This was a nice video. Very easy to install. I have Yak Gear rod holders to in my kayak too. I love how they have the hook so I can attach your leash rod to it. Very nice job you did Sir. I also like how you did the job Barefooted 👣 too. I am 95% of the time barefooted 👣 too. I have big very very wide feet sz15 6 EEEEEE wide with very fat wide toe that are equally straight across making my foot very very extremely wide. With all of my toes being straight across and very fat it make my foot 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe and they do not make a shoe , sock , or boot that's wide enough to fit my foot. Good video thank you for sharing.
Larry Talbot I buy lots of stuff off eBay but a lot of the stuff for my Pilot I've gotten from Austin Kayak (ack.com). Good prices and free shipping for purchases over $39. They also give you a coupon for signing up for their newsletter
hey, I wan to add a rod holder like this to my Pescador T100 but I am wondering about the rivet, don't they need a washer on the other side to work. Are rivets included on the rod holder?
I bet the guy who installed your Landing Gear is cussing up a storm watching this video. If you would have done the rod holders first/at the same time, the install of the BooneDox would have been easier. Well done and looking good!
FireRob 52 yeah I didn't even think about that until I got the rod holders in. Initially I wasn't going to add the rod holders though cause I have the 3 on the crate. They're just not easy to get to with my arm being out of commission
They would be if I had two good arms and was able to turn around and use my arm to give me a little leverage. Arm is doing ok I guess. Started physical therapy this week and had a MRI on my shoulder cause there's a good possibility I've torn some stuff when the initial injury occurred. I am actually taking it easy which is a new concept for me as I'm usually 110% or asleep, I don't usually do things at half speed so this has been different. Thanks for asking though!
I have a Pescador Pro120 and installed three flush mounts behind the seat as well. I put a 2" thick seat cushion on my seat which raises me up-I also sit side saddle with my feet in the water quite a bit. This helps me get rods easer and also has the added benefit of not having to worry about snagging my stored rods on my back-cast.
I see the landing gear stick out and wrap around the kayak. On your Pescador Pilot...What is the maximum width with the Boone Dox landing gear down and you wheeling it around?
@ConcessionSinks we raised the back portion of the seat up and it helped a lot. I just used a 2x6 that was about 14" long and attached 2 rubber light holders used for holding a rear navigation light for boats. The seat rail fits perfectly and feels a lot better. Cost me about ten bucks.
Thank you for pointing that out! 5,300+ views and you are the first one to catch that, or at least call me out on it. Guess I had YakAttack on the brain.
