this reminds me of the myth where an infertile woman asked the fae to help her so they used magit to let her get pregnant, then took the baby and replaced it with a changeling baby (as per a deal they made). After some time she went to go get her baby back from the fae and they took both babies and put them next to each other thinking she couldn't tell them apart. They told her that any baby she leaves will die and any baby she takes home will be hers forever. She took them both and raised them as twins, since she had already loved and cared for both. the actual movie explains all of this, just came from watching it and i saw your comment. The monsters are changelings , A scientist built the bunker and sacrifice the worker to the watchers after they completed certain parts of the build, the watchers learn how to become the person in the room, they are trap on the island and they can't fly away because they lost their wings. The scientist lost his wife and he went to this island to bring her back as that is what the people from before use to do but eventually the humans lock them away and trap them on that island. The old lady, was actually a changeling the only one who was a day walker, she is actually half human. You should watch the show it wasn't bad.

Actually it's clearly explained in the movies that the scientist sent a new crew of men to work on the construction every day and every night they die and promptly be replaced. Even went as far to go into detail on how he searched for people that were desperate and wouldn't be missed if they died.

Plenty of bad movies can still be watchable and even enjoyable, if you're in the right mood for them. No, this movie commits the sin of being boring. The movie tries really hard to be interesting and introduce many different angles but it just doesn't land any of them. I had no idea this was labeled as a horror movie until after I'd already seen it and it definitely doesn't feel like one. It feels like it wants to be a suspense movie but falls incredibly short of its mark in trying to get there.

A lot of people are trashing this film - I just watched it after watching this video to see if it was actually bad, I enjoyed it quite a lot, the story is quite interesting and enjoyable to watch, the twist was well done and thought out, I’d give this film an 8/10, purely for creativity

My friend brought up such an interesting point about the builders brought in to build the bunker The year that would have happened in would have been around 2008 which is when the banking collapse happened triggering a horrible recession in Ireland that left many people jobless So there would have been loads of people desperate for some work, especially builders because the banking collapse was triggered by the housing collapse so the building industry was basically decimated for years. So there would have been many out of work builders eager to sign up to help some rich professor build his cabin in the woods which led to their death
@briansounalath
@briansounalath 25 дней назад
Yeah but there were no roads there. And how did they set up plumbing and electricity. Seems a bit modern for small town builders and also no decent furniture? It would like more like a crappy wood or metal sheet tiny house easily built.

Coming from Ireland it was funny to see a forest way way more extreme than anywhere on our island 😂 could literally walk through Irelands largest forest in a few hours, also the drive from Galway to Belfast is a toll motorway unless your sadistic and go the country way. The movie literally treats you like an idiot, awful show.

You know what, I kinda liked it. It has this old-school b-movie taste I admire (although I totally understand people who say it tastes like toilet). Also, interesting premise, ok acting and direction (especially for a debutant). The main problem is the script, of course, which to me feels close to "so bad it's good" category. Not a big fan of the lady's father, but still, there is something very distinctive in the style of this one, very familiar.

Nephilim(means Giants) in short, interesting also that the angels who sinned and "left their first abode" and had relations with human women were called "Watchers" in the Apocryphal("hidden") book "Enoch", and the biblical flood is what wiped them out(Gen6). Even more interesting is the Mesopotamian religion "divine beings" known as "Apkallu" were credited with teaching humanity what it needed to establish civilization, or in a sense "hidden" knowledge. They then to preserve the knowledge given to humanity they came down from their and fathered children with human women, These quasi-divine humans survived the flood, known as "Apkallu", "Mats-Tsarey", or in English, "Watchers".

Derivative and unoriginal, and a silly plot to boot. Nothing makes any sense - for instance, in what university would a professor's office be left as a time capsule? A classic example of nepotism, with daughter trying to emulate father's success. Unfortunately there is little chance of success as her father's style is too limited (creepy isolate settlement/cabin, creatures in the woods, nothing what it seems to be).

I coincidentally read the very short book like a week or two before the trailers hit. I hated the book...boring, predictable, not scary. Even from the trailers I could see the spoilers and ending and that they've changed stuff...sounds like the movie sucks too. All the crap they added is hilarious, like the clapping and "performances" in front of the mirror.
