I often get sick to my stomach thinking about how big chain music stores destroy perfectly good instruments to prevent people from dumpster diving for them. I think about it far too much.
Oscar Schmidt designs the guitars, my favorite guitar was made by him, all natural wood with clear coats electric with a thin neck and really smooth, just seemed top notch, wish I knew the model exactly
The items I keep in my house are items I have affinity for. Years ago, I bought a great desk at a thrift store for $30. All the drawers are dovetailed and solid wood, it's got two pull out writing slats. It's a banker's desk. When I bought it, I refinished it in a Cherry stain. I should refinish it again but am too lazy.
I live in a big city. I used to walk to work. I would take short cuts; ide the coolest stuff in the garbage. I’m now, picking it up, and selling it on-line. What ever is going on, people are dumping their “stuff” and leaving this town. My motto is: take care of what you got. You only need one good pair of shoes, one good coat, etc. it’s nuts. Today I’m found a Vitamix. A 400 dollar blender.
