I love your channel Melissa. I came back to Percival after my last comment. I must say. I think it’s underrated. This fragrance isn’t a signature fragrance. I hold signature fragrance as something unique and high quality. But Percival is that MacGyver(I’m old but IYKYK) Swiss knife, Percival is that chef knife he uses countless times because it’s dependable in every situation. Percival may not be signature scent. But it’s definitely a daily driver do it all scent. It’s basically a high quality, great smelling cologne. Like if I had to describe what cologne was to someone who didn’t know. I would describe Percival. And the ladies love it. The opening in Percival is addictive to me. Once you start wearing it. You really get attracted to it. I think when my bottle is empty im re-up for sure! I think it’s worth it if you just want a high quality good for whatever cologne. Also I’ve tested it in cold weather in the high 40’s in the Midwest. It cuts through the cold. Which really impressed me for a fresh scent.
Update. Percival does take time to grow on you for you to like it. It took me some wears to actual understand the fragrance. I made the mistake of over spraying this fragrance. Come to find out this is an easy fragrance to go nose blind to. I own Layton, and Carlise. Out of the three. Percival is more of a signature/dumb/versatile scent to me. It’s great for everyday use work/gym/errands. While I save Layton and Carlise for date/night outings. Other than that Percival is a great freshie from PDM. The opening is fresh lavender/citrus smell to me which I like.
Just Subscribed I got the discovery set from PDM and after testing a couple of them, i can tell that you are being 100% honest, RU-vidrs with a bigger fanbase tend to react the sameway to all pdm fragrances, they all go "ooogh my good this smeels gooood, daaam" You don't, you to tell the truth Keept it going! you have everyting to become huge on yt!
@@josehottie7602 I actually have two bottles. The 4.2 and a 2.5 for travel. The 4.2 is at least two years old, 2.5 I bought about 6 months ago. You might be right. My 4.2 performs a bit better. I chalk it up to needing a sit for awhile. Hoping so.
I live on a hot tropical island where almost no one wears any fragrance, and I got like 35 bottles and change up often, percival and bleu de Chanel are the only ones I have received complements on, but I know people smell the scent but most people don’t speak up
Percival is mass appealing and one of my most complimented fragrance. This is a grown up version of its designer counterparts, smoother and refined. Can’t hate it for what it is and of course never pay retail, good deals can be had if you’re patient checking multiple discount sites. Having said that, I enjoy wearing Sedley and Greenly more than Percival specially on warmer days.
My first experience with percival was similar to yours. I wasn't impressed, thought it was boring and linear. After a few wearings I started picking up a bit more of the depth, complexity and quality such as the cinnamon and spices in the base. I then started getting many compliments every time I wore it and appreciating the versatility and it is now my most worn scent. I would say to give it a few more wearings.
Parfums De Marley has some real nice Bangers in their line-up. I wish they were more competitive in their pricing like Mancera. Tried Lafayette Street again with Molecule 01. This time I laid down 5 sprays of 01 "first" and then about 7 sprays of Lafayette Street. Got 10 hours of longevity this time as opposed to just 7 1/2 hours doing it the other way👍
Just a heads up, Lafayette St. (if your talking about Bond 9) is literally and i mean literally Dunhill Desire and we’re talking the 150ml for 25 dollars. Bond 9 def cloned them..
Fierce lasts for 1 hour. Had A&F decided to increase performance it would’ve cost on par with Percival. Agree that Percival is just longer lasting clone of Fierce.
Worst take I’ve ever heard, I went through 2 bottles of fierce and finally got percival, performance was not at all the only thing that improved. Everything was just simply better by a lot
I bought a sample, and I'm glad I did vs blind buying a full bottle. Hate to say it, but for me it's very ordinary / mediocre. Doesn't really distinguish itself from the hordes of fresh designer scents out there. I will give it this though... The longevity was incredible on me. 16 hours or so. I do love Sedley though.
Have a sample of Percival, I feel like Sedley is a nice in between of Greenly and Percival. Been testing Elysium as well but it’s a little too sweet for me. Sedley and Kalan are next on the list.
I felt this same way about lemale elixir. The dry down smells extremely similar to 360 black by Perry Eliss that which only costs 24$. The reason for the similarities is because they share a amber and tobaco note. Which is very pronounced in the dry down. For me the price of perry Eliss 360 black being a very good cheap alternative demystifies elixir for me☹️.
It's very basic but girl, the hedione in it when I smell it on a man is soooooooo good. I don't believe in genders etc when it comes to frag but for whatever reason, hedione especially in Percival smells so good on men instead of women.
Strange, on my skin it was changing a lot and it's actually kinda aquatic in the opening with a bit of pepper, it got more citric in the middle and had that tonkabean note in the drydown, which surprised me. It does have a lot of projection and sillage, especially for a fresh fragrance. You don't get that from any designer fragrance in my opinion. Is it mass appealing? Yes. But to me it does everything better than all the other perfumes with a similar DNA. 300$ sounds a bit much. I pay less than 200 (in Europe). And simply because it is a fragrance you basically cannot hate, you can literally wear it anywhere to any occasion. Is it worth the money? I think so, yes. I think it's pretty bold to say that this is only for people who are new to fragrances. Kinda sounds like you think that people who like it are just fragrance noobs ;)
Looking at picking up my first Parfums De Marly. Percival seems to be up my street possibly if i smell it and like it. If not i will try Sedley and Layton. Cheers all

I would personally go for Sedley, however at first you may think it's a bit boring, but once you wear it 4-5 times, you'll start to really enjoy and love this scent.

I own the Perfume Parlour clone version. It is very much a fierce/MB Legend cross over. It certainly carries that DNA. It's pleasant but not ground breaking. I wear it in the gym, just one spray on the neck does the job
Percival isn’t the best from the house. I have to over spray this. I have Layton and Carlise. This is very meh fragrance. It’s just a dumb reach for me store runs.. etc
Imagine spending $300 on a fragrance only to describe it as average. Hell, that's why I always buy clones from Perfume Parlour. They smell identical and you never have to worry about parting with $300🤣
This is a instant nose to the neck, eyes roll back whenever I wear it around girls. Seems like they find it very sexy. And I love to wear it as a girl myself. Sexy shower gel fresh that lasts and lasts

Thanks for the love Cara! To me, Sedley is more unisex. I still think Percival would smell good on women but it does smell like a more grown up version of fierce Abercrombie

I own older version as well as a new one with the sticker written 82%. Well the early version was dope. I need three sprays for the whole day and compliments were coming. Not sure about the new bottle yet, cause I received the package from PDM few days ago
I am using the new bottle from May 2023. The aroma is kind of OK, but have not received any compliments yet. I still believe the old batch was loaded with higher quality ingredients
What ???? how about the dry down? Thats where it really shines. All she smelled and addressed was the immediate opening. Ridiculous. This scent is an extremely well blended compliment monster. Opening is lavender citrusy and familiar. but soon dries down to a beautiful fresh, spicy, musky, high quality, woodsy accord. Amazing scent. Love this on warm days. it really opens up when your skin heats up. Gorgeous.
U cant watch reviewers like her for true in depth reviews of scents. Reviewers like her are not in any way professionals of fragrance or even anything close to it. Hell, they don’t even tell you the ingredients. Imo she is mostly on here for girls that like to wear mens cologne or unisex scents. Thats about it. U want a real in depth review on cologne “or the best u can get anyways” watch gent scents. He is pretty good at breaking a fragrance down and giving note break downs and dry downs and overall very informative.
