I thought I died and was being welcomed through Saint Peter's gate by the Heavenly Father's Angel Band! Y'all come to Texas And put a bigger smile on all us Music lovers, Please!
Also to Gary York, so wonderful to have a regional television program like this! This too is now missed in so many areas, ours up here included. You promote and keep a great music alive and well and a great introduction to your region. Love the music from all the way up here in Manitoba, Canada.
Wayne Henderson is a treasured friend to all who are lucky enough to know him; he is an amazingly talented guitarist and luthier. Presley Barker is, without a doubt, the most talented and gifted young guitarist I've ever met and a joy to listen to. He is a testament to what can be achieved when one starts out with natural talent and the support of a great family and good people like Wayne Henderson and Steve Lewis behind him to aid in developing that talent. Thank you for the entertainment!
Wayne's a great person, and also a great picker and luthier. One of my favorite people on the planet. He's a joy to be around, and Presley's lucky they got together. Presley's awesome as well. Great video.
I've never heard anyone say a bad word about Wayne Henderson, and there's a reason for that. When I was young, I lived down the road from Wayne briefly. I had a passing interest in making instruments, like so many people. Some guy who knew Wayne slightly said, "You should meet ol' Wayne." So he took me over to Wayne's house unannounced and uninvited, and introduced me. I don't know why Wayne didn't tell me to shove off, but he invited me in. I was too young and silly to even ask an intelligent question, and Wayne was obviously tired after a long day's work. So I sat on the couch with him and, I guess, his wife. And we watched TV. Gomer Pyle, I think. No one said a word about guitars. After awhile I stood up and said, "Well Wayne, I need to get on down the road. Thanks for your help". And he said, "Come back anytime", which in the South does not really mean come back anytime. It was only much later I realized what a legend he was. But he was the nicest most unassuming guy in the world, then and now.
