As someone that has severe intrusive thoughts, people really gotta learn the difference between impulsive and intrusive. Intrusive thoughts are not nearly as nice.

Ok so i just want to clarify the difference between intrusive vs impulsive thoughts, the things in this video are all impulsive thoughts, intrusive thoughts would be for example you seeing a child in a street and suddenly imagining yourself killing that child and hiding the body, intrusive thoughts are not funny and people that suffer with them can develop depression because of it

A lot of these are just impulsive thoughts, not intrusive.. Intrusive thoughts are more along the lines of thinking about harming someone, or yourself, or thinking about death - like planes crashing from the sky when you see them. smacking eggs on a table is an impulsive thought

just an insight, it is not intrusive thoughts but impulsive. intrusive thoughts are really unwanted by a person, something that doesn't align with their morals and causes them anxiety. this topic is something heavily overlooked by the media unfortunately, but it should be regarded in a serious manner because people really struggle with these thoughts.

Out of curiosity, what is the distinction between impulsive and intrusive thoughts? When I hold a lightbulb I feel the urge to throw it up and down, would that be impulsive and when I am driving but feel the urge to swivel off road or smtn is that intrusive? Thanks

@@CWonderworld no need to thank me. I am someone who struggles quite a bit with intrusive thoughts as well, so I would like the media to handle the terms impulsive and intrusive with care. These terms are completely different and should be treated as such, especially nowadays, I realise the importance of this as someone who experiences the anxiety accompanied by these thoughts often. ☺️
