I honestly think that's my favorite part of the song, it's creative and enjoyable, I love how artists play with the vocals like one of the girls had said previously. It's interesting, and flows with Melanie's song especially! I hear it as a violin mixing into her voice, just within the background of the song, soon making it appear more, making it become vivid to the listeners ears. The fact one girl hears it as a robot, I don't see, but that's just my perspective! 🙃

I know I'm going to get attacked for saying this (even though I _am_ a long time Crybaby): yes, I do agree that that part sounds different. HOLD ON, BEFORE YOU MURDER ME. It sounds _different_ . Not weird in a bad way. It's my favourite part of the song actually, and for me it makes the line sound more emotional, as well as make it stand out more. I saw a comment that said it reminds them of crying, and I sort of agree. It sounds like the way people _imitate_ someone crying. But also, I kind of just like it for... sounding cool (aaand this is where I get attacked because I haven't said it "sounds this way because [insert reason here]"). I really like Melanie’s work and After School is one of my favourite projects from 2020, but Numbers is my least favourite song of it. And it has nothing to do with the “weird part”. I just don’t click with it much. But I really appreciate what Melanie did with the track, is very well written and built.
