Forgive the sound of the light rain in the background. We are in the rainy season in Florida but I really wanted to do this outside to emphasize how comfortable this dress feels even in Florida weather.
I ordered this dress to take with me to wear for formal night on a cruise vacation, but I feel like this dress would be stunning for a Christmas or New Year’s party as well.
I am 5'3", 165lbs and a 38 DDD bust and I ordered this dress in a size 16 plus in wine red. I often have trouble finding clothing because of my bust size, which comes out to about 44 inches. The size chart shows that this dress is made for a bust size of 43.3, but because the fabric that this dress is made from has a very intuitive stretchiness when it comes to embracing your body shape, I did not find it to be binding across my chest, under my arms or across my waist. The neckline is V shaped without being too deep, and I found it to be both flattering and very comfortable around my neckline. The fit of the waist really is perfect - not too tight and not too loose.
I found that the construction of the garment to be superb. The sequins were all beautifully attached and the stitching of the sequins onto the outer fabric layer had a beautiful consistent sewing pattern when viewed from the underside. The bottom of the dress had a nicely sewn fabric seam all along the bottom hem. There was no loose stitching or uneven seams in either the top fabric or the separate but attached sheer slip lining of the dress. This manufacturer did an excellent job in staying true to US sizing. While I would not wash this dress with my regular clothes, I would wash this dress on the gentle cycle alone and hang to dry. The other option to wash at home might be to use dry cleaning sheets in the dryer for a few minutes without washing. Of course, sending out for dry cleaning is also an option. I am really quite happy with this purchase and I would certainly recommend this dress to anyone who wants to look and feel beautiful while enjoying an evening event.
