Thank you so much for posting your process. I currently have a BN-20A and GS-24 and have not been able to find a video explaining the full process WITH information on blade perf settings :). Keep it up and Happy Printing !
I can’t get my GX-24 to connect to Versaworks. I installed it on the printer settings but it keeps saying status unknown. It cuts fine straight from Illustrator with the CutStudio plugin so I know it’s connected.
Hope you were able to resolve your issue! When I received my BN20A and GS24 the technician who set up my BN20 also installed the Gs24 drivers and hooked it up on VersaWorks for me. I wish I could be of more help, but maybe looking up in the VersaWorks manual or other YT vids focused on VersaWorks can give you the answer. Also, make sure your plotter is connected correctly by USB or WIFI, or else your computer will always say the plotter is offline. Happy Printing!
Whats going on brother, I own a roland bn20 and been trying to figure out the best settings for perf cutting using generic vinyl 1. Blade is brand new cut strip is brand new as well. Any advice?
I currently just got a BN20A and this is my issue as well. Before seeing this video i had no idea how to use my GS24 for cutting, so I am so thankful he posted this valuable information. What I have been doing is printing, laminating, and then using the BN20 to cut through vinyl and lam..... I wanted to make sure its perfect kiss cut and perf cut on the first try so i placed my GF 120 for kiss and 222 for perf and 2x passes! Ridiculous, I saw another RU-vid video that used similar settings and worked so I thought it would be the same for me... not at all... messed up the full order and jammed up the vinyl. I'm sure after 3 yrs you were able to already hone in your settings. Nevertheless, I'll respond just in case there are future Printer People who need this info: You have to do multiple trial and errors on your printer with your blade to find your perfect sweet spot. Start with the factory settings of the BN20 on VersaWorks and reduce or increase by 10 gf increments and see which settings you prefer. If I am able to find my sweet spot, I will comment again on this video just in case. Happy Printing!
Find the RU-vid video titled "Roland BN-20 Test Cut: How to Find the Best Roland Versaworks Cut Settings for Every Material" by the channel *Silhouette School with Melissa* and she helps you by explaining what is the best process for you to test out kiss and perf cutting settings without wasting ink :)
My issue comes after laminating then trying to perf cut (die cut). Always have jagged edges depending on the shape. Tricky to cut through the backing paper without tearing up your cut strip. Any advice on this, anyone? We run 3M vinyl IJ35-C and Briteline Laminate.
I have a Bn20a and I would like to print a do a perfect cut once on the same machine do you have a video on that or can yo let me know how? Please help!
Same process but reload into bn20a leave about 30cm of blank media on the front and about 40 on the rear or it will not be able to read it also DO NOT!! center the design on the media it won't find reg marks
hi there im looking to buy a BN-20 can you print and cut on this machine? or do i need a second cutter? and how is the maintenance on this machine? I just want one machine that does all
Hi! Hope this message finds you well. BN20s printers DO print AND cut. Usually people buy a second cutter to not wear out the cutting strip on the BN20 and to only use the BN20 for PRINTING jobs while the SEPARATE cutter cuts the jobs. This layout will help you have a faster work flow to finish orders and deliver them to clients efficiently. In addition to this channel, if you are looking for more info on BN20s and have all your beginner questions answered, check out the following channels that have MULTIPLE videos on the topic to help you out: 1) Da Print House, 2) Silhouette School with Melissa.
