Matt back when I used rubber collared bags I too used cords to pull blowpipe back towards me. I now order my Canmore bags direct from Canmore. Iain is great to work with. I get my bags without Collars and holes pre-cut. After a few weeks of playing the bag relaxes to my posture and the blow pipe stays put. I of course fully tie-in my bags as I do not care for the rubber collars. Now some folks like the rubber collars for the Drones but prefer the blowpipe stock tied in for reasons listed. Iain can supply bag with hole punched for the blowpipe stock and drone rubber collars. This arrangement seems to work for those that do not like tying in stocks. The drone stocks are the tricky ones to do. I have tied-in over 100 Begg bags, a few Lee &Sons bags and over 50 Canmore bags. All are with out rubber collars. By the way I love your segments and training videos.

Left to right position of the bass drone can be adjusted by shorening the drone chords. Shortening the drone chord moves the bass to the left, which makes the blowpipe feel like it moved to the right.

I don’t know about this, for 40 bucks. Seems like you could do the same thing with a length of paracord and the right knots. I’m going to try it and see!

I actually go over that process in another video (my how to tie in synthetic bags video). But not everyone is knowledgeable on knots and this is easy to use...

Forget about knots...all you need are o rings from the hardware store and some nylon straps from the fabric store or wherever...less than $10...I sometimes think that people think that bagpipers have an endless supply of money for all these gadgets...

I noted the rings were quite away up the stocks, which means the straps sit high. Logical i guess since it has to pull from above the bag to stock join. How did the bag covers fit ? And were the rings visible with the cover on ? Thanks Brian

You can indeed push the rings all the way down onto the grommets. I just didn’t quite try hard enough.

Thoughts on this versus a blowpipe that is telescopic and can angle? It has a joint in the blowpipe

The universal blowpipes can definitely be more comfortable. They aren't the prettiest things, however (definitely make the instrument look far more modern with that ball joint). But comfort and posture are more important than "style".
