Do you use Iberogast in your practice for SIBO? It contains peppermint, and the combination of herbs is supposed to increase gastrointestinal motility. Contains: Bitter candytuft: (Iberis amara) Angelica root: (Angelicae radix) Milk thistle fruit: (Silybi mariani fructus) Celandine herb: (Chelidonium majus) Caraway fruit: (Carvi fructus) Liquorice root: (Liquiritiae radix) Peppermint herb: (Menthae piperitae folium) Balm leaf: (Melissae)
Great video as always! So grateful that you always cover the adverse effects as well so we can be fully informed. Thank you for that! Please make a video on gastritis and deep burping, h pylori, etc basically upper GI symptoms 🙏
Hey Todd, a video on the concept of carminatives in general might be handy. What you brought up at the end of this video is a contentious topic in the SIBO and GERD/ Gastritis communities. I’ve seen many different takes on carminatives and their positive or negative impacts on GERD. Ginger has long been hailed as the answer to GI upset but one of the first pieces of advice given in r/gastritis is to stay away from all carminatives including coffee, cocoa, ginger, peppermint and so forth. That advice 100% applies to me. I triggered my GERD by using ginger extract as a Prokinetic. Similarly “Mintec” peppermint oil tablets for bloating lead to me tasting and feeling that peppermint in the oesophagus. I’m yet to see a RU-vid video explaining how specifically the carminatives impact the LES in order to either open or close it. Some RU-vidrs say relaxing it helps it close. Others say relaxing it is why it is allowing reflux to take place. None seem to explain the biology or chemistry behind it.
Yes! Great input. Its pretty complex and patient to patient but there are some foundational pieces that can be helpful. The gastritis bit can be a tough one as it can flare when you try to treat things further down the GI tract. Lets dive in!
@@ByronHerbalist everything seems to be going great, except about 10 days in and the constipation is back and the magnesium wasn’t helping as much like it was before, I’ve added the turkey rhubarb and then added vit c. Which is helping but not sure why it’s doing that 🤔 should I lower or increase anything like the garlic or Berberine? Or take a break? As long as I keep things moving I feel great. Thanks so much 😊😊😊
I love your videos!! I try not to do any colors or excess fillers in my supplements, do you have a second recommendation for peppermint oil enteric? Or even a tincture. I’ve started with turkey rhubarb and Allicyn and loving it so far!!
Any advice for someone who does get reflux from peppermint? Lowering yeast has helped a lot with reflux/ esophagitis/ gastritis for me, so if I could ever wipe out the yeast fully, the reflux would likely be gone (when I did do fluconazole, and it did kill down the yeast, I got reflux from basically nothing, until I had to take antibiotics again)
It sounds like your stomach Ph is too low. I did a Apple Cider Vinegar treatment daily until my GERD stopped. If it is a Ph problem, you will start to fell better in 3-4 day of taking the ACV. Blessings🕊️
If you have gerd or stomach issues, it could be h pylori overgrowth. H pylori needs to be eradicated before any sibo treatment. Broccoli sprouts killed my h pylori in 3 weeks. I made a quick video on my channel about how to take it.
PLEASE 🙏 I NEED HELP YOU SENT ME SOME ONE IM IN USA PATRICIA AND LARRY!! I NEED TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE ABOUT SIBO IMO SIFO MOTILITY FOOD SENSIBILITY S VERY BAD SUFFERING I WAS TOLD ON MY Other PHONE. There are lots of videos on RU-vid that are very specific as to symptoms correlating to type of SIBO/SIFO and what are successful medicines to treat each kind. It is awful, I wish you the best in recovering
@@ByronHerbalistAppreciate the reply. I have learned greatly from your videos. Too bad you're not based in the US. Interesting on the Tincture vs the Oil. I think most people would be getting the enteric coated oil capsules.
