Honestly Hughie has the most respect from me from this group because unlike the rest he’s still scared of homelander but just hates the guy so much that he’s willing to power through that fear just to make a point.
Cuz his wife protected him from Home lander and now after her death , his boy is protecting Butcher from Homelander . He didn't kill butcher bcz their loved ones say so
You can’t fear someone you can kill and can’t kill you so Soldier Boy doesn’t really count. Edgar and Butcher can be killed easily yet they don’t care.

@@tragra5803 Temp V gives real Superpowers regardless if it's inferior or superior with Compound V, it's not like the powers came from a weapon or something. Even if Butcher get a real compound V he would likely manifest the same powers that temp V would granted him with the only difference being permanent. Temp V give different powers depending on the person and even if the same person use a temp V again that same person would gain the same powers again in other words the powers given is unique. The powers given to Butcher by Temp V is his "real superpowers". And no, Temp V doesn't give superpowers more inferior than the real compound V given to an infant. Butcher's superpowers is high tier enough that he can kill any lower class supes easily except for Homelander (and Soldier Boy) because Homelander is build different even among other supes.
Stan Edgar is the least afraid of Homelander. That’s why he’s still alive, Homelander’s seeks approval and he turns into a baby without it. That’s along the lines of what Stan said to him
Hughie definitely fears Homie but he loves Starlight enough to step to him when he disrespected her honor… Which is far more impressive than not fearing him. Also Neuman is terrified. She just knows how to play her role like any good politician.

Everyone thinking Neumann was scared of Homelander forgets that out of everyone on this list, he had to BUY her with that V for her daughter. He couldn't bully or intimidate her. Even when he nearly choked her out, she was calm and did what she had to do.

Hughie’s got balls of steel because all the others they don’t fear Homelander at ALL. Meanwhile, Hughie KNOWS that he’s afraid, and when Homelander isn’t around he’s constantly afraid. But when the moment comes, he powers through the fear to stand up to him.
