New title: Jake flirting with Amy like a middle schooler and Gina both pretending she doesn’t know who Amy is yet finding very specific ways to make fun of her.
okay but can we talk about how anyone who dated her once could never get over her? in fact she literally made jake want to give up being a detective (his dream job) after dating her for 6 days! she’s so awesome
tbh Amy's one of the character's who's the most hardworking and would actually help anyone without thinking twice. She's also such a badass (that scene where she chased the guy through an alleyway in a wedding dress)
The way they're so mean to Amy but she still goes out of her way to help them without thinking twice and she even still considers them her friend! The way she looks so disappointed after they insult her for being excited about something makes my heart just explode. Amy is such a cutie, she may be a "nerd pushover" but she's still the cutest!
The one moment I really hated Gina was when she said she was gonna wear white to the wedding. It proved that she couldn’t bare not to have the spotlight on her and that she always was undermining and putting down Amy
And the fact that Amy put so much love into making that tweet book for her and she asked her to burn it made me want to burn her ridiculous personality 😇
makes sense because Jake is in the same league as Rosa,Holt and Gina where he bounces between Goofy and Cool. Amy and Charles just don't do that often enough.
amy: is one of the smartest, most capable, kindest people on the show with a variety of passions and hobbies who is selfless and understanding and would do anything for her friends including breaking the rules she so religiously follows everyone else (especially gina): God what a lame goody-two-shoes loser
In reality you would hate someone as suck up as Amy, didn’t she got annoyed at officer Gary Jennings, and found out they’re exactly the same. The truth is you would hate everyone’s characters at real life (maybe not Terry and Holt). Jake’s unprofessionalism, Rosa’s moods, Gina’s bitchy facade, Scully and Hitchcock’s incompetence, and Boyle’s weirdness. They all have redeeming factors but their flaws somehow make them funny

Like I think Jake and Gina received it defo slightly less and Amy and Charles a bit more, as well as Hitchcock and skully. But most of it was mutual, also like casually teasing each other but at the same time being comfortable with it is actually quite realistic. Like the casual (and I hate the word but I think it describes it) Banta between friends
They can be mean to her all they want but she was the ultimate Queen of the 99. She had it all, amazing detective, youngest female sergeant, married to her best friend and highly relatable most of the times (at least to me).

I felt so bad for Amy, I love her so much :( I love Gina but she had almost no character development and was too mean sometimes especially towards Amy. Out of the whole squad she was probably the one with the least development through the seasons.
she's got some iconic lines and is pretty funnt but you're 100% right. the more times i rewatch it the more i realise she's just mean. she does have moments where shes nice but then it back tracks and she's still kinda mean

Amy can never catch a break. I now hate Gina for being unnecessarily cruel when Amy works a lot harder. Plus Charles is a secret stalker who wants to be married to Jake. The only decent relationships Amy has is with her parents, Jake, Rosa, Holt and Terry.

It was funny at first but by about season 4 or 5 I think they ran out of ways to make it funny and it started to come off as more mean-spirited. Like e.g. “is it possible to enter the colour beige” is hilarious and clever, but telling her to be quiet because Iggy’s sleeping just comes off as mean with no real punchline.
Okay, let’s do this. Amy is one the most influential female character I’ve ever seen in any show 💪🏼. She’s smart, strong, (rightfully) ambitious, kind and to this all, insanely beautiful. Sure she’s sometimes too up-tide, too uncertain and anxious, but this is what I love about her. She’s not idealized. She has flaws, she’s a real person with strengths and weaknesses, and still manages to take a man down in wedding dress. I see myself in her. Because her personality is almost completely the same as mine, that much that it’s actually weird, but also because I was as well bullied by people like Gina. And I know it’s a show, but yes, there’s a reason to hate Gina. I don’t think she’s funny and I just genuinely dislike her 👎. The only thing about Amy I don’t like is that she actually likes Gina and takes all her crap, for reason that I cannot figure out. I would send her somewhere long time ago. That’s my opinion. I think, generally, we should all be more like Amy. The end :D ... and one more thing, Gina is always teasing Amy about how she dresses. But ehm, Gina is not a beauty queen in fashion sense, too. Her wardrobe is completely ordinary. I would take it if she would look like a second Coco, but, sorry, nothing special there. Now it’s the end 😄

No one said they're okay with everyone else being mean to Amy, they're complaining about Gina specifically because her jokes are the most mean-spirited and she just says cruel things to Amy completely unprovoked. Peeps who say gina is iconic for being a bully are probably the same peeps who call women "queens" for cheating/abuse. Amy is brilliant and i look up to her. The only problem she has is being a teacher's pet but she is not irrational about it, she chooses her mentor carefully.

I once read someone’s theory that Gina was never gonna wear that dress and she had it as a back up if and when things went wrong. It’s a little demure for ginas taste and it’s way more Amy’s style plus soemthing always goes wrong at the 99. I like the idea of Gina secretly loving Amy and taking care of her in that moment. But that doesn’t change that she’s so overly mean to Amy all 97.6% of the time.
I have always hated how she gets bullied for being a nerd (i was bullied too ) but she handles it so well. Ngl if someone like gina existed in my life i would have punched her. Also i feel that Charles is a bit mysoginistic when it comes to amy as he only sees amy as "jake's love interest" amd not an actual person which is very very creepy. Others are cool tho

Yeah; my friends and I got made fun of in very similar ways back in high school because we were "nerdy", or socially awkward, and so on, so every time I see these scenes I feel physically uncomfortable
i don’t really mind any of theses but that scene where gina locks amy in a room and leaves her there while amy scream that she’s very claustrophobic makes me so mad 😭😭
That just makes me dislike Gina. Most of the time her "jokes" are just excuses to attack someone who never did anything to her. I wish the writers had given her character something better to work with.
@@mira9051 I just don’t enjoy these “jokes”. To me they are not funny, because there are various ways to make others laugh without being mean, we can see this when other characters make fun of each other in the series. But that is just my opinion, no one needs to agree with it. :)
My favorite scene of the entire show is when Amy in labour and Hitchcock yells at each other. Meanwhile Rosa is looking shocked and Scully looks surprised. 😂
Y'all don't understand Gina is a type of character who can't truly have character development she is such an iconic character and the reason for the is her personality Gina has grown as a character but less then the others because if Gina truly had development she wouldn't really be Gina but over seasons she has been nicer to Amy and has said multiple times she loves the Nine-Nine and Amy as well.
