Mahua ji is fighting to protect our democracy as well as fighting to keep a boundary for women's rights. Her personal life, insofar as it doesn't contain criminal activities, should be nobody's business. Whether it is criminal or not should only be the police's business, not everybody's. As a collectivist society, we are too nosy. We should learn the concept of privacy and respect other peoples' right to privacy. It's now part of constitutional law in India. We have no excuse to ignore it.

I totally agree with her. These semi-literates on the forefront of right-wing are doing a great dis-service to the cause. Instead of questioning her why a disproportionately large number of her questions were focused on Adani and business interests of Hiranandani and few on her supposedly backward constituency (where there is no internet for connecting to the parliament portal) these idiots went after her personal life. And she conveniently picked up those while side-stepping those about her integrity.
It is irrelevant what a person smokes, drinks, eats, wears or has relationships with. It is important that as an MP the charges of graft and compromising the national security were openly accepted by this person.

When someone is holding a public figure and responsibilities, their moral character also needs to be morally correct.
