Birth Announcement 🎉 Our little Nathaniel William arrived on 27/09/20 💙 I've been watching your baby name videos since I was pregnant with my first... Elliot George. Pretty sure this little man will be our last baby but not planning on stopping watching Baby Name Mondays of course 🤣 Thanks for the inspiration SJ xxx
Ah this is amazing thank you so much for letting us know!!! I LOVE the name Nataniel So much and William is a gorgeous combination with it! HUGE CONGRATS - give him a squeeze from all of us xxxx
@@alixschneider Aww congrats! That's a gorgeous combination 💙 We loved Henry too but a close friend had already used it! It is now the name of our first borns baby doll 😂 xxx
Truth. Someone I know had a little Cove in 2019 and I hope for them that it doesn't seem like she was named after Covid as she's growing up.... super unfortunate. (I can't believe people are naming their kids Covid but that's a whole other discussion)
My baby Cove was born in January this year (2020) and honestly I made that connection but once I mention it no one else has. I think Cove still has the natural beachy feel where as Covid definitely gives you a completely different emotional response
Cove is on my list now in 2021 and I didn't make that connection. I think after covid ends it will be old news and the next generation will hardly think about it.
As an Australian, my name is always pronounced like Dah-na, which I think is the European/British way of saying my name. I go by Day-na, which I think is American. I was named after Dana Scully from the xfiles which is what I tell people to help them remember 😂
Love it, sounds like Tessa but a bit more unique. However, now that i'm repeating it in my head it sounds like the first part of terrible, I don't really like that association that i have
One of my best friends is named that! She spells it like Tara, but it’s pronounced the same as Terra. I’d have it on my list if I didn’t know one personally lol
My aunt and I were looking at old pattern magazines and saw Skipper shorts and we both went ‘why is that actually a great name?’ And I said ‘imagine a scout and skipper?’ Some of my favourite element type names are Sailor and Prairie. And Orest (he who stands on a mountain) which is a family name. Love this list SJ! -Jules
Fire: Amber/Saffron/Phoenix Water: Pearl/Ray/Bay/Darya/Marina/Nerida/Tallulah Air: Eira/Aura/Sky/Gale Earth: Lily/Daisy/Branch/Rose/Arlo/Bryn/Clay Ignacio reminds me of a Harry Potter spell which makes me love it more 😂
I think I'm a fire type from your description, which is ironic because I studied marine biology in school. Delamere captured my attention! How beautiful. Delamere and Devereaux as brothers?! Here's some names from my list that also fall into the four element categories (you can tell my preference lol): Earth- Alaska (great land) Arlo (hill) Beaumont (beautiful mountain) Brent (hill) Holden (the hollow in the valley) Monroe (from the hill) Omri (my sheaf of grain) Peter (rock) Terra (Earth) Zamora (land) Fire- Brinley (burnt meadow) Farrah (ironsmith) Keegan (child of fiery one) Rowan (red) Air- Auretta (light wind) Skylark Zephyr (west wind) Zephyrine (west wind) Water- Brooklyn (pretty brook) Devereaux (from the Eure River) Dylan (child of the sea) Ephyra (sea nymph) Escott (from the cottage near the stream) Mara (sea) Murphy (child of sea warrior) Rodney (island in the swift river) Rosemarie (dew from the sea)
Can you please do a chronicles of narnia baby name list (as a bonus you would have to read the books if you haven't already and they are so stunning I think you'd love them, and the names) I love the name Aslan but my partner doesn't so I would love to have other narnia ideas
Mara is the highest ranking goddess in Slavic culture ;) like Persephone or Hecate...winter's death, rebirth , magic and dreams ;) Totally Scorpio sign , water energy ;)
Omg Autumn rain is the best thing in the world! My partner and I both love it :) I hope I can get through with the name Jorah! It's not my favourite name but my favourite meaning for sure! I also love the combination "Isla Demeter"
You need to go to Vermont! All Sound of Music fans should visit the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe. I saw some of Maria’s grandchildren and great grands. So fun.
One of my friends from Saint Pierre et Miquelon is named Océane and I fell in love with it I even would make it Océanna which I find so pretty, I love French derived names
Beautiful names! Will we ever get Welsh baby names? 🏴❤️😘 you’ve done all of the uk apart from Wales. My baby girl is due in Feb and I’m really struggling! 🤩😘
Baby girl (I had two boys first) came in August, at 36 weeks. I named her Dorthy Leigh(dorthy spelled with one o because that's how my grandma spelled it). We call her Dottie. She joins her brothers Kellen Shayne and Ronan Dean. ❤️
We named our youngest Lana. Her birth was a beautiful calm hypnobirth into water, so we thought it would be fitting. She is possibly the most up and down, fieriest children I've met, so that backfired!
Guthrie is the last name of one of the main characters in the show Black Sails. The character, Eleanor Guthrie is the beautiful, determined daughter of Richard Guthrie, the wealthiest Black Marketeer in the Bahamas, and chief fence/supplier for the many pirate crews of New Providence Island, Nassau. Eleanor Guthrie was left by her father to oversee all his dealing with the pirates of Nassau. It's an amazing show with well known names such as Charles Vane in the story and I recommend anyone to watch it, especially those who have played Assassins Creed: Black Flag. The show is available on Hulu and Prime.
I looooove this list! I also like how you give the personality types for each element! 💛 Loki is probably gaining in popularity because in the Thor movies Loki is Thor’s brother!
Can you please do another A-Z baby name video I loved the last one. Here is my A-Z list. Girls Adaline Bessie Clementine Dorothy Evelina Fleur Guinevere Hope Indigo Juliette Kadence Lilah Maple Nellie Odette Paisley Quinleigh Romilly Sahara Tulip Ulla Vienna Willow Ximena Yulla Zara Boys Albie Blythe Caspian Diego Evander Finley Gale Hudson Ignacio Jacoby Kasper Laszlo Milan Nelson Oslo Preston Quade Romeo Santiago Theodore Uriah Valentino Wilffred Xavier Yusuf Zavi
Fun fact: Ravenclaw is actually associated with air while slytherin is associated with water. The clearest representation of this is when you think of where their common rooms are (ravenclaws high in a tower and slytherins under the lake) and it also was on pottermore.
I love watching your channel and love baby names so much. My husband and I are going through infertility treatments and watching your channel keeps me sane! Keep being you love! 💞💞
I love you videos, I discovered them last month and I am watching them constantly! I would love to see a welsh inspire list or a 'timeless classics' video 😊 hope you are keeping well!
Loved this video sooo much!!💕 Here below some (not-required😂) italian names for each category: Water: Marina, Delfina (both for girls) Air: Azzurra (girls), Celeste (could be both), Aurora (girls) Earth: Gaia (girls) Pietro (boys) Fuoco: Aurelia (girls) Leone (boys) Baci da Milano💕
I would love to see an updated boys names for girls video! I’ve been crushing so hard on Sawyer, Parker, and Wyatt for girls but would love to hear others!
My OBGYN’s name is Sunny Glenn and I absolutely love it! When I saw her name on the list of providers at the hospital I was going to go to for my delivery (obgyns deliver most babies in the USA) I literally was like “that’s who I want to deliver my child!” 😂 I’m such a name nerd and her personality totally lived up to her gorgeous name!
I’m also a pisces but you need to know your whole birth chart to determine your element. Even though Pisces would obviously be water, considering my Moon and Rising sign I’m Fire.
I would like to add Sulis to the water name list. Sulis was the goddess of water who was worshipped in the West of England. When the Romans came Sulis became Sulis Minerva, but Sulis was originally her name. Artemis is a good name for Earth. She is the goddess of the wilderness and of the hunt and she is very earthy.
I went to school with an Audra. I think it's a pretty name, too! And I love Akash. It's the name of one of the main characters in a Bollywood movie, Dil Chahta Hai, which is one of my favorites!
I really like Ignacio or Ignacia. Some suggestions: Heath means someone who lived at, on, or by, a moor or heath. Aidan means little fire keanu means cool breeze over the mountains Anahita is the Old Persian form of the name of an Indo-Iranian cosmological figure venerated as the divinity of "the Waters" .
As an alternative to Lana I would also add Xana - the name comes from Asturian mythology and she is described as a creature of extraordinary beauty believed to live in fountains, rivers, waterfalls or forested regions with pure water. I really enjoy Delamere - my favourite from this video!
I was not expecting my name to be in there hahahah, honestly ive had compliments on my name since i was little by strangers and teachers and friends and family
I never reqlly thought about linking names to signs and elements, but I love the idea! I am a Taurus and I really do associate the most with the Earth sign! And now I think about it, my name also fits with the sign of Earth! Great video!
SKYLINE - BEFOR YOU USE THE NAME please know Skyline (Chili) is the name of a popular fast-food chain restaurant in the US Midwest (specifically Cincinnati) it sells hot dogs, pasta, and chili XD if your little person comes to this part of the world at some point they may have some fun or challenges haha
I know this is an odd request - but I'm wondering if the community can help us out. I work in cat rescue and we recently rescued a cat who is a serious fighter & survivor. We'd love to give him a name that reflects his fight. Any ideas?😊
My first boy has a water name.. Dylan. It means son of the sea. My 2nd and 3rd boys have earth names. Oliver, means olive tree, and Silas, means man of the forest.
I don’t have a baby, nor do I plan on having one soon but I literally spend so much time watching your videos! Love them so much! I know when I do have a baby I will have a long list of beautiful name possibilities for them 😂
The name Demetria means “follower of Demeter” and could be an alternative choice for the name. It maybe wouldn’t seem quite as unusual because it is Demi Lovato’s full name. Demeter is definitely a brave choice!
We actually named our second daughter (born in 2019) Acacia Blossom, but we used/use the Portuguese/Spanish pronunciation A-ka-sia. I love that I’ve yet to bump into or know of another Acacia!
I love that you have Vermont on here. I live in Vermont. The Green Mountains are a mountain range here. Our weather is similar to Germany. I have not met anyone named Vermont, but we do have some town names that people use as first names. I'm not sure I really like Vermont for a person's name though. We have a news caster in the US whose last name is Guthrie, which was the first thing I thought of. I don't know if she has made international fame for you to have heard of her that way. Savannah Guthrie.
I decided Audra suits water better than air as a stronger force but also flows. Or an Earth for that stable strong name. Some very interesting names here! ❤
I’ve always loved the name Hestia, who’s the Greek goddess of the hearth. I don’t really know what a good nick name would be but I’ve always thought it was so beautiful.
Actually my name means wind in Basque/ Euskera, an idiom of the north of Spain! Most people don’t pronounce it well bc the h doesn’t sound, it is pronounced like ai̯.ˈse.a (Haizea) ☺️. It is pretty uncommon even in Spain hahahah.
I love Earth: Gaia & Mason Air: Sky/Skyla (without the R) for girl and Skyler sounds more like a for a boy name to me, but I don't think it's a unisex name, could be wrong though. Fire: Enya & Loki Water: Moana & Ocean which you didn't mention but one of my faves ever. Also like River a bit. Delamere can be broken down to de la mere, which litterally translated to of the sea!
I'm Sagittarius and have always been confused by my sign because it's a fire sign while my animal is the horse. Maybe it makes sense I have anxiety issues; My sign is fire and a horse, horses are terrified of fire.
Omg you need to do a collab with Baby Name Sunday she did a 4 elements list a couple of weeks ago and you both have amazing taste in baby names! Also loved the list, some really beautiful names! 😍
I was surprised when you didn't say Tara or Terra for earth. Also Rocky. For air I know a Skylie. River for water. And incidentally I know siblings that have those names.lol
Napoleon reminds me of Napoleon Dynamite who is great in his own way, and Tana reminds me of Tana Mongeau but I liked it before... and fire in german is Feuer, and burnt is verbrannt/verbrennt (though it depends on context) and Lana is like Lana Del Rey and Lana Clarkson, and Skipper reminds me of the one from GIlligan's Island heh and "de la mer" is "from the sea" in french (:
I've loved the name Skylar since I was a little girl, but I'm one of those people that absolutely cannot use a name if I know someone else with it and I knew a handful of Skylars. I also know a Skyla, Skylie, and Skylynn. Me and my husband had decided on the name Skylaina if we ever had a girl. People either love it or absolutely hate it. I will admit that it does sound like a medication lol but we can't help but love it! We also like the names Sapphira and Rio for girls. Rio means place of cherry blossoms in Japanese :)
If its one you both like then id say go for it, or you could use it as a middle name and call her it, but then if she wanted a less unique name later in life then she could use her first name!
I'm liking Acacia, Digby, Audra Idalia, and Guthrie. I know a guy named Ignacio and I think he pronounces it ig-nase-ee-oh. He goes by Chitaeux haha. I remember you saying Jorah and seeing it later for a boy.
