Percy Jackson: A Hero's Journey Documentary **REACTION** 

I know it’s been weeks since this documentary dropped, but I was finally able to sit down and watch it!!! I hope you enjoy. Tell me your favorite part of the documentary! ⬇️

the documentary makes me cry every time 😭, anyone who says the show was rushed or not cared for is dead wrong everyone on that set loves the story and that’s why it’s such a good adaptation

Things to remember for the budget 1. Relative to other Disney shows, this was a smaller budget 2. The cabins are there now, next season they don't need to build them again

One of my favorite parts in this was Leah talking about the fancy designer labels then cuts to Walker going $10 at goodwill 😅

While there are some valid critiques of this show out there, it is undeniable that every single person who worked on it really truly cared about it, and that to me is more important than a flawed script or any other issue people have with this show, and why it deserves to have all five seasons and this behind the scenes documentary makes me cry every single time I watch it

I read somewhere that the cabins are still up and are actually guarded by security

THANK YOU!! I’ve been so frustrated with all the negativity I’ve been seeing. So much of it isn’t even valid criticisms, it’s just an excuse for them to hate on something. I do think lots of people made up their mind before even watching it which is a real shame because they robbed themselves of having a good experience. PLEASE make a video about it! I have so much to say, like how people used the show as a scapegoat or an excuse to hate on Disney and say “this is what’s wrong with Disney” like Huh??? I really hope the kids and creators don’t get discouraged going into season 2 because they did a fantastic job. the only criticism I agree with, the ONLY one is that I wish the episodes were longer. That’s it. I loved every part of this show, so seeing so much hate is really disheartening.

I'm not on TikTok but I've seen RU-vid criticism actually saying "Where did the money go?" 🙄 And did you notice that people who complain about too much exposition don't PAY ATTENTION to said exposition, then complain that they're confused? At any rate, I'm 100 percent with you. Love the series. Thank you for your voice!!!

Hello Cam, I love behind the scene too and this documentary made me emotional. The show has some issues but doesn't deserve all the hate. For me, as a book reader, it was a wonderful journey and I couldn't ask for a better cast/crew. I can't wait to head for the Sea of Monsters! The show was damn great, and the doc was a nice cherry on top. The hate for the show is laughable. Not saying that there can't be legitimate criticism about the technical side of things, these people are so damn frustrating with their "gripes". I wasn't a fan of the 4th & 7th episodes on a personal level, but I enjoyed the sht out of the show, and I'm excited for Season 2 (aka Sea of Monsters).

Also I would looooove to see a video countering common surface-level critiques of the show.

i think it was released after you filmed this but seaweed brain pod interviewed the stunt coordinators and it was SO cool to hear about their experience working on the show, i was geeking out

love the video, i love that they had this documentary to show us all their hard work! here we go SEASON 2😭 also, people are so annoying talking about budgets like, besides of what they spend on the props, sets, and etc, people that work on the show still need to get paid, every single person that worked there, even on the smallest things, need to be rewarded for their work, the budget is not only for the episodes purely, people seem to forget that

I’m so happy they make these. I wish it had more in depth looks at all the different departments like you might find on a old physical tv show release

I’d love to see a vid describing how you think they’ll handle the prophecy/aging situation as we possibly move into HOO & beyond because I would love this series to go the long haul but the fact that we have 10+ books all taking place before Percy is 18 😭 IDK that seems real tough to manage

I CRIED SO MUCH WHILE WATCHING THIS ADAPTATION AND THIS DOCUMENTARY. It’s crazy..The last time I felt this way was with the Harry Potter series.

This is a super late comment but you should watch “Percy Jackson and the Olympians The Big Score” on RU-vid! It’s only a 6 minute video but it’s about Bear Mccreary talking about the score more in detail it’s so cool

Its so sweet seeing all the love and care that went into this show. And hearing the kids parents talking about them was heartwarming. I do agree that this show gets a lot of unjust hate

Thanks so much for everything you said at the end. Obviously so much heart and effort went into this show, and people who complain about it just for the sake of complaining are so insulting to all of the hard work.
