I wanted to thank everyone for the very nice comments and compliments! A friend of mine saw it on you tube and forwarded it to me yesterday. Thanks Reggie, i had a lot of fun doing it although a little nervous to sing on the street . Marie-Claire
@@bookie5667 that is actually the song I thought she was going to sing but she really did a lovely rendition of "la vie en rose". I am surprised that it was not more appreciated by him or the street.
I loved it. Wether she was in tune or not, it didn't matter. Lovely lady, beautiful song And of course the French language is divine anyway. Loved this ❤❤❤❤
@Vero E What he meant is he sung the song Gypsy style, which is very distinctive. Kendji is a famous singer of Gypsy culture, and this guy definitely sung like him.
@@TheLauriie94 c'est la version des Gipsy Kings bien avant que Kendji en fasse la reprise à The Voice, dommage de l'ignorer quand on sort un commentaire aussi médisant... Bien sûr que tout le monde connait la version d'Aznavour
Her voice is beautiful. But it’s interesting how sometimes it isn’t the MOST beautiful voice that gets me emotional. It’s some indescribable factor about the voice. And she has a voice like that.
As a French speaking native (from 🇧🇪❤️) and someone who loves what you do, I always wondered if you would ever have some French songs in your channel. Now I got two for the price of one 😄 Super nice vibes with both of them. You can tell that the second person has done this before, he is very charismatic. Cheers Guitaro !
This Lady is truly amazing. At first I was surprised how she speaks both languages equally good, and then... She knocked me down with her singing skills.
Most likely she has been living in NY for a while, after a long enough time in a country your accent tend to disappear My english teacher in HS (I'm french) was english and it was a real surprise when she told us, she had been living in France for 20+ years and talked an absolutely perfect French, with even a slight accent of the region we live in
La bohême est une très belle chanson de Charles Aznavour et ce jeune homme l'a si bien interpretée. La vie en rose a été magnifique aussi. Bravo à tous les deux. Love from Sydney Australie 🇦🇺
What a nice guy Reggie is. He puts the spot light on someone and let's them shine. Who would have guessed this lady has such an awesome voice. Thank you Reggie

Congratulations Marie-Claire. For someone who had never sung in the street before, you did a wonderful job. It was a Beautiful song and you have a beautiful voice. Kudos to you!!
Young man, the fact that you can play just about any song is absolutely incredible. You are so talented and you should be so very proud. Thank you for bringing such joy to those who cross your path with song. Bless you!!!
If you know how to play guitar very well, playing specific chords isn't that difficult. Playing notes like TheDooo by ear is amazing. What Reggie does is great, but simply from musical perspective it's not that uncommon. What's uncommon is also ability to connect with people and his entire personality. When you combine everything, that's incredible. Skills in playing guitar are nice, but it's more hard work than talent. Same goes for drawing - everyone can learn it, not many people do. Like you wouldn't believe how person who can't draw at all can improve just by reading one book and following the instructions (doing excercises) - Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards. You can improve massively in a week or two and people will think you're doing magic. With learning instruments it takes more time, but everyone can learn it if they really want to. You just need to do it in an efficient way, not just messing around, because you'll get bad habits which are difficult to get rid off later on.
@@Kondiqq I see your point. Yet, even if one knows music theory, and figure out the chord progression, it is not common for people after one hearing of a song to be able to put all that together and accompany someone impromptu on the street with the embellishments he gives and keep up, especially given that non-professionals tend to make unanticipated tempo changes. I think Reggie's talent is beyond the ordinary.

Wonderful singers, both of them. French people seem to have a cultural ability to turn melancholy into beauty which I’ve never found in another nationality.
My first trip out of the US was to fix a computer at SNCF Paris and my first impression was that all French people are cool like that. I also guessed they thought we Americans were up tight over achievers. Both impressions are exaggerations.
Marie-Claire elle est aussi si jolie. Avez-vous, Marie-Claire, joué devant plusieurs personnes avant ce jour ? Quoi que vous fassiez, continuez à chanter 🌹

Reggie man, You do not get the credit that is owed to you. You musical talent surpasses that of many so called professionnals. To listen to a song for 30 seconds, and deliver what you just did in the ''La Boheme'' with that passer by, is nothing short of OUTSTANDING. The Feench guy wa good as well. He has a nice voice. Big LIKE to you man!

How he can play a song he's never do e before, even in a different language so perfectly is astounding. Seriously, even as a very seasoned musician, it's not easy.
It probably has to with him being able to hear the pitch and tones in his hearing and translating it to the actual words. It’s a gift of blessing. May he be truly blessed by God for the beautiful things that he does. God bless us all everyone.
I play by ear. I can't read music, only chords, and I don't know the names of all the cords, just how yo play them. Still, it's hard, but he reads music, so he's got an advantage.
I've never heard La Boheme. What a great song! Auriel sung it so beautifully, and his energy was so very warm and bright. You could tell he was a musician. Reggie, your ear for music and your ability to pick it up is astounding. 🫶
Have you never heard La Boheme? Don't say it, that should be punishable by prison, it's a crime. Charles Aznavour, a genius of music and composition, glory of France.
Beautiful ❤ 100% Proof that we don't need to be a famous " Pop / Rock Star " to be able to wonderfully express ourselves through song. I loved this, and the whole idea of " inclusion for everyone " where music and art are concerned. Thank you Marie-Claire and Reggie for your beautiful interaction. A truly lovely moment for all of us to enjoy .... and thank you Auriel, for another wonderful moment - you all made my day ❤🙏
Marie Claire did a fantastic job with this famous French song. I remember Grace Jones had a popular cover of this song in the 70s. La Boheme was also well done. 🎶🎸
I think she was being very humble because he said something about o something you sing in the shower and she clearly said ",oh, I don't sing in the shower...." And I'm sure there was another part to that but she kept it to herself. We got lucky she wanted to share the moment!
Okay, but this Auriel with "La Bohème" is the mind blower!!! Just wow ! Amazing, boy he has the voice and the groove. You both, Auriel and Reggie were perfect! TY
I've only ever heard Edith Piaf sing this song...this woman did a fantastic job! Edit: OH, I didn't realize a second person from France sang also...he did a wonderful job too!
Oh please look into more Piaf songs. She had a great many that were popular and that she made world famous. Songs like: "Milord," "Mon Manège à Moi", "La foule" and her signature song, "Non, je ne regrette rien".
I loved her low breathy octave she was able to pull it off so beautifully.Girl you really can sing and I would enjoy sitting and hearing you sing a whole set of songs..I'm so glad you sang for him.
@@williammackay3321We're all damp and miserable fighting midges everyday. Its rare to see a Scot in tears. I've only cried twice. Once when my pet haggis died and the other was when I dipped my deep fried mars bar in my irn bru and it snapped and sunk to the bottom.
My mother passed many years ago. That was one of the songs she enjoyed. I don't know you, but dedinitely can relate. I am sorry for your loss, recent or not.
This was so beautiful ❤️. Thank you so much for sharing. What a special memory. Great job Marie Claire and Reggie. I love how unafraid you are to just walk up to people and just play. Youre awesome!
As a french person, I enjoy a lot that video, the woman sing this song very naturally :D And the man did a beautiful job too, I love the way he sings La Bohème
He did a FANTASTIC job of Charles Aznavour's La Boheme and she did a wonderful rendition of La Vie en Rose. He looked Armenian (my ethnicity), and Charles Aznavour was one of our beloved Armenian singers.
I love when they sing in French, The nice gentleman singing in French He had such character, He had such heart when he sang.... You could tell that he lives his life with passion and intensity.... It was beautiful to watch ⭐
This made me cry, I had never seen the translation before, and the words touched my heart. Also, this woman singing these words, no matter her life story... blessed me
I love this song it’s one of my favourite song by Edith Piaf, and the most famous song Je ne regret rien…I don’t regret anything…I’m so blessed that I speak 5 languages English is my 5th language and it’s totally different when you can understand it in French the lyrics are amazing & sad 😞 May she Rest In Peace Repose en paix 🪦 Edith Piaf👏💘 greetings from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
That was so awesome. What a wonderful way to remind ourselves to stop and take a break from the daily hassle. This lady's pride for her country brought tears to my eyes. What a beautiful song!!!
My dear, you killed it with your naturally beautiful voice! Never stop singing and never hesitate stepping up to any microphone! Blessings in Absolute Abundance! ✨💖✨
Dear Marie-Claire you and Reggie did an absolute excellent performance. Your voice is stunning, it is so clean and right on the spot and you didn't even had a single note out of tune. The two of you are real artists that do not need any autotune nor do you need a big Karaoke-Sound-System. Everything is handmade! Love it very much! Thanks a lot for sharing. Please stay healthy. God bless you! Cheers DimiZ
Reggie, you are so talented to be able to interact with people on the street and play songs you've never heard before! Auriel had a fabulous voice and really did a great job with that song. Bravo!
Omgosh when she started to sing I started to cry. I do not speak French and have no idea what the song is about but yet the emotion it caused was incredible. Both singers are amazing. Love the guitar as well.
Oh my goodness Marie-Claire, you are absolutely amazing! It brought tears to my eyes. This is one of my all time favourites. Thank you for sharing your gift with all of us. I hope you can sing more often. You were just glowing. Blessings. 💜...Auriel, you were just as talented. Wow, how amazing you got to sing on your first day there...and to hear another French singer. Synchronicity. 💜
Marie-Claire - you have such a beautiful voice!!! I couldn't believe that you had never done this before, on the street - you sounded so expert! I like all of Reggie's videos, but you really were outstanding. Thank you so much for not walking away - for letting Reggie convince you to sing! Most enjoyable!
Hats off to you Marie Claire, a beautiful classic song done beautifully. And a huge compliment for Reggie who learned a song in seconds, very impressive both of you. La Vie en Rose is one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded.
La Bohème is also a beautiful classic song. Probably even more so in France than La Vie en Rose (I feel like everytime I hear about La VIe en Rose it's linked to a foreign country). But if you don't know Charles Azenavour check it out and check the lyrics too. He's in the Top 3 of the greatest French singers ever.
When La vie en rose plays, I’m immediately transported to Paris. One of the most lovely and enduring songs ever written anywhere in the world. Well done modulating the keys to voice, Marie Claire! Well-done! 🎉 And Charles Aznavour is one of my favorite singer- composers ever. How wonderful to see two street performers do those two songs. That young man has it too Great rendition of a favorite Aznavour classic. 🎉
Such an absolutely beautiful romantic experience. The two of you sharing that music together, using your considerable talents was so touching. I have heard that French song before but it meant more to me during this performance. Just lovely. Reggie, you are amazing. To be able to pick up a song, any song, at first glance and with just a moment to listen, is magical. You are using your gifts in such a beautiful, spirit enriching way. God bless. Merci. 💖
Well now. I was NOT expecting that. Both singers were wonderful. I'd never heard the 2nd song before but the singer really sold it. Reggie. You really are a very fine musician to be able to listen once and then provide such convincing and sympathetic accompaniment to people you've never met before. Thank you.
I agree. It was astounding that you played both of those songs so beautifully. Thank you and please keep doing this. The World needs this kind of LOVE. God bless you!!
Marie Claire has a lovely voice. Reggie, I have never heard that song accompanied by a guitar. That was very nice. Merci beaucoup, Thank you, to you both.
Marie-Claire...this song was my parents wedding song 62 years ago and hearing you sing it brought tears to my eyes! You are such a beautiful lady with a beautiful voice , I would love to hear more songs from you!
Im a mid 30s construction worker and like to think im not a big softie but the french woman and that song actually brought tears to my eyes. I truly love my wife and felt every bit of that song while thinking of her.
When I consider the equipment used to record this song, the fact that the two of you took a brief time to coordinate your combined efforts, it came out fantastic. I can only imagine what a professional studio and a little more prep time would do for you both. I am toying with the idea of a recording studio and a cut of this song could really sell. Thank you for such an amazing rendition of this world-wide popular tune.
probably one of my favorite videos to date! Reggie, your talent is incredible. The way you pick up songs, can adapt to gestures and hints from the singer when you have no prior experience performing together - it is remarkable!
Honestly that is amazing .. not too many people could really just come off the street and sing like that .. unlike a lot of these type of videos this seemed really authentic 😊
Well done Reggie and Marie-Claire. You gave me the shivers. You have a lovely voice and I bet the New Yorkers around you appreciated it. Kisses from France 🇫🇷
Auriel, that was totally awesome! You have a beautiful voice. Thank you for blessing us with it. When next I hear “La Boheme,” I’ll think of you singing in the streets of New York.🌸💕
So beautiful, your voice and song was so heartfelt. I'm so glad that you stopped to sing.Your gift of such a blessing and beautiful to hear.I am so happy you decided to take the time to share it with us. ❤
