It just makes too much sense once our brains engage what you so brilliantly explained. You're earned a new subscriber, and I'm very picky and outspoken. I will share and hopefully others can become better communicators, I know I will. Hoping you will have a quiet weekend.

Thank you. I appreciate the high praise. (These are hard to do.) It amazes me that people (other than my students) watch these videos. I hope they are valuable to whoever watches them.

Patricia Jenkinson After all, you're on RU-vid. By any chance, do you offer any online courses?
@PatriciaJenkinson
@PatriciaJenkinson 6 лет назад
Working on it. I teach a hybrid public speaking class (half in class and half online). Prepping for a hybrid interpersonal class (this video is part of my interpersonal class). But, it's difficult to justify a fully online interpersonal communication class--you lose the richness of the face-to-face communication. (I'm on RU-vid because my students say that is where they would prefer to access these videos.)
@alvaroakatico9188
@alvaroakatico9188 6 лет назад
Patricia Jenkinson Ahh, that makes sense. If you keep it up, you might be moneytized on RU-vid for your services. I know a friend who has well over 10K subs on car repair, and RU-vid pays him for views and how many people click on the ads they run on his channel. I know your time is valuable, so I'll let you go.

Not having any formal education I wasn’t taught how to or follow group think so my opinion is coming purely from observation I fail to see in any of these videos the roles emotional state plays in filtering our brains ability to accept information even when it is clearly present Are we supposed to walk around in a constant state of equilibrated emotion state and even if we are once we interpret the information the emotional filters eliminate already input information Try telling some on an emotional charged state that they should change their feelings because they are not accepting all of the facts

Wonderful video although that last sentence completely detracts from what the rest of the video is about. "There is no truth only perception" wut? Theres still the object of perception. Theres still WHAT HAPPENED or what system of nature is in effect and then theres the perception of that occurrence as a separate objective event. So theres perception and then there really is the objective truth as the object of perception. lauguage's and communications purpose is to communicate truth first and foremost not JUST for communication's sake alone.
@PatriciaJenkinson
@PatriciaJenkinson 8 месяцев назад
You are correct; the last line is a caution to those who think they always know the truth. It's still their perception, which may not be the truth.
@mentally_illest_radio
@mentally_illest_radio 8 месяцев назад
@@PatriciaJenkinson i just dont like that he phrases it as a false absolute; there is NO truth, ONLY perception. very opposite of the cautionary warning about keeping limited perspective in mind when you claim to know
