I saw a peregrine falcon doing barrel rolls around a bald eagle harassing the eagle from its territory. I witnessed this taking place above the tree-tops just below the rim of Crater Lake in Oregon. It was an amazing display. I also saw, at very close range, a goshawk fly up from the forest floor having just caught a large snake. It was very majestic. That was in Lassen National Park in Northern California.

Right but they can't kill the eagle. And Goshawks are dangerous hawks, ferocious. Perrigrines are killed by Goshawks

Buzzards bully Goshawks on the ground and chase them from their nests. A peregrine is far more aggressive than a Buzzard, fact is Goshawks are cowards, they can not fight.

I once saw an accidental head-to-head matchup of these two. Peregrine was in full stoop; goshawk was ambush-hunting from a tall pine by a riverbank. The goshawk basically T-boned the falcon about 6ft off the water. Goshawk was tough enough to pull up, but the falcon couldn't; it most likely drowned.

My thing is peregrine's are fastest at a stoop or dive, but what if that misses. I've seen on national geographics pigeons evading peregrine stoops. Goshawks are very agile flyers and might be able to dodge, recover, and take the advantage. And for the record Swift's are the fastest flying birds in a straight line.

Goshawks are bigger, stronger more aggresive , have a faster reaction time in flight so if they were going head to head in a fight I would still give it to the goshawk. The only way a peregrine could have any chance of taking out a goshawk would be if it was able to get up high and get one of their famous super fast stoops going and hit the goshawk hard but In a straight fight over territory a goshawk would win.

No not really it may be stronger but not more agile and flexible as the falcon and also falcons are geniuses when it comes to flight I’d doubt a goshawk would beat one with ease also I’ve seen them in counter once and I’m not being biased or anything but the flacon ripped the goshawks neck with one swoop and it was immobilized

Peregrine male hits a stationary target with .22 energy and a large female maybe pushes that to compound crossbow comparisons. I think the extra skeletal mass is why they have that odd center of gravity when hopping about on land.

Red Tailed Hawks are amazing raptors with an outstanding prowess,but and adult Great Horned Owl would kill the Red Tailed Hawk at least 99 1/2 times out of 100 with both birds being healthy adult birds.

As a previous Falconry/Austringer for over 20 yrs....you cannot compare the two. Both have a very unique hunting style and that is because of the birds structural.....The Peregrine is a "Falco" and the Gos is a "Accipiter"...thus a very different hunting form.....but you have shown the highlights of both!

Not in a nest. Goshawk is the master at mid level flight at dawn so it blends wirh horizon and sun. Falcon would see it. Its chicks wouldn't.

Peregrines are my absolute favorite animals. I laugh when people use the term “as fast as a cheetah.” My first thought is that the peregrine can stoop more than 3x faster than a cheetah at its top speed.

@@kevinparker461 no bird can stoop that fast, otherwise their lungs would collapse. Peregrine falcons are built to stoop that fast because of the evolved nostrils called a tubercle. They also hit their pray at that speed, which would normally knock out or kill any other animal who would attempt that kind of attack at that speed. I think it’s you who needs to go back to school.

I agree because while on the ground or maybe a dense forest the peregrine would have a pretty hard time due to the goshawk being bigger, having stronger talons, and being able to maneuver through the trees but the peregrine is much faster in the air and on average falcons have more powerful beaks with that special tooth they have. So if the peregrine can get q good bit above the goshawk i think it could end it with a dive bomb.

Probably a lioness, a lioness wats more than a Jaguar female African lions can reach from 250 to close to 350 pounds but typically being around the 300 pound mark, a Jaguar even male only weighs around 250, the lioness has bigger claws and teeth, the Jaguar only has a stronger bite, but I’d to say the lioness

The lioness is slightly bigger in size, slightly Heavier (African lioness 300lbs, pantanal jaguar 220-250 lbs) and more aggressive but the jaguar has a stronger bite force, is more muscular and more robust. Both are pretty similar in raw strength and both have 3 inch claws and teeth so i would say 50/50 but it depends on sub species

If the goshawk was flying across an open field, the peregrine would fall out of the sky hit the goshawk and decapitate the goshawk. If the peregrine was sitting on a fence post and the goshawk seen it and wanted it the peregrine would probably be dead before it knew what was going on.

I agree with everything but your last statement. Goshawks eat their prey alive. Even with talons penetrating, the victim often is dying while getting eaten. Being dead before it knew what happened applies more for the peregrine.

Let's assume this fight will be in the air. Speed kills and nothing living on Earth is faster than the Peregrine Falcon. There are several in my desert neighborhood and they are gorgeous. If you have never seen a film of the Peregrine Falcon diving at around 200 MPH, please go see one.

Peregrine Falcon would win because in the air the Falcon is much more faster and agile but the goshawk has is its strength and better weapons. Which is not useful as in the air there will be constant moving so the speed and agility is the most valuable assets in this fight. The size and defence are more or less the same.

Depends where, in the woods the goshawk will out fly a peregrine easily. The only place it could happen is fighting for prey. There I think the goshawk power would prevail but they would not kill eachother over prey. When fighting because of the nest or prey, in a face off Goshawk will chase the peregrine easily.

Realistically if the peregrine falcons wanted to, they could kill any animals including humans, but they dont exist to eliminate other lives lol and also although they can be that one animal potentially can eliminate any other, its attacks can be very double edged, diving that high and fast can be fatal for both the falcon and the the other animal. Its like a kamikaze attack but if the timing is unlucky for the falcon, it can be suicidal or luckily a miss or a hit. It all depends, but yes the peregrine falcons have the power to kill any animals including humans. They are like the bullets itself lol. And also fun fact, the egyptians hieroglyphs of their gods like horus and ra who represent somewhere high as the sky and the sun have peregrines falcon’s heads as their faces. They knew which animal can be the most highest and deadliest lol

Is it rare that one of these birds were found at my backyard?! Especially when theirs many houses, I clicked on this vid because I wasn’t sure if it was A Goshawk or a Peregrine falcon, 1 it dived fast then flew up to tree to tree and then observed quietly, and a Greyson spotted coat and the wing span was big but o couldn’t tell if it was a male or female since it was far away and I just came to this video, all I know it was somewhat thick, so I’m guessing female.

What it doesn't say is the Goshawk will spook a Peregrine, Eagle, owl to make it leave a nest to the double round and grab chicks. This behaviour had been observed when population of voles and squirrels are low. Goshawk will adapt very quickly to survive.

Mantis in my opinion, but if the dragonfly manages to outmaneuver its foe and get a good hold, it could be the key to victory.

Mantis wins every time against the Dragon Fly. Praying Mantis catch and eat small snakes that dwarf the Mantis in size.Not much within even 2 to 3 times or more in size and weight have a chance against a Praying Mantis. They're ounce for ounce one of the world's top predators.

Only people that have no idea about these 2 birds would even consider the question. I doubt a gyrfalcon female of 2kg can kill a male of goshawk of 800 gr. In falconry associations all falcon owners wants you to make sure your bird is well tied if it's a goshawk female. Next video, Spaniel Breton vs Pitbull - Wich is the strongest?

hawk has stronger legs whereas falcon has stronger beak speed and agility and overall strength so peregrine would win

@@gethype1908 It's much bigger, and perhaps the more experienced fighter as savannahs seem to be more hostile than African forests. Plus, its tusks point rather more forwards than downwards compared to its forest counterpart.
