Perch madness at Hanningfield reservoir part 1 

In this situation, I think I used 1gr. that spot was not very deep, and fish was very close to the wall. All depends on how far you want to cast, size of the lure, depth, wind, if you are sitting high or low on the bank. However, I think drop shot is probably the best way to approach any body of water because the bottom is usually covered with vegetation and dropshot will allow you to stay above that vegetation and present the lure in very natural way when it sinks down, plus you can keep the lure in one spot as long as you wish.

There is a big perch in there. You just need to know how to catch them. Yes, I have seen carp as well. Spring time, they are in the shallows spawning. You can see them very close to the bank.

Yes, 4 in total, but managed to capture only one on video. The rest were caught at last 1 hour and had no battery. Yesterday cooked one and they tasted horrible, I think is because of the low level of water.

@@hungryfish7352 ah i see. its strange they tasted bad… do you think maybe taking a boat and using a fishfinder out in the open you would have a higher chance?

@@hungryfish7352 I caught one trout in August here. It tasted like algae to me (only trout I've ever caught). I was expecting it to be like salmon which I enjoy, but it was like algae haha. Hopefully when I'm back and the water level is higher, they will taste better.

How much is it for a day bank fishing for perch ?

@@hutchozzz it's quite expensive. Over 25 quid from my memory but that's to catch and keep over 8 trout
