Love your videos, wonder when the LWB hard top will make its way to the UK it looks perfect for us.

Hi Suzanne, sorry I missed your comment last month. I am not sure if (or when) the Nugget hard tops will arrive into the UK. It would be perfect and in many ways more suitable for a lot of people than a pop top. I think Ford are missing a trick here, but I guess they must have their reasons.

Excellent, well done. We’d be stuck without our Thule Backbox. We don’t ski or ride bikes!

It’s a very useful addition. I’ve been eyeing up the Thule Back Box…much bigger than my current cargo box!

@@CaliCamperFamily The Thule Back Box is a good size, just have to be careful not to have too much weight in it. Tend to use it for light bulky stuff like bedding and our Rainbow screens for the windscreen and pop top. Our Jackery Solar Panel slips in it as well.

Hello Cali Camper Family!!!! My 3 girls (around the same age) have been watching your family adventures for the past few months. I have been watching for a couple years. We finally decided to rent a Nugget Plus Poptop for the Easter Holidays. Any tips for camping spots in a Pop Top in early to mid April? We are traveling from Berlin into the North of Italy or South of France. The girls have been talking about Gardaland non-stop :)

Hi guys! Sorry we didnt reply earlier….great to hear that you have been enjoying the channel as a family (3 girls too!!!). How did you find the Nugget? We really hope you enjoyed it. Where did you go…Italy or France? Thanks for supporting the channel and good luck with future campervan plans! From Jordan, Jo, Holly, Izzy and Poppy!

Hello JJHIP, Thanks for message. The little ladies were excited to see that the Cali Camper Family “actually” replied!!!! In the end, we decided on Italy…Gardaland and pizza won out. We did 3000 km over 10 days and 9 nights. Greding (Bavaria), Gardland, Pisa, Ravenna, Venice, and Regensburg (Bavaria). Gardaland on Easter Sunday got the trip off to roaring start. Pisa provided some great food (Trattoria da Stelio was a gem for sure), Ravenna proved a nice town for a family walk, Camping Fusina gave us a perfect launching pad to explore Venice…we can definitely recommend Fusina for those looking to see Venice by campervan, full serve and ferry just steps from our site, Regensburg gave us another relaxing family walk around one of Germany’s most beautiful cities. The Ford Nugget Plus 2023 was awesome!!! It’s power and handling on the highways was better than our 2012 VW Sharan. The toilet and extra space inside allowed for more storage and area to maneuver around, but we could have used your storage rack solution. Or maybe we need to be smarter with our packing choices :). Also, the diesel performed amazingly and kept us comfortable throughout the night. We found some nice spots to park using park4night app and roadsurfer.spots…from the courtyard of a private farm house in Greding, public parking lot in Garda, sostas in Pisa and Ravenna, the full service historic campsite in Fusina, to a paved patch next to a village playground south Regensburg we loved to freedom and adventure the campervan provided. We will definitely get back on the road again. Maybe for a longer trip with fewer stops. We really enjoyed the 3 nights outside Venice. Thanks for the motivation…we look forward to following your 2023 adventures.

Hello, great content, regarding the altera strada sliding bike rack, does the tailgate clear the rack with the bikes on? If so what towbar do you have fitted? Thankyou
@CaliCamperFamily
@CaliCamperFamily Год назад
Yes, it does. We have the standard Westfalia towbar. However, it also worked fine on our previous Nugget with a Ford swan neck towbar too.

Hello, nice content again! When you were skiing, the heater is running? Or how do you prevent the water (e. g. toilet) freezing? Or do you start it an hour or so before get back in?
@CaliCamperFamily
@CaliCamperFamily Год назад
Hello! Sorry I didn’t respond sooner. We haven’t had any issues with things freezing. Probably for two reasons, firstly we haven’t left the van unoccupied for long enough in very cold 🥶 areas and secondly, all tanks are located inside the van, not under slung. We also do run the heater often and set up the automatic switch on, mainly to defrost the van and make it comfortable for our return. Thanks for watching and asking the question!

Great bike/ski rack. Lovely to be so near ski resorts and to be able to use the Nugget on ski trips. Does the heater sound noisy from outside of the van? One of my sons spent a year of his studies at Turin University and enjoyed being near to the ski resorts there.

Thanks! It is great to be able to go skiing for the day. The heater is noticeable on the outside and the fan that blows the warm air is also obvious inside the van, but not intrusively…definitely worth having as we don’t have to worry about using gas and it running out!

Here is an interesting link for the new Ford Tourneo - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8OqSJqFp108.html I wonder if we will see this turned into the new NuggetPlus in years to come?
@CaliCamperFamily
@CaliCamperFamily Год назад
Thanks for this. I think it will be used as a Nugget of the future. It’s a good looking evolution of the Transit. I certainly would be interested, especially as a hybrid.
