@@chucklesthelegend7305only disco elysium has nowhere near the technical capabilities of bg3 when it comes to cutscenes and combat, disco elysium is a completely different experience that focuses 99% on dialogue, baldur's gate, while still being able to to be compared to DE when it comes do dialogue depth(which is a feat on its own) also has a plethora of other stuff, making it, a much bigger game.
@@DigiPen92he's probably talking about Phil Spencer. Which... majority of the Xbox community, PC community and even Playstation community all agree. Dude is a lost cause and a liability to the brand. Only W he's ever caught was announcing the cross platform transition of Xbox games, but that's also something that HAD to be done to save the brand, now that console exclusivity is a thing of the past.
@@jon8223 fr? That Jeff Bezos wannabe? They should just fire both at this point. Nothing on Microsoft as a company, but this is a pretty weak decision to make for a person that rarely overlooks and makes decisions on behalf of the Xbox division.
The CEO was probably murmuring to himself like "nah this type of game isn't even mainstream surely it would flop". And was butthurt after being proven wrong and quickly had to fetch a reason to shut em down to feel better. I'm something of a Disney villain writer myself.
The fact that Hi Fi Rush was a shadow drop truly showed the strength of its style and concept. Not from a previous ip or had a huge marketing campaign. "Here's a great game, play it today," and everyone was om board
@@oliverpuppetproductions8753 they aren’t originally their companies they bought most all those companies out and killed them so yes it was their competition all they are doing is shorting the market you see it happen with all things
Between Helldivers 2 and Hi-Fi Rush, Im convinced that the only thing preventing corporate success in the industry are short-sided money driven decisions. At least Sony listened
@@rainbowrandolph9 the big Xbox people who don’t like games they work on for literally decades and it flops and can’t understand why it does But when a newer game company makes a game that actually succeeds they hate it and try to ruin it for everyone else
Sony owns the IP now and Insomniac has said they want to make another one but Sony keeps making them work on super hero games (Spiderman and Wolverine)
@Delta21OnYT they did Spiderman in 2018, Miles Morale in 2020, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart in 2021 and Spiderman 2 in 2023, currently they're working on Wolverine
Yeah people are glazing PlayStation in the comments as if they didn't just try to prevent 170+ countries from playing one of their most popular games They are all terrible
Great, so people see that it's overwhelmingly positive, buy it, and all the money goes to microsoft and steam since the devs arent around. People thinking they're helping the studio when they're just lining microsofts pockets.
Hi fi rush had a 5 year dev cycle with only the first year being small. it also has a lot of licensed rock tracks which costs money too. Unfortunately sales matter most in modern gaming.
The sad thing about this is it was shadow dropped because of Starfield. The parent studio is Bethesda and if anyone knows our save and grace Todd Howard, he hates being outshined
So many people are missing the point that Tango was shut down due to the fact that the founder Shinji Mikami left shortly after Hi-fi rush came out. Many of the other developers followed him in leaving the studio. He was the driving force behind the studio and without him Tango was a chicken with it's head cut off.
The reason it stood out to me was 1. Rhythm based fighting, 2. It’s a small game. 3. It’s a small game WITH A POLISH DUB 🇵🇱 and 4. Why did Xbox shut them down?
"What are we even doing anymore" exactly, friend. Couldnt have said it better myself. Corporate morons and "profits before people" have destroyed so much art, so many enjoyable experiences. Its evil.
At this point the best thing you can do if you don't own Hi-Fi Rush is wait for it to be placed on sale for very cheap or outright free show Xbox they can't make money off of games if they're gonna turn around and fire the people responsible for them.
What they really meant to say was "The prime goal of the team making this game is not making us money" But hey, if I'm wrong, it's up to them to prove me wrong
That game literally dropped out of nowhere last year and was just simply awesome. As most of the games from Tango! And they freaking closed it! And after that they dare to say they care about players and not their wallets
It's one thing for Sony to force PC gamers to have a psn account to play their titles on multiplayer but what Microsoft is doing feels more blood boiling couse this is affecting more gamers and the teams that makes games combined.
If there ain’t a sequel then I’m gonna be mad because Hi-Fi Rush was fun asf 🤩 I loved the blatant humor and sarcasm scattered throughout the game was a nice touch to the rhythm based style. 😁
No no, you don't get it, it's the ONLINE SERVICES that gamers want. It's always the FCKING ONLINE SERVICES and BATTLE FCKING ROYALE. No online? Bye bye studio.
Big corps want “smaller games” because it makes them more money in the end, it’s not hard to see the success of indie games, and they want a piece of that cake
Bethesda cant stop updating almost 10+ year old games no one wants updates for (just to break mods at this point) and shidding out garbage games so maybe they should do something about that instead.
Smaller means cheaper shorter development times with way smaller dev teams. Hi Fi Rush was not cheap to make and couldn’t be sold at full RRP due to its perceived “smaller” game nature
Xbox WANTED it to fall flat because it appealed to the portion of the market they can't microtrans into hell. 1990s-2010s either aren't interested in or generally just won't buy into microtransaction trends for various reasons, and Hi-Fi Rush fit perfectly into the Saturday morning cartoon nostalgic trip they love. Xbox was just trying to nip a competitive problem in the butt before it set a precedent that didn't line investor pockets.
Who are these people that clearly dont know a damn thing about games, making such massive decisions? This screams someone who shouldn't have the job is in that position of power.
