Rough Translation When asked about her childhood, she was one among the 21 children to her parents, till the age seven she was just like any other boy buy as she grew her body stated to change and her family made her a jogamma(you belong to the temple and have to live by begging and can also be used for sex by village men) she wasn't given education. She was thrown out of the house. She wanted to commit suicide and even tried it buy she didn't die. When asked about whether her family members are in touch with her, she said during her initial years as Jogamma(Jogti) there was no one. She got a guru who taught her the traditional dance form and act. Ash she grew in her career her family came back to her. ( I pity her for having a family which only cares for money) When asked why most transgender choose begging or sex work she said 8ts because society shuns them and they don't get education. Her request was to not to abandon kids like her, give them education so that they could stand on their feet instead of choosing begging and sex work. She cried because she was abandoned by her own family and she doesn't want anyone to go through he same harrowing experience at such a young age. She thinks India is changing and wants government to provide free education for trans community

Here you guys should know one important thing, the Jogamma or Jogati tradition has given place to many transgender from many centuries...this is the beauty of Hinduism... inclusiveness can be seen in our tradition, our society, our culture. as she said, her Guru has taught Jogamma/Jogati dance to her to lead a respectable life. Our forefathers has made very nice passage to these transgenders to live & get respect in the society. Jogammas are known as worshipper of God (female priest) their duty is to perform & Teach dance, songs or any artistic work to kids and spread bhakti/ devotional positive message to villagers. on those days it was assigned job to transgender community by our forefathers. But, here you should also do not confuse Jogati tradition with Devadasi tradition, both are different..! I hope my brief explanation can helped you guys to understand Jogati tradition as well as their role in ancient Hindu society. Thx.
