This device is pending Verizon certification so activation may not work for a new account but you can give Verizon a portable hotspot imei for activation then simply move the sim over to Pepwave after activatiom and the Verizon account will auto update to the correct imei/device. This is a workaround until certification is complete which takes 60-90 days typically as Verizon is pretty slow. This unit is the replacement for the max br1 mk2 which was priced at 599. Peplink priced this unit at 579 with all the same features plus a 3 year warranty when you buy the feature pack (579 total price). They then made the decision to offer the unit to customer who did not need wan/wifi wan/auto failover for 100 dollars less at 479. The net result was more choices for customers and a lower price point for more features then the previous generation mk2. Great question!

only one sim card will work at a time. The second sim slot is used for failover if the first on is out of coverage or runs out of data (if the plan has limits)

@@ricklewis1798 this unit is wifi 5, apologies our marketing team replied incorrectly before. For wifi 6 look at the max br1 pro or an optional access point.
