A restaurant review: "We Had to Close." (?) Yesterday was my wife's birthday. To celebrate I wanted to take her out to dinner somewhere special. Decided on Pere Marquette Lodge's restaurant after consulting their web site. "Dinner served at 4pm", it states. Drove from St. Louis, Missouri to the Illinois state park lodge's restaurant for forty minutes. Upon entering the lodge the great hall is laid out for a big wing-ding. Found the restaurant closed! It was ten minutes after 4pm. WT? I inquired at the desk. Was told, "We had to close." Had to my mind asked. Who forced them to close. I'd like that answered. Another couple had just discovered the restaurants undisclosed closing as we approached. We find this un-excusable! Notice should have been posted on their web site but this is not a solution.
