Mate, 40 minutes of pushing hard like that is insane to me, I'd be dead 4 minutes in. Well done, i was checking the results Sunday to see how you did, cracking job, mate.

Amazing riding, a true testiment to the engineering of these bikes and the bravery of the riders. It's gotta be rough of your skeleton/state of mind riding on such rough terrain - whenever I ride in a snow storm in winter for the first time of the year I always wake up in the middle of the night tossing sharply resisting falling off my bike even though I'm in my bed sleeping :') I wonder if any of these guys get that after rough races like this. It's tough on the body for sure, but I imagine it's really mentally tough too.
