I admire your approach to addressing projects that haven't quite worked.

In this session, we get the true measure of your maturity, as a knitter. 🐻🐻🐻 Knitting is not smooth sailing every day. It certainly hurts to unravel the work. But your reflections on what went on, garment by garment, is really very educative for us. 🐻🐻🐻 Thank you wholeheartedly for producing this show.

I agree with what Maureen O'Flanagan is writing. The life of a knitter can be tough. 💂‍♂💂‍♂ Excellent advice. 💂‍♂💂‍♂

This is showing another aspect of being a knitter: what to do when, what had been a thrilling project, a treasured 'work in progress', end up remaining on the hanger, and we don't wear them ?? 🌧🌧🌧 You brilliantly recovered the situation by finding a better project for the yarn. It certainly takes courage to put the idea into practice, though. For me, ripping down the Springfling Tee would be such a heartbreak !!!!! But if you make something better, out of it, then the yarn is not wasted. The life of a knitter can be tough !!

The theme of this episode changes the mood, compared to the usual ones. But it is necessary. Thank you for doing it. 🔋🔋🔋🔋🔋 The case of the Springfling Sweater : what a new life you are giving to that yarn ! ! Complete change of style, from Springfling to the Oh ! My Figure Dress ! The transformation is .... Wow ! 🔋🔋🔋🔋

In this episode, it is the hour of judgement, for those garments ! ! It shows you really thought about their problems, long and deep. I learned a lot. Thank you.

You are a very strong woman ! ! You are very resourceful, about facing the reality, when a piece of clothing has not fulfilled its mission in your wardrobe. That means making a decision about fixing or unraveling to save the yarn. 🥊🥊 You are strong, because if we obey the law of the least effort, it is status quo. Then we accumulate a graveyard of projects that have not worked, by they remain useless. Bravo for the courage and practical sense !! ⚾⚾

I admire your candor and honesty about the garments that didn't turn out the way you wanted. It takes courage to unravel. . At least you avoid the accumulation of a clutter of things you don't use, and you give the yarn a second chance. ⛪⛪

You drive it home, Emily ! ! There is no point keeping knits that don't serve their purpose, for years on end. Well done.

Very true! It’s a shame for perfectly good yarn to not get the use it deserves

I think you can DEFINITELY knit the zipper man using the pattern you already have, it's not necessary to buy the light version. I knitted 2 zipper sweaters, one for a man and another for myself in different yarn weights and they turned out great using the original zipper sweater pattern. I just had to adapt a few things but nothing too crazy or difficult to do

For the Safran cotton, I wonder if you could just sew the bottom and make a lining instead of frogging it. Or steek it to be a pillow case :) I find the fit of petit knitter sweaters tend to be a bit weird and not flattering although I found her color/motif very beautiful.
@pepperknits
@pepperknits Месяц назад
That is such a brilliant idea! I was over eager and already frogged it but I wish I had done that instead 😅 And a good perspective on the fit of the petite knitters designs, I’ll keep that in mind :)

This was a great program to watch !! 🍓🍓 I have not been a knitter for long, yet, and your insight, regarding clothes that you made but are not wearing, is important for me to keep in mind. When we elaborate a project, we need to think ahead in the future: 'Will I still like this in a year ?' Thank you.🍓🍓🍓

I understand the way in which the Springfling and the Tolsta Tee disappointed you: they are not practical, in your wardrobe, for you to wear ( because of climate, etc ). 💔 But it is probably breaking your heart, thinking of the time, effort, and dream that were put into them, many months ago. I wish the second starts with the yarn, will turn into something you love.🍂🍂

It breaks my heart to hear that the Springfling Tee was not a good match. . But I understand what you say, that is was heavy and did not quite fulfill its mission, in your wardrobe. . You had made it very well, though.

Love your no frills sweater, the color is beautiful! i still havent tried KFO merino + their mohair and I just hope I can tolerate it on my skin. I know that the softest mohair is Lang Mohair 21, and I want to try that one a lot.

You had to make hard decisions about those garments. Tough Tough. Your high standards are showing here again. Obviously, the climate you live in needs to be factored in. I admire your practical and imaginative approach to the problems. 💬💬💬💬

i think you should cut/frog the colorwork on the Kerr sweater and get some of the same yarn in a different color. Could you gift the no frills and tanktop? trade maybe? they are gorgeous pieces and it hurts my heart for all that work to disappear. The stipey tolsta you could rip back the collar and just add some more shortrows to the back, right? and opt for a different finish if you wanted:) I made my first sweater with mohair earlier this year and i dont think ill work with it for a long time.. its itchy and icky:( maybe we should both destash the yarn that doesnt work for us and get to really enjoy our future projects?
