I hate the "pinching a nerve on the neck" one. That means none of us are safe. You could legit just be sleeping and oops unbearable pain and no ability to move when you wake up
That happened to me last month. Nothing as severe as that guy had it but when I woke up in the morning and tried to move my head there was intense pain in my neck and couldn't move it without having the feeling of passing out , I woke up my girlfriend and made her pick my body up . The pain lasted for 3 days but as much as it hurt I just kept stretching my neck muscles by turning left and right and in circles, got better after doing that for 2 days.
I had that last summer but not as bad. I just woke up and I was in so much pain and I couldn't move most of my upper body without wanting to vomit or pass out. I thought I was gonna die but sadly I'm still here
I had one in the back of my head for keeping my head in one position while sleeping funny, they aren't fatal i believe, they are normal and sometimes you need surgery for it.. i just hate that part because im to lazy to get operated on and wouldn't go at all:))
Dude sometimes I can’t sleep and take Benadryl and melatonin, just the least to do the job. As I was falling asleep, I was on my side and somehow cut off blood flow to my arm. When I woke up just a few minutes later I legit could not move or feel my hand. I was FREAKING out just shouting omg omg omg omg. Thankfully sensation returned after like 2 minutes but it was F*CKING scary. I only took one pill of each that night but I endeavor never to do so again, even though it probably isn’t contraindicated. I also never sleep in a strange position.
Met this kid who was about 15 and had be in 3 fatal car crashes. All the deaths were other people in the car he was in. That’s gotta be some pretty crazy odds
@@jacobchang7955 Damn, wish that was the same here in Australia. People get pissed off when a kid wins something when they're not supposed and they redraw the tickets again to see who wins. It happened recently too. Some kid bought a ticket and won a lamborghini but had to take it back cause he wasn't legally allowed to drive it at 16 cause of the power restriction laws.
@@j_edwards6075 If I was that kid and won a Lambo and they threatened to take it away from me, I would have my parents fight to keep it. Hopefully they hire a good lawyer and sue them for an absurd amount of money, then say to my parents "Daddy, I want a Ferrari instead!" just to rub it in their face, and be a rich kid. ;)
I have lexical-gustatory synesthesia as well! Mines more with colors than words though. For example reddish-browns leave a warm, bitter taste in my mouth. The word 'jail' is like fresh spring water in jelly form (best way to describe it is those edible water bottles??). I try not to think about it too much as it gets incredibly overwhelming on top of the other forms of (common) synesthesia I have (words/sounds with colors and mental maps) :')
Mx.Oktopus and this is the human version Human: I love you with all of my aww a heart Other human: sorry my aww a heart is meant for someone else Human: and that is how she broke my aww a heart
Coral snakes actually inflict dry bites an estimated 50% of the time, however being bitten in the first place is rare, as they really don't bite unless thoroughly provoked (I guess you stepped on him a little too hard). That being said, it would have been very unlikely that you die within 2 hours, had the bite not been dry.
I have a ear condition that, to the knowledge of every doctor I’ve ever seen, has only ever occurred in me. It has caused all my ear hairs to incorporate unusual compounds into their structure. Somehow, this has made my sense of hearing superhuman. I can literally hear the heartbeats of people around me. (P.S.) I was making chicken parmigiana as I was watching this! Another one in a million!
Mangocakegurl I’ve been used to it for a long time. It’s really not that bad. Also forgot to mention I can echolocate pretty well, especially underwater.
I had a molar pregnancy. Nearly killed me. None of the doctors at the ER had any idea what was inside my uterus. I think they thought I was pregnant with aliens or something... They kinda treated me like a freak show, pulling in random nurses etc to look at my ultrasounds. It felt violating. Anyways they hospital finally found someone who knew what it was and how to treat it. The new doctor told me if I didn’t get surgery within 48 hours I’d start hemorrhaging, and cancer would start spreading to potentially every single organ in my body. Which would mean years of chemotherapeutic treatments. I had surgery the next morning at like six am. I had to do follow up appointments for a entire year. Twice a week for three months, once a week for another three, once every other week for three and once every two weeks.
I live in Australia so uno snakes whatnot I live with them. Anyway, it's actually quite common for snakes to drybite instead of actually inject venom. Like 2 out of 3 bites are dry
My mum was born at 30wks (10wks early) in 1960, with mild spinal bifida to a mother in her 40s and a dad in his 50s, she was hospitalised for three weeks because she was severely jaundice and her parents went into find her covered in her own urine, she was wet to her hair where they’d not been caring for her, they’d almost just left her to die, her parents cared for her at home and she grew to not have any issues from her spinal bifida. Maddisun 10 born at 30 weeks with my twin, way too light and was blue cos I was crushed and I couldn’t breathe. I also had a hole in my heart (dunno how big). After I got my breath, I acted like a normal newborn. Apparently it was a miracle that I survived. It was like a 50 to 80 percent mortality rate for me. A few months later, my twin got septicaemia. She survived too. But it was a 20 to 40 percent mortality rate for her. Still a miracle tho
My mother got struck by an lightning when she was pregnant of me, good thing that the only side effect is that i got ADHD and Epilepsy but ok, i still alive
maybe not 1 in a million, but it definitely FEELS like it. i was at a small concert, and one of the guitarists in the band i was seeing threw his pick into the crowd. at that same moment, i went to put my hand up to wave at him, and managed to catch it perfectly without trying. i still cant believe it happened, im a HORRIBLE catch. it was the very first time seeing them live, and also my first proper concert. my friend who was with me told me it wasnt the first time she had been standing drectly beside someone who caught a pick. it was frank iero and the cellabration if anyone cares or knows them, and ill be seeing them again this june!
when I was like six I wanted to call my grand parents but I didn't know their number, I decided why not try to call anyways and actually got the right number Edit: i was calling because I learned to tie my shoes
I don’t know how common it is, But I’ve had Cholinergic Urticaria since I was 5. Basically, I’m allergic to heat, it sucks for taking hot baths, showers or doing anything outside during Summer
Me too, I used to have to sit with an umbrella while everyone else played sports. Thankfully, I haven’t had an incident in a while, so I’ve been able to do more physical activities.
This happened to me once at a truck stop McDonald's. My friend got one first & I couldn't believe it. I got mine & it was magical, but not as good as an m&m mcflurry.
I was taking a geometry test with the ones that doesn’t have a multiple choice answer and I had no fucking clue how to do it. So I just guessed a number and somehow ended up getting it correct (I figured it was a 2-3 digit number)
I was going to meet a friend, I called to his house just to double check the day before, a lady answers and the phone call goes on like this. - Hello - Hello, are you (Friend's name)'s mom? - Yes, who is it? - I'm Santi, just wanted to double check for tomorrow's meeting. - Oh yeah, I've got the movie you guys wanted to watch - Movie? - Yes, you really wanted to watch it. - What was your name again? - *Says wrong name* - ... Wrong number, sorry. And I ended the call. Now, I don't know how unlikely it is for not only my name and her son's to match, but also the meeting's date, but I guess one in a million is not really far from it.
I was in a car crash. I survived with no injuries. So did my brother. All I remember was police cars, my dad, my mom and her friend, and 2 very wonderful old people. The ambulance was useless.
A long time ago I started taking an antipsychotic that paralyzed my epiglottis. I could not swallow properly and it became dangerous. That side effect from the medicine had only been recorded one other time, on an extremely high dose (something like 200mg) I had just started it and was only taking about 30mg. I’m absurdly sensitive to meds. I didn’t even need antipsychotics to begin with either
I can relate to the second story. I slept wrong one night and wound up straining/pulling (I forgot which) my hamstring and I woke up the next morning to find myself on the living room floor (we were moving and our beds had just moved so we were on the floor for a few days) crawling out from underneath my covers unable to move my legs without pain. My mom thought I was just faking and told me to get up and when she tried to help me up I screamed and she got the idea. I couldn't walk for a week.
Bacon's Revenge Reminds me of Charley Horses... I get those all the time, and it’s one of the worst pains I’ve ever experienced. It happens a lot, but it freaks me out and I can’t help but cry because it hurts so bad
Once when I was I think 10-11, I was home alone and my parents would only be back at 6pm (it was 9am). I pinched a nerve and was stuck there, for 9 hours, in extreme pain. It h u r t s
I was a triplet in the womb. One of my triplet siblings died very early on in the pregnancy, and the other was discovered dead on a routine checkup some time later. I can't remember the details of it, but they must have assumed or thought me dead as well, because my mother was scheduled for scraping us all out. It was thanks to my mom's doubts that they checked one last time just before they started the procedure, and then discovered I was still alive in there. I could've died helplessly that day to a human error, so every day since is a bonus.
The luckiest thing to EVER happen to me, was finding two, yes TWO shiny pokemon in a row. Literally. Found a shiny gastly, caught it, left to check it's stats in a Center, went back to the same area, first pokemon to encounter was another shiny gastly. Alpha Sapphire for anyone wondering.
Awesome job I love terraria I once had to search in a DIFFERENT world (The first one was large and the second was to)and the first shadow chest I looked there was a drax
guy at 14:00 just wanted to flex. even the most selective scholarships, such as the robertson or rhodes scholarships, are only like a one in 5 to 10 thousand chance
I have an eye condition called phvp basically I have glaucoma in my left eye and had a caterac in it to and had surgery witch left me blind in my left eye I need to wear glasses because of my right eye and need to take eye drops to control my eye pressure so needless to say my condition is pretty rare lol Edit: also have night blindness and need to use a cane my condition really isn’t that bad to live with senes I’ve had it my whole and have been able to adapt to my lack of depth perception I also learned brake out of it too so that’s cool tkdr: I have a rare eye condition that causes me to be blind in one eye and have night blindness so now I know brail
my brother has type B leukemia and was the third person in the united states (recorded) to have a tumor due to it. (he’s okay now, recovering and going through chemo)
I don’t know if this is a 1 in a 1.000.000 thing, but I am a girl who has changed school four times, where the last time ended up in a pretty great and average school, however, my class, AND ONLY MINE, have 15 boys and no other girls But, I would never change a thing, because I love these guys
I’m really late D: this is a good one I swear- Before I was born I had an umbilical artery aneurysm, which I looked up a couple weeks ago. Apparently there have been only like 14 cases, and 4/14 actually made it. Idk. Maybe I was reading the wrong report, but holy shit. Also mom had cervical cancer MANY years before she had me, but it caused her to be hospital-bound for a month before I was born, and I still came 7 weeks early. So those two unrelated issues caused me to be able to die at any moment. With cervical cancer, wanted to hold off on delivery for as long as possible. For aneurysm, wanted to deliver as soon as possible. I’m still amazed about those odds, and I only learned about this in the last few weeks. Mom also had no idea, she just knew I might die. She freaked tf out when I showed her. And a family member has autoimmune enteropathy, which you can look up for the rarity of that cus I’m tiredddd(spoiler only like 30 peeps have had it) I could probably win America’s Got Talent based solely on this sob story even tho I’m fine now (mostly)
I was born the 13th of January (if that counts as the 13th month?) at 13 hours (1 pm). Sadly there was no room 13 because people think they give bad luck so I was in the 14th room of the hospital. I also turned 13 on Friday the 13th, and I was born on a Tuesday which is also an unlucky day in my country.
Aren't you guys lucky.....I always get the lowest possible score on my math test 😭.... except for the second semester I got the highest score for.... basically guessing Everything
My mom has green eyes, which is pretty rare (1-2% of all humans), but has the brown spot in the middle. My dad has baby blue eyes, which is pretty common. I was born with baby blue eyes, and now my eyes are turning green.. but since they're still turning it's like a gray-ish hazel compound. No one knows how to describe my eyes.. I say "what color are my eyes?" "Blue" "No, gray" "Green!" "It's blue green.." "Green brown." "Grayish blue!" "Gray-green, guys." *I* don't even know my own eye color. Edit: I'm also allergic to borax. I don't know how common that is.
@@EpicGamer-jh7nw I must just hatch a shit tonne of chickens then. Cause I used to get the quad chickens at least once a day when hatching like a dozen stacks of eggs.
I've had it practically since I was born and I don't even notice the clicking the majority of the time...as a consequence I have had ringing in my ears from since about the same time. The ringing is more annoying to me...
At 17 I was diagnosed with a rare brain cancer, cases are usually in elderly patients. It was found because I had a car accident and wrapped my car around a tree.
I was playing halo with a random group of strangers and my power went out for a hot minute and i lost connection with them and couldn’t find them. So i cut my losses and went to the local pool with my friend. Were waiting in line for the diving boards and we were talking to this one group of people who seemed chill. Turns out they were the same kids i was playing online with earlier
I read a story of a kid who wasn't vaccinated and lived to be 18. As soon as he turned 18 he went and got vaccinated because he was now an adult and didn't need his parents. Its a miracle he made it.
HELLO! I FINALLY HAVE A STORY TO TELL! SO! I’m one of the only 32 people in the US to need to regrow roots in their teeth. I murdered my roots by falling face first into tile. I need to find all 31 of these others and bond with them.
I cannot imagine a situation quite as surreal as waiting in a hospital room for developments with your ailment just to realize the nurse had actually entered the room to collect your corpse.
One time at my school they were doing interviews of what kids did over the summer. They started interviewing me and someone came up and made a bizzare loud noise right in my ear. Naturally, without thinking, I turned and shrieked the same noise back to him. I was used to responding to sounds with sounds because that’s what me and my friends do. I went back to the interview not realizing how weird this was but the interviewer and the random guy started laughing. It wasn’t a real interview, the statistics class was testing how much of the population would get surprised and what wouldn’t. I was the 1% that just yelled back in the dudes face like that’s a normal thing to do.
I could’ve graduated at 16 as well since I was a year ahead, but I failed one year bc horrible mental health and my grandma passing away. The bright side is that I graduated on time at least :)
My vision is so good that when I had to read letters off one of those charts to determine how good my eyesight was my doctor literally had me go out down the hallway to see if I could read the large print at the top. I saw I could read it too easily backed up and read the bottom line. She was very shocked and I think she suspected I memorized the bottom line up close so she just moved on. I did not memorize it.
About a year ago I had a ear infection in both ears and went deaf for 3 weeks. It was terrible but it’s fixed now, i could only hear VERY, VERY loud shouts into my ear. I’m talking like big truck drag race noises. It was actually pretty easy to get by and I got to stay home from school and I didn’t get to hear my brother raging really hard on Fortnite. It’s not really 1 in a million but it’s interesting. When I told my friends through writing they didn’t believe me, then they asked my mum and realised I wasn’t lying. btw I told them at church, not school.
I was born prematurely. My mum had some internal bleeding and the doctors rushed her to c-section. They had no idea I was going to survive. But here I am.
i got a 1 in a million story. a girl on my campus [of roughly 40k some odd students or more] who had epilepsy threatened me because she thought i was hitting on her. her dog was cute and i was saying hi being epileptic myself. over the course of the semester i ran into her by complete coincidence literally tree times each week to the point she accused me of stalking her. this is the same person on a campus of 40k students and i take direct and hidden paths to get to classes that nobody else knows of [fire escapes and climbing buildings] and i run into the same girl 3 times a week on average for over four months in a row. what are the odds of that?
my father literally had 3 car accidents within 30 minutes. 1st time he drove, hit a ice platter and fell down into a about 3 meter ditch, turned his car into a small creek (luckily low on water). they got out, were picked up by another mate that was driving behind them and wanted to take them to the hospital. within 5 minutes of the first crash, the friend managed to wrap the car sideways around a tree cause of (surprise, ICE!). still no one really hurt (almost a miracle). THIRD friend shows up, picks them up and manages to run into the police car that was responding to the call about two wrecked cars. well the third impact finally managed to injure everyone (including the two cops). all of that happened within about 25-30 minutes. the ice in the road was so bad that night that two more police cars, an ambulance and even a firetruck slipped of the road on the way to the crash site. nothing serious happend luckily. but just 2 day later my fathers brother landed in the same ditch my father did cause of ice on the road. only problem he was going about 40 km/h faster and died on impact. welp
At uni I lived in a flat with a guy who was an editor for a fairly new website. One morning I walked past his open bedroom door to the kitchen for breakfast. He excitedly spun round in his chair as I passed and said "Guess how many views our website got in the last hour!". Without thinking I fired out a random 4 digit number. He just looked at me in stunned silence and asked "have I already spoken to you today?". He hadn't. Turns out I got it bang on.
I have a lot of weird/rare things but the most unusual is probably that I was diagnosed with Tilted Disc Syndrome. It's a rare birth defect that means the optic discs in the backs of my eyes are tilted, which causes my optic nerves to enter my eyes at a weird angle.
I was struck by lightning while walking to school in the rain. My friends ran up to me from the bus stop and when I woke up, I stood up, mumbled something, then lightning struck a tree right next to us, causing electricity to arc through the ground into us. We were all knocked unconscious for 27 minutes, but made the bus because the kind bus driver called the ambulance when he got there as we were around 3 metres from the stop. We were all fine except for some difficulty to talk for a day or two, and we all have awesome lightning shaped scars up our legs, and I have large ones all over my back.
actually this wasnt me but was my sister. she got married about a year ago and she and her husband were pregnant about a month ago with their first child. her husband [lets call him "steve"] and her got into a rear end collision and they ended up in the hospital for a day. her husband had some tests done and they were told they needed to run more tests, when my sister and steve asked why the doctor said that steve had symptoms of Granulomatosis with polyangiitis. this is crazy because it only affects like 3-4 out of every 1million people. and what takes the cake is that they lived in one of the ONLY three locations in the united states that specialized in treating the disease. steve literally had one of the rarest and most fatal diseases on the planet and was in the one place in the entire united states that could treat him. apparently the stories are true..... once you get married your life is over.
