@@Mighty15x Is it allow in MMA to grab and hold opponent hands? Like grabbing the wrist of the attacker’s punching arm and applied a standing americana/top wristlock/ude garami. Wouldn't that be effective against both wrestler or striker?
is not "kickboxing the whole life" but "dominating 2 divisions in the #1 kick boxing tournament in the world". Cro-cop won k1 (Glory predecessor) and Pride FC but failed at UFC. Matter of fact, all these guys did quite well. Poatan still did not flatline anyone in the ufc like he did to half of the Kickboxing Elite. But except for trying to fight izzy on 84, only Aspinal maybe
@@slee2695 so a natural wrestler must hes between the best the dispute the belt instead of trying to force a fight because supposdly any wrestler could beat poatan
@@jesusiskingofkings4428 IMO it actually praises his kickboxing experience by highlighting that he picked up on that pattern off Instagram videos and effectively executed his gameplan.
@@jesusiskingofkings4428 Not everyone saw the coach's interview, bro was simply explaining why Alex went for that option nothing about that contradicts what op said.
Jiri is a believer and he believed Alex had a supernatural advantage. Also Jiri has a wreckless defense and believes his chin will not fail. I like Jiri and if Alex wasn't here he'd probably be a dominant champion. Chama
Alex’s coach plinio is a freemason, alex never denied participating in shamanic magic once, keep thinking you know how the world works though Nathaniel
Fun fact I got from a source: Alex’s entire training camp this fight was actually spent in the bayou learning voodoo from a Haitian witch, and Dustin Poirier was the one who referred Alex to the guy.
That kick came outta absolutely nowhere. Everyone expecting that deadly left hook then BAM you got a foot to the temple. I think even at heavyweight Alex will be a menace. I only really see a few guys giving him trouble up there
Alex's UFC career has been a Blitzkrieg from the beginning and he was given the chance to do so by coming in as a kickboxing champion of the world and proven fighter. His plan was obviously to come in, fight everyone as soon as possible and flat anyone on his way, which he executed impeccably so far. The speed of his progression and ferociousness are what is special about him and UFC should embrace and encourage it for his sake and the sake of all fans who want to see how far this man can get!!
@bennetttyler6019 he certainly got lucky to be in two divisions at such a time when there are a few good grapplers, although it's just a "could be, would be, should be" scenario. They gifted him definitely nothing, because if a grappler was at the top, this man would fight him regardless and he would have just as good of a chance to win like the grappler himself. So no, I don't think he has been gifted with anything.
Also Glover saw something in alex and did say he was retiring pretty much to just work with Alex.... that kind of experience and specific coaching has gone a long way
its because alex is kickboxing royalty and he keeps running into people that basically oblige him to a kickboxing match jan looked much more competitive with alex because he mixed in the grappling threat - izzy as well mixed in grappling and also weird hand grabbing shit that worked really well in their fist fight
What? Of course it is?? Kick-boxers have been refining their moves longer than MMA has been a sport, because UFC isn’t a sport. And MMA fighters literally employ kick-boxing moves, how can mma be more refined than kick-boxing when almost half of MMA is kick-boxing?
Izzy at a bar right now with his glory days behind him, sitting at 3-1. Alex has exceeded his days in Glory with outstanding accomplishments, bar none!
Was waiting for this reaction. Alex is such a beast. He's able to generate so much power with that left hook. His technique is beautiful to watch. Really looking forward to see him move to heavyweight!
Alex's striking is on another level, not to mention his fight IQ ehen it comes to the stand up. He has power, timing, speed, precision. Dude is an absolute killer in the cage. Chama.
Thank you, no one talks about how this guy fights orthodox when he his lead (left) is his power hand. It almost has to make us relook the traditional, power hand back, jab forward boxing methodology. Imagine someone with a deadly right hand fighting southpaw? That’s Alex Pereira.
@@tomc3216 Well I think because it's not conventional, you have to have been fighting that way from the start cause of defense. Then also it's suitable for those with deadly hands, because you won't have much space to trigger from compared to the usual style where your lead hand is in a pulled back state.
Dj: When u fight somebody who's been kickboxing his entire life, what do u think is gonna happen ? Cat: Are u asking me ? Well guys, let me tell u something... Camera: CUUUT
Pereira certified himself as an ALL TIME GOAT. This was one of the most dominant and devastating performance I've seen someone put on. Especially when you take into account that this was a short notice fight. Alex looked so impeccable that it's frightening to see. You can't catch him on a bad day, that's how sharp he is.
He fought a perfect fight, he only caught one bad shot from Jiri but was composed and threw a monster check hook that would have knocked Jiri out (like 2 mins into the first round)
Alex's power is not from this world... Yiri took a lot punishment from Rakic like nothing, but again, one left hook and he was done... Considering everything I believe Blachowicz is the 2nd best on this division
Izzy was about to lose that fight before his Hail Mary right hand that slept him. Also Alex had No Brain Fluid draining down to 185 so it’s just easier to knock him out
It is unfortunate how often a fighter posesses something unique (Jiri's style in this case), but the basic skills do not match the opponents, and after a loss the fighter decides to drop what made him in the first place and go face to face with only the opponents skill set and get destroyed. When you have that ace in the sleeve, you cannot give it up, you need to enhance it. Thoughts?
That co-main was awesome. Dan made a huge name for himself imo. On hours notice made it three rounds and won the third, crazy. And was a fun fight to watch compared to some others. Also, I like Alex but Tom Aspinal would give him some serious problems i think.
Nobody fights for the belt in heavyweight They would just give it to em by default after 1 win Jones did the same thing and that was so long ago Not 1 title defense? Whats the fn point
Black magic. Alex's touch of death feels almost like he entered a cheat code. He touches guys and their system shuts down. Insane. Every other fighter hands some punches, with knocking guys out, Alex only needs to land ONE punch. It's pretty impressive that Adesanya took that guy out.
@@supersaiyan4rambo Depends on who you are; I like him. Many people him. I'd wager that most black and coloured people like him. I'd be curious to know what exactly it is about his personality that you find unlikeable.
Alex's story from needs to be made into a documentary / movie. From a tire shop --> double champion in two top combat sports organizations (Glory, UFC)
Yes, the internet is full of people that aren't accountable or responsible for their own actions...whilst you're making wishes I think u should get em to ban cars as some arent able to drive responsibly.....
Okay would you say the same if he was promoting Marlboro like they used to in Nascar and every men's magazine! Would you be out the pushing ads for the booger sugar or smack? Yes they're addicting also but we should just tell everyone to take accountability and be responsible. Like Nancy Reagan said "just say no" lol I wouldn't give a shit if youtube was only watched by adults, but it's a lot children and or teenagers that like or are inspired to be like Mighty Mouse. He'll likely have a lot of young kids watching his content since he started out streaming video games when he first started his online content career. Wish you the best bro. We just need to start taking a little more moral stances in our lives instead of pushing some gambling app, just for a little more money. I believe there is probably a lot of other businesses champing at the bit to advertise on one of the best/ if not the best mma fighter there is so-far.
Now, if you look really close, you gonna agree with Jiri about the magic stuff. In the knockout moment, if you watch in slow motion, you gonna see clearly a tribe of spiritual warriors on horseback following Poatan's leg, galloping against Jiri's head. Jiri might talk about this later, thats probably why he lost or maybe its a bad stoppage again.
@@Copykingjake I’m not a causal, I can afford to pay for the fights lmao you’re broke and aren’t helping ten sport or fighters in any way. Nothing special about you bro because you pirate fights
“Once again! When you fight somebody who’s been doing kickboxing their whole f****ng life, what do you think is going to happen??” Try explaining this to Hill
I think he should fight ankalaev next and if he loses then he should go to heavyweight… try and get the belt! If he doesn’t then maybe retire! Still one of the best to do it no matter what happens now
As hard as IZZY must pretend, WE ALL have to RECOGNIZE that when he is ALONE by himself… he HAS to kick himself for THAT arrogant EGO fuelled Interview he did on Australia News & for talking SO recklessly & carelessly! Fuelled by his then Unbeaten record & now Trademark Cringe-filled Egotistical Outbursts…. Totally feeling himself AS Untouchable & Invincible, WELL & truly ON his way to becoming an all-time MW Great, completely surpassing even Silva's record! YET…. Entirely Unaware that he was actively participating in THE VERY catalyst & Prime motivation for the Re-Emergence & Re-Invigoration of his Biggest Nemesis to RE-Emerge from the Ashes like a Phoenix, TAKE his spot & Achieve ALL THE GREATEST GOALS he could have EVER dreamed about EVEN in his wildest of dreams, Yet Surpassing them & MORE! Then to be left as a mere afterthought & on the sidelines…kinda Frozen Like Elsa?!… All because of 1 Arrogant & Ego-driven Rude & Disrespectful interview that EVEN Alex himself STILL to this day personally references, pinpoints & acknowledges as THAT Particularly Specific defining pivotal moment! And who says Karma doesn't exist, Huh? Chama… Eh?!
Everyone saying Jiri was dumb for striking with Alex must have not watched the fight closely. JIRI TRIED THE TAKEDOWN AND FAILED, OBVIOUSLY HE HAVE TO SET UP A TAKEDOWN AGAIN AND HANG ON THE FEET FIRST, ALEX JUST CAPITALIZED ON THAT PERFECTLY.
Just went back and watched the fight with Jan. 🇵🇱🇧🇷 Jan had him on the ground half the fight, despite gassing out badly at altitude (utah). This division lacks an elite wrestler and that has helped Pereira’s case. Crazy that others haven’t capitalised on Jan’s relative success. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ Jiri abandoned what makes him so hard which is the unpredictability and tried to play Alex’s game with no TD threat and Ankalaev is already taking about outstriking him. The ego definitely increases as you go up the weight divs. 😂😂 🫡 🗿 #respectthevoid
I hope Izzy beats Dricus and Strickland, Pereira beats Ankalaev and then Izzy does a proper bulk to LHW to fight Pereira. He’s the only guy aside from Jones, Aspinall and Gane (who are heavyweights 💀) that could beat him
Never heard anyone call 50k Ige "Daniel Ige"😂. Ige is a stud. Luckily he had a fight coming on the 20th which is why they were able to clear him. That's some any1, anywhere, anytime shit for real. Great last min opportunity even despite ranking difference due to it being international fight wk, a big card & Lopes is a star.
I love Pereira but I do find it a bit embarrassing how these guys are all just playing his game and standing with one of the best kickboxers on the planet. Leaving the left hook WIDE open and not even attempting a takedown. It's elite MMA... At least try to take the fight into an area Pereira isn't comfortable. No? Seems common sense to me but what do I know? Maybe Pereira just has the Mike Tyson effect now. His aura and power just has guys defeated before the fight even starts. It's weird to watch... But you'd bet on Jon Jones to make it look easy.
CHAMAAAAAA🐈 Ankalaev is the only one left at LHW and then HW 2025!!! Imagine if Alex becomes the first 3 division champion ever.🎉 I'd love to see him try.
MVP got robbed! This card was ok, Dana is BS !! Said he would give out 303 thousand bonuses that's why Alex said that at the end. And 2 people only got 50 k Bonuses and Alex was one of them and a Female fighter.
Imagine if Alex goes up and sleeps Aspinall. Everyone will say Aspinall was a fraud and then start defending Jon. Then Alex fights Jon and beats him and retires and the undisputed UFC/mma GOAT. Izzy would cry so hard and go into a deep depression and become an alcoholic and be at a bar one day and say "i beat that guy once"
Also a quick note, Izzy was getting demolished in their second fight. Izzy is still a world class kick boxer though, and Alex didn’t respect that and was caught and KOd because of that.
Listen in my opinon Alex Poatan is the Greatest stand up fighter to ever grace the sport! maybe in all combat sports the physical attributes mixed with his extremmely high IQ! Cmon man, I hope all you haters and doubters can apreciate this man for what he is, a complete destroyer of men on the feet! He's achieved what Izzy only dreamed of doing in a 10th of the time, Alex ' Poatan ' Pereira is special! he may be our first 3 weight champ! if he truly keeps getting better and he sures his wrestling and grappling up, he will do it! but the stand up is already taken care of, he is truly Special, im honoured to watch him fight like i was mighty mouse.
I am a little dissapointed in Jiri not trying to take him down. Would've made Alex guessing with that bopping style of Jiri's. After that he could've faked the takedown and come up with a uppercut, like he showed before. Don't make it a kickboxing fight with Alex or else he will send you in to the shadow realm.
Am I losing my mind? I thought Ian Gary's TD attempts failed in the 3rd, and MVP ended up in his guard l basically burned half the round and then Gary took his back standing and hung on until the end of the fight. Also...random "actually" nerd comment it is Dan Ige not Inge.
Nobody believes me. Anthony Smith is a joke. He can't fight. And need to retire he sucks. He keeps listening to Michael Bisping, pumping him up that isn't going to work.
Does anyone else have difficulty placing bets on the prize picks app or website? I don't see where to click to place a bet, like, is the deadline for placing the bet Thursday acternoon before the Saturday fight? I very easily could've made some nice money on this fight, Jiri never stood a chance. Thanks
Jiri didn’t win a single second of this fight. Alex absolutely dominated this fight from beginning to end. Still have nothing but respect for Jiri, but I think it’s time for him to train a different style. Training on his own in the woods or whatever the hell he’s doing is not helping him grow anymore. He needs to adopt a more traditional style, like Muy Thai. His stance is far too wide and makes it impossible to check kicks. He lunges in, overextends himself and gets countered when he fights guys like Alex who are fast, powerful, and technically sound. Alex throws the most devastating left hook you’ve ever seen, and he doesn’t have to lunge to generate that power. Jiri needs a real martial arts discipline. I have a feeling this loss will be a wake up call and he’ll end up taking up a different style, much like Khalil Roundtree did.
Let's gives Pereira fight jones for title....since dana and ufc played out Aspinall for his deserving title fight.... Pereira in and Stipe out.... period
Since Izzy put out a statement talking about all he’s after is “big fights” now and doesn’t care about belts, it’s time for him to step up to Alex and let’s get that 3rd fight. I don’t even care if he’ll be coming off a loss, I think DDP is going to beat him, that’s still a big fight Alex would take. But Alex is getting better every time, and Israel is still the same guy pretty much and knows it, so I doubt he wants to tarnish the last memory people have of the two of them in the cage together.
