Despite my latest field being slow on the finds many hours of carefully grinding unearths an ancient artefact to give me hope. Music Credit: Hang The Bankers by Para Elite.
Lovely finds boards of bits there Percy,, I will keep everything crossed for you, hoping you either find the rest of the brooch or an intact one. Keep it up Percy 🤖👍💪🐶
There is quite a good chance of finding the rest of the broach George, it will be large judging by the catch plate. The next couple of weeks will tell as I nearly the highest point of the field so I live in hope of a hot spot. Not even a half mile away there is an iron age hill fort in a wood so fingers crossed.
Great work, Percy. Wow, you had a huge amount of buttons. I'ts always nice to find at least 1 coin. You did good finding three. Congrats on the Roman pin partifact. Jax
So many buttons but spaced out over maybe 20 hrs detecting Jax. 27 acre field must have more than 1x Roman catch plate. My interest deepened after this 1x little partifact. X
I'm sure there is better to come JC, only gridded about a fifth of the field so far. All I want is one banging find out of 27 acres. I'm sure it will come up soon mate.

Some interesting finds there, it's amazing the topography you see from a drone and area's that might yeild finds with a metal detector, maybe we should do a colaboration lol
Hi UKMEDIC, I've never tried using a drone but quite often look at LIDAR maps for reference. I have at least 1,000 acres of land permissions to detect on around my village some of which are very ancient. 1 permission is the site of 2x moated medieval manor houses surrounded by ridge and furrow pasture. That would look great as drone footage. I'm in Warwickshire if you are anywhere near then you are welcome to fly over the fields to take a bird's eye view.
I used to visit that area a lot as Warwick Castle used to be one of my favourites until they pretty much turned it into a theme park. So now its coastal or the Highlands for drone footage @@TheMercianMetalDetecting
@@ukmedic I totally agree with you about what has been done to Warwick castle my friend. I'm about 3 miles from there as the crow flys. However, only about 6 miles away is Kenilworth castle which is so majestic in ruins, I much prefer this castle. Any time you pass by this way give me a visit, it would be my pleasure.
