This would have been a perfect light if Olight would have made the clip carry reversible (like the M2R Pro) for those people who carry their light the correct way, bezel light down. So close Olight!
Light bezel down means magnetic switch is up to collect any/all metal debris in proximity resulting in balls on 🔥 (I know this from first hand experience, any collected metal debris turns the light on high :-(
There's no correct way...if you like it bezel down, it's your choice, man! But once you get used to it, and if you think about it, it's actually easier and quicker to deploy a light carried bezel up. You reach it and it's already in position to be held in a tactical grip, plus you won't require fine motor skills to turn it around in your hand to reach the tail cap. Now, j can't talk on an actual tactical use, first of all cause I never shot with one in my off hand, but also because I don't have the training required to comment on that. What I know, and what I have experience in, is everyday carry and hiking use, and let me tell you, I identify noise sources and I light the road ahead of me much quicker when I carry bezel up 👍
@@Guy1105Fawkes agree, no "correct" way. But to say but to say it us easier bezel up is personal preference only, and depends on if your wanting side switch or tail switch. If I want to use tail switch, I want tail switch up, not down. And for me bezel down is better....for me.
I just got my mini, unfortunately in black but got it on the flash sale so happy for that. Not too fond of the 6k-6.5k temp on it after having my m2r pro(tan) for almost a year. The warmer light temp plus the reflector add to better penetration and identification in wide open spaces on the m2r pro. I have to keep reminding myself that it is a backup and i have full confidence that it will fulfill that purpose. The mini dose excel in close quarters as the lense does a great job of spreading the light, for a wider angle of view, without creating a noticeable hotspot. All in all happy with my new mini. Just wish i could have got it in tan to match my other olights(s1r baton2, m2r pro, and warrior x pro)
Its literally a replacement for the discontinued M2R Warrior only smaller, I'm sure in time there will be a Warrior Pro Mini. I still want one, it's just about perfect for an everyday light.
My husband ordered me my only mini light from your company, it fits on my keychain, it's 1.5 inches long, super powerful, and teal in color, charges on a USB port, I love it! If I win I guess I'd go with desert tan color.
Followed on both. I'm kind of meh on the Warrior Mini when compared to the S2R2. I dig the tail switch. I was just expecting a little more umph from the output. 😕
I picked up a camo during the recent flash sale. It is a great light. If Olight watches these comments, please make colored filters for these lights. Filters would seal the deal for a lot of military customers.
I carry the S1R II As my EDC and work Light. I am very impressed at how long the battery last and how bright the little light is. In the evenings I carry the M1T Raider Plus and on the weekends I carry the Baton Pro. I own and have carried the Warrior Mini, S2R II, I5T, & I3T. Along with the bigger lights like the M2 Warrior and Pro Warrior X. To me the S1R is smaller and easier to use daily, ( for what I do, HVAC ) than the S2R. I find the S2R and the Warrior Mini to be the same, but with the tail switch. I like the Warrior more because of the that. They seem to have similar spotlight beams and distances at 0-100yds. So yes Warrior mini is more tactical because of those features, even if the bezel isn’t full of sharp spikes. But I still prefer the M1T Raider Plus over it, as I like the spot with some flood for use in normal 75yds and under use. Then there’s the Baton Pro, a super bright flood light, which I find to be excellent for all around use!! Just like Apple products, I’ll be giving away my Warrior Mini and wait for the “S” or “Pro” update. I hope they combine the 2 and have the Warrior Mini Pro. Until then I’ll wait, as the other lights are working for me.
Got it on the sale, good deal. Add info on the battery/charging, etc. Heard it's got a magnet on the tail switch. Good time to start carrying a well made torch.
My favorite is the S2R Batton 2. Perfect all around little light. I use my Seeker 2 for at home and for camping with the belt holster hands free use. Good video.
I like this comparison video a lot. So you can decide if you want to upgrade or not. I wonder if by any change the battery tube of the Warrior Mini fits a S2R II. Just for fun and giggles.
I use the M2R pro on the job since about 6 months, nightshift after nightshift. It has the best UI I ever got to use so I am really excited to see it on a more compact 18650 light!
4:04 yeah ima be that guy. Have the M2r pro and I can see the half being a problem. The issue is that the it’s difficult to gage the full press vs the half press. It’s fine in EDC use, but not for defensive use. Worst case case scenario is you will need 3 presses for the turbo beam. I have had this happen to me. I press it and got the medium beam. I press it again to get the turbo, but I half pressed again instead so I shut it off. Press it again correctly and got turbo. This can be confusing and there is no time for that in a defensive situation.
Followed on Facebook brother-in-law has let me know about you and I do believe that Olight flashlights are much better than many others. And at a more reasonable price than anything that can compare to them.
Dont have either Instagram or Facebook. But I do have a comment on the light .its to bad they dont take the bezel and cover the hole diameter of the light for protecting the aluminum surface.
This why I subscribed. Good job on going over the differences of this model with the other models in comparison. I was wondering if the pressure switch would’ve worked. They should of made pressure switch for this light. Only problem is it wasn’t designed as gun light🤦🏻♂️
I followed you on RU-vid. I stumbled across your channel trying to find out the difference between candela and lumen and so far you’ve had the best explanation and comparison. I prefer the black but I with they made a gunmetal grey 😅
MichaelJCaboose M.J.C lumens is how much light output there is. The intensity of the hotspot, or the amount of light you see in the centralized hot spot, is the candela. The higher the candela rating, the farther the beam is throwing the light. How much light is in that hot spot is determined by the lumens. Quick example...I have a Fenix HT18. 1500 Lumens, over 200k candela. Very tight hot spot and throws a beam a long way. I have a Fenix PD36TAC. 3000 lumens. Candela is only 18,700. It is a huge wall of light that is not focused, thus picking up the name "Flooder" beam pattern, as opposed to a "thrower" beam pattern. Hope this helps
Hey brother, couple quick questions for you.. - When the Warrior Mini is in Tactical Mode, does the side button only function in the 1 lumen moonlight mode? Or does it allow you to run through the various lumen levels? It would be pretty cool if you could have Tac Mode on the tail cap and the regular light levels on the side button! 👍🏼👍🏼 Separate thought: - Being that you are able to comm with Olight directly, it sure would be cool if they would sell a tail cap for the Warrior X Pro that is “locking” capable with the Odin pressure switch locking connector! I’m sure several of us would purchase those like immediately. It would also make the Warrior X Pro basically compatible just like the Warrior X Turbo and the Odin which both are able to lock to the Odin Pressure Switch! (And yes, I tried the end cap of my WXTurbo and swapped it out with my WXPro and the Odin Pressure Switch works great!) 👍🏼😬👍🏼 Thanku for the great vids!
Great question. The side button still cycles the modes just the same as in normal mode. I made the same suggestion about the WXP tailcap. That would be a great upgrade.
My S2R Baton II has been my favorite EDC, even over the Baton Pro, but always wanted the tail switch. Now I have to have a Warrior Mini. Thank you, great video! Followed on Facebook.
