5:44 that’s adorable. My mom would always put a post-it with a note on it in my lunchbox. She would also cut our sandwiches into shapes like hearts and circles, she would put a smiley face on the circle ones with food colouring. We argue here and there, but she’s the best mom I could ever ask for
Agreed! I was surprised the person said "Don't laugh." Who in their right mind would laugh? Okay fine, even if the cake was made for an adult, that's still a really good effort on the mom's part!
When I moved to Seattle in 1999, my mother found out I couldn't get my favorite pie for my birthday. She bought 2,wrapped them in layers of plastic wrap, and sent them priority overnight mail. I paid her back when she got cancer, and mentioned the only thing that sounded good to eat was tater tot casserole (used to make it for her when she worked late when I was a kid). Drove across the state and you bet your ass I made my mom some dinner. She's been gone almost 20 years now.
I sent my kids to my mothers for the weekend and when they came home on Sunday, they had on blue jeans I didn’t recognize. I ask my five year old daughter where she got the jeans. Turns out they were my jeans from the sixties when I was five!
Old fart here...Mixed emotions about this: I'm 71 and jealous that kids have parents like this, but very happy that some kids do have good parents. Conflicted.
The banana art ban was ridiculous on the teacher's part! How sad for both Zac and his mom. My late mother would draw pictures on my lunch sacks almost every day. Betty Boop, elves, blue bird, etc. all without inciting a riot. Perhaps I had a better teacher.
My mum comes out with things we call “motherisums”, my brother took mum & me to a extremely smart restaurant. My brother loves very smelly cheese, mum doesn’t like cheese, especially smelly cheese. Stu is picking from the cheese trolley so mum picks up her glass of coke puts it to her nose and says “I will have to just sniff my coke” to which I replied rather loudly, “I’ve not heard you say that since the 80’s” staff and customers killing themselves laughing.
