I saw this on Facebook one day, and randomly found it on RU-vid a couple days later. I've watched it more than 20 times by now because I actually like the song. It's also satisfying as hell to watch.
You animal, you did it flawless! I tried this song myself at my friend's place, dang.. The hardest and most mind bending thing is that blue boxes appear on the left, and red on the right. And since that mirrors the way you hold the controllers it really fucks with ur mind. Well played friend, well played!
Ok, that was flippin impressive and that's exactly why I want a VR-Set. Also, I cried out laughing when he turned around and I saw the googly eyes with that smile xD
Jadon Williams you should get one then dude! They've not cheap right now. But my god is it fun (just only just game, a whole collection of other vr games)
Do note that Windows mixed reality headsets probably won't track your controllers as well as rift or vive. (So doing expert mode might be hard on windows mr headsets)
Thibault Molleman I haven't had any problem doing expert with headsets. You have to position the Bluetooth right in front for better signal. I mounted mines on the side of my desk, every since I did that I haven't had no problems.
A lot of RU-vidrs use the Oculus Rift, which is cheaper, but the visual tracking system is uses isn't very precise and produces a lot of outlier points, so it smoothes the reported position of the controllers. This makes them not stick to their hands as well, and delays the movement by a few microseconds. Liv uses a Vive, which has a much faster, more responsive tracking system. They're also really fucking good at Beat Saber, but the headset helps make the videos look better.
I haven’t really been intrigued enough by VR headsets to justify getting one. This game has changed that completely. The more I see it, the more I want to play. It looks like you’ve been thrust 100 years into the future.
Lindy Rey yes. A normal consumer pc and a normal consumer Vive and you can play. If you want to take videos like this one - mixed reality - all you need is a 3rd HTC Vive controller.
It's....WILD that I have come back to this one song that got me hyped enough to go out and buy this game. It popped into my head suddenly and I wanted to see the original video that fueled my addiction. Man, it's been awhile since this song was any sort of difficult anymore and it goes to show how much better I have become all from watching your video.
Sorry to burst your bubble but light years is measured in distance not time it means say a planet is 10 light years away it would be how far away something is and to get there at the speed of light
@@ohyeahyeaharmyhideout3860 , so you'd never say something like "He's miles ahead of the competition"? Sorry to burst your bubble, but it works just as well.
When I first saw footage of just the game play from the players perspective I imagined how dorky one would look playing this just waving hands about, you've proven me wrong and looked damn good doing it!
Really? Several of the expert songs included in the base game look like this. Having beaten all of them, I would know. This song looks hard, sure, but not much harder than anything I've seen in the base game.
Robbie Bubble oculus got a better screen . Resolution and Field of View are the same but you have less screen door effect and the headset is much lighter
De1uge honestly i believe that just learning how to read the notes at that speed would be the hardest part. Its not like having to learn and register what key to press like in Osu. People say this game is harder than that but honestly it is not because it is using your arms which people who have them usually use them for task everyday.
Right? I was like, "Is this some purposely boring program designed to show off VR tech? Because I could do this with my eyes clo--" **beat drops** "Oh...."
lol. truth is. compared to other beat saber guy specially girls. He looks silly now. compared to them 😂 but he is a pioneer. imagine may 1 2018 beat saber got released. and this was posted may 12. just a week. and he has full mixed reality video... its really cool for that time.
I looked through your channel... You can literally see the progression from osu to VR equivalents, each becoming more difficult until we reached now. You got yourself a sub ma man. The drive you have looking for a challenge impresses me to no end.
Of all of the spammy modded maps that have come out so far (you know the ones), this one actually spikes my interest as being very close to how the original designers wanted the levels to be like, and honestly I'm really excited to hopefully eventually play it!
This is what made me get a VR headset. This man has brought me so much happiness. And now I have a somewhat successful twitch channel because of it. Thank you for making this.
I think what's most impressive about this is how you move your body to maximize your swing length, while still slicing through the middle of the cubes. I just FC'd this myself and got nowhere near your score. I actually had a better score (342k) on a run where I played more aggressively and I missed 2 cubes. I've got tons of respect for you man and I can't wait to see what you crush next.
"It gets worse the longer you look." I've usually enjoyed the cringe of this meme but with this video it's definitely there. First I thought it was just hard having to remember to hit the color block with the correct colored saber, especially if one color shows up on the opposite side you'd hit it with. THEN I went and noticed the freaking arrows on the blocks indicating how you hit them! Add that along with when the song gets fast paced with a bunch of blocks and you're in for a fun time learning to adjust to the madness. I'd love to play this.
Well done! Props to you and the developers of this game. This may well be the game I'm second most excited for once I get a Vive. ( first beam Skyrim VR, because come on, Skyrim VR.) This looks like the kind of game it would be really fun to get good at. Thanks for the cool video!
Hi mike do yourself a favor and get GORN to go with that. The single most fluid and fun experience I've had (and I've had my vive since the beginning).
I got a little under his score on this song first try. Also, if you play the game non-stop for 3+ hours then you get some good cardio, but I wouldn't call it an "insane workout" XD
Heroman you did not get a little under his score first try . This guy is a good player and he has pacticed this song alot . Your not matching his score first try i call bullshit your a troll who doesent own a VR headset .
As a fan of rhythm games this is truly amazing. I first saw your video on facebook but now you've earned yourself a like, subscriber and follower on twitch!
I really love your vids, we have the same course, started with osu! then you bought your VR headset and played rhythm games on it, You won a loyal fan today :) hope the best to you Hash
Sorenkair yeah Osu is more impressive cause it's harder to Handle a pen tablet or a mouse over a VR controller, it's cause it's way more ergonomic, but this looks cooler you are right
Note he probably practiced this particular song many many times and is experienced at the game. Remember rockstar? There's beginner to full out master type songs. Something for everyone
I got a VR set and Beat Saber. There's a large gap between "hard" and "expert" songs, but U can pull these expert songs in 10hours of gameplay and training. It's a lot of fun!
Thomas Weinreich honestly it’s not that bad. I played at a friends house for around 4-5 hours and I was able to consistently beat the expert mode songs with a B or higher score. It’s a lot easier than it looks. You just need some good hand eye coordination
Yo boss, just dropping by your video to let you know you're getting popular on Facebook through Viral TRND. also this video makes me want a VR set just to play this game
I’ve watched this like 5 time over the last few months and I just now realized that the cubes are also directional in terms of which way you need to slice them. Not just color coded. That makes it like 10x harder than I thought it was.
2:30 (It's pretty quick) And 3:10 (This one's easier to spot) You do NOT want to set up notes that require you to swing your controllers towards each other on the exact same plane. In all the built in tracks, those are like a Z shape. The arrow on the top row is facing right and the arrow below it is facing left, so your arms will cross but your controllers won't smack together. If the blocks are literally right next to each other and aiming at each other like [>][
thanks, yes you are right, there are some >< spots...which is pretty stupid and a design flaw. official tracks would never include this and as you say, it should not be allowed. Let's see if it's going to be allowed, if so, we can still ask the developers to disable it.
I saw this video and immediately bought the game and downloaded this song. I am pretty much the polar opposite of you and am flailing around and sweating like crazy, but damn it’s fun! Maybe 1000 more tries and I can turn no fail mode off... Thanks for the incredible video (and introducing me to this amazing song.)
Oh, the game is called Beat Saber! It is a PC VR game available on Steam and the Oculus Store. It can be played using the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows Mixed Reality.
