In real history, the music was to send orders over the field clearly when the voices of thousands of screaming men drown out language. Horns and drums were popular for this reason. In modern times, we automate these roles in the form of sirens and loud warning bells. Sometimes the attack signal is a tank covered in loud speakers playing heavy metal.
Oh that makes sense, I knew people back in the olden days weren't retarded they were just not technologically advanced. Technology develops by a cumulative effort over generations. I'm betting there was a whole spy system built around finding out the enemy's mixtape so you could predict their attack patterns, maybe even early counterintelligence and psyops in the form of playing some beat tricking the enemy into thinking you were gonna do a cavalry charge or something but you were actually getting ready to do an arrow volley ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
“I’m a good soldier let me join” ...I mean they’d be missing out if they didn’t let him join. Dude took 2 on 1 while having a conversation with his allies.
Politically, they'd have to worry about the soldier backstabbing them... Economically, rather than some dude with sword skilz, they'd profit far more of the guys who can set an atmosphere...
Nobody peeped what the leader said in the background? "I'm gonna see y'all after the battle. I'm gonna go and fight the leader alone for some reason" hahahah
The reason the two swordsmen couldn't take him out was because they didn't have any people playing instruments, boosting their morale.🤓 Edit: Came here after some time to over 8K likes lmao, glad ya'll liked it
You laugh at the whistler, but you forget (Or Probably just didn't know). The aztec used death whistles that sounded as if someone was screaming when you blew into them in battle. They would blow hundreds of them at the same time, terrifying their enemy and making them unsure- if not causing them to retreat all together. Imagine being in battle marching forwards with your army all confident. *And then you just hear hundreds upon thousands of blood-curtling screams.*
Common piece of misinformation, the Aztec death whistle was never used in combat as far as we know. It was once theorized that was one it's uses but the Spanish never recorded hearing anything like it during their battles with the Aztecs. The Death Whistle is now believed to be an item of religious significance blown before or during sacrifices or other religious rites as a way to 'pump up the crowd' as it were. The reason it probably wasn't used in war is quite simple, they're not actually that scary. If you were just walking through the woods alone at night and suddenly you hear it go off yeah that's terrifying but the Aztecs were pretty well known to use this instrument so all the other tribes would know what it actually was and wouldn't be too put off by it. Plus the Aztecs preferred to fight in the daylight which would also decrease the scare factor.
Fun fact, Whistler was a real musician type for most of human history. Of course it wasn't just anyone who could whistle, rather it was much like a singer. They typically had to have the ability to whistle exceedingly loudly and for long periods and had a wide range of tones, almost able to communicate through whistles. They were pretty much replaced by flutes just prior to the enlightenment. While flutes have been around for a long time, dating back to at least the Sumarians, and probably far older. Flutes began to be produced out of refined metals in the early 16th century which allowed for much louder sound and gave rise to artists who had difficulty being a whistler as well as it allowed existing whistlers to have a wider range.
This nameless soldier is literally a god, even while distracted and down on the ground, he's blocking attacks, if he switches sides, THEY DONE. To anyone saying they did boost his morale, you forgetting the part where he seemed very low on it, y'know, when he was begging to join the enemy.
He was actually providing extremely strong agility buffs, that's why Sword!Caleb could deflect all those attacks. He just couldn't tell because he was playing with HUD off for a more cinematic experience
Nah bruh all you need is the pale tongues, and spines of all your enemies as trophies of all your victories. That's morale enough for me. How do I know? I have 300+ pale tongues. That's more than enough morale for me.

A lot of people seem to be overlooking the guy in the beginning, “I’ll see you all after the battle, I’m going to go find and fight the leader alone for some reason.” Caleb’s attention for detail is so incredible.

I come back to this vid at least once a month and it never fails to make me burst with laughter. Thanks for the smile breaks inbetween my busy life! Haha Love ya, you talented dude!
Fun fact, war drums have been used in historical context to issue commands to soldiers from far away. By having enough drums beating a certain beat in unison, the sound travels enough to reach a wide battlefield, and the rhythm is a signal for different orders. They even had relay squads, basically groups of drummers that stay just within hearing range of another set of drummers to forward orders to different area of the battlefield.
Funny when you consider the whole "i need help" plea was essentially the reason for instruments in war. If you try to give commands/info verbally in a loud battlefield literally no-one is going to hear you, you tell the drummer to hit that massive war drum as hard as possible and everyone in your unit can hear it. Different drum beats were trained into the soldiers as marching orders allowing a commander to issue commands even over the noise of a battle. The drummers were an incredibly important part of the command structure and that's why they existed in almost all historic armies, they were not liabilities.
“I will see you all after the battle, I’m gonna go find and fight the leader alone for some reason” Gotta love the little sub plots he throws in for extra detail
I imagine someone breaking into his house wile he films this and seeing him talking to himself while squirming on the floor waving around a fake sword with his phone in hand and just going like "Nevermind" and leaving after
I can't get over the choreography and camera work of the lunge at 0:33 I'm pretty sure a shot like that, acting it and filming and editing it both, are a lot harder to do like that than it looks.
"Are you ready for WAR?!" "YES!" "Ok where did i put that drumstick?" Edit- What the heck is so funny? I'm actually surprised that people like this comment.
Rafi Phalasava H actually it kinda does sound like that, and they’re a lot of anime openings and nintendo music that also sound simular to that, but I can’t put my finger on it. Kinda irritates me, when you feel or hear something familiar but have no fucking clue what it is.
