@@snappertrx It's the best sound of that time. My father lived this movie, we watched every year it was on T V. It reminds me of a lovely time. As does all this music , my parents listened too and I fell in live with. Thank you so much Past. ♥️
You likely got to dance to LIVE orchestras like Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, etc. I envy you. I'm 73 and never did that. But I love playing their music on my trombone, alongside a 29 yr-old lady who loves it as much as I do.
Today, I turned 97 years young and these songs bring back the greatest memories. Time really goes by too fast. I still remember my 17th birthday. Feels like yesterday.
My grandmother is 100yrs old, my mom's 80, I'm 50, my daughter is 30 and my granddaughter is 11. I remember my grandmother playing this at breakfast. I fell in love with the era, and I passed this love and appreciation of the turn of the century music to my daughter and granddaughter. This is lovely! ❤🌹
Reading these comments is the absolute highlight of my evening. Seeing people young and old drawn to one place because of a love of music that no longer passes on our radio stations. Reading the stories from the ones who actually lived during a time when this music was common is absolutely stunning and I'm happy I'm a part of a generation where this is all possible❤️
FBI same man, i feel like usted to live in that time before, i have nostalgia for this kind of music since i can remember like 4 years old and below, it sucks😔
I’m 27 and this is the top beautiful music I’ve ever heard! My great grandpa who was born in Brooklyn in 1933 would have loved this, he passed in 2019 and he was a wonderful soul
I swear us young ppl that are 20 and younger are feeling nostalgic bc we are souls from this era! Like I’m 13 and feel SO nostalgic like every other young one listening to this!!!
So nice to see young people appreciating this music. I'm 77 and a singer. My duo partner and I do song from the early 20th century and into the'50s . I also have really liked this music since I was young.🎶🎼🎵
I am listening with pleasure. I am 42 years old and I really believe that that generation of 20's was clean and beautiful. I wish to could live on that period.
I am 58 y.o. Russian lady, who loves vintage music since the age of 15. There was a retro cinema in Leningrad (now St Petersburg), where I had an opportunity to watch the best Russian and foreign retro films made in 1920-60s. All foreign films were dubbed into Russian. Now I keep watching Agatha Christie's Poirot episodes with sweet music, beautiful settings and charming atmosphere of 1930s. I am glad I can listen to my favourite song Al Bowlly Love Is The Sweetest Thing. Thanks a lot.
As an 11 year old, it’s so nice to hear the songs my great grandparents listened to. It’s almost like I’m stepping into the 20’s and having a listen myself.
As a 13 year old, this music makes me feel bad on missing out on the 1900's. It must have been a lovely time. But at the same time I love the 2000's. It's weird how not a lot of kids my age don't listen to these masterpieces.
Never in human history have we been able to listen to music recorded 100 years ago. This is truly unique. Unlike modern music, which is more of a spectators sport, these were tunes one could hum, sing along and whistle to. Beautiful. 🌹
Hallo, thank U so much for this. music - it changed my life . A lot of years I. LIVE. with. this music. step by step. every day, from morning. to. evening , by driving , even in the work . I am so. happy , I am. old. sold. from Czech , just. with. coffee. and. listening. this. beautiful music. in this. lovely morning. . Thanks. so much . Mirka.
i'm 60+, therefore, these songs were on the air and my parents were teenagers and they weren't married yet. but my father being a musician(though not his profession), played the piano and accordion, and he would have loved to listen to these songs . He had a collection of CDs of the hit songs of his earthly days...he passed away in 2018, at the age of 87. may his soul rest in peace.
It's wonderful reading the comments of young people who are enjoying this music. This music was always in my house while I was growing up, and I played it when my children were growing up. My son is 35, and he's mentioned that he can't believe he has friends who don't know this music at all while he knows all the lyrics and can sing them.
I just finished feeding my mother. My mum is 95, now confined to bed end stage dementia… no talking, moving, no anything. up until 1 year ago four of us cared for Mum. Then a sister died suddenly whilst on duty, then six weeks ago my other sister died suddenly. It’s just my brother and I now. I’m 67 my brother 70. I live 200 kms from Mum but try as I have done for many years to be with her every weekend. Now I must step up even more. Mum loved her music, I Thankyou for this beautiful compilation 🙏. I still have to work to pay my mortgage 😕😴 so tired. I’ve had cancer three times and have bronchiectasis.. but! Hey that’s life isn’t it. You do what you have to do. Putting our mother into a home was never an option. Our Mum endured more violence from dad than any woman should. 😡 Thankyou once more. I have saved and subscribed..
Just picturing my Great Grandparents sitting on either side of this Enormous Wooden Radio with ivory colored knobs and dials.... Just listening intently... Imagination..drifting..just like the wiles of a long hard day.... And what came out of that conspicuous wooden contraption was...MAGIC... Just....MAGICAL!..... I miss u dearly!.....
I am 35 years young, I'm listening to music twice my age and I can't stop telling everyone that the world should off just stop in time in the '20. Cheers to all of you good people enjoying these tunes
This brings back memories of the songs my great grandma listened to before she died. She was born in 1920, and had a good life into her 90s. Wishing she was still here so I could celebrate her 100th birthday with her
All the songs i remember from the 1940's...every day i tune in to this music..Al Bowlly & Al Jolson & Satchmo & NZ born piano player Jack Thompson...are all my favorite ..it keeps me alive..yes i am New Zealand born....
I love this music and movies from this era My mom and dad were born in 1934 and 1936. They’re both gone now,but I know the radio must have been on at their houses when they were kids. When I was growing up in the 60 and 70s the radio was always on too or records playing
91 year old grandpa in the ICU. He loves this music and it's nice to play it for him and even though he's sleeping I can see him respond to the music. He listens to the same 15-20 songs on repeat when he drives.
I'm 22, but I feel nostalgic listening to these type of songs because I grew up watching Tom and Jerry, Lady and the Tramp, Looney Tunes, and other cartoons with 20-40s songs. I remember getting scolded for turning the tv on early in the morning🤣 I was born in 2000, but the music I used to listen were the ones before that year and this just brought the little kid in me❤️
I am gathering a playlist of 1920s-40s songs to play to old folk in our rest homes here in Hawke"s Bay. I know when they hear these songs they will come alive and want to sing along and dance to.. Our old folk need to reminisce about the good old days.
The reason you guys like this music is because it's really good music. It was produced in an era when there were many songwiters and songwriting teams, and the competition was fierce. There was tremendous creativity and standards were high. The other thing is that mostly only the best stuff has survived to the present. I love this old music as well as old movies. I know a lot of young people won't watch black and white films. You are really missing out. Seriously, look up the original King Kong, Lost Horizon, Meet John Doe, Top Hat, Casablanca, Frankenstein, The Mummy, Dracula, 42nd Street, Mr Smith Goes to Washington, Citizen Kane...anything with the Marx Bros. Then there are the silent films. Don't get me started.
Yes, remarkable that youngsters WON'T watch black and white films! I actually had a young girl in her early 20's say to me: "Oh, I won't watch anything in black and white, those old movies aren't worth the time"! An amazingly block headed response to my query if she ever saw Casablanca!!! Unfortunate.
@@danac.morreale7549 I find that funny since I'm nearly 15 and I've watched a lot of not only black and white talkies but even old silent films in my free time
I remember listing to this music through what they would call an old fashioned valve radio whilst reading a good book on a cold and windy night,,with the rain lashing against the window,,and there was a raging fire in the fireplace on the go,so you had the best of everything,,,warm fire,,,warm sounding music,,, that only a valve radio can give you,,,and the contrast of the rain battering against the window,,,sheer bliss,,
I remember in like 2nd or 1st grade, I used to stay up late watching tom and Jerry, it just warms my heart about the old music and the old cartoons, wish we can brin back the old days... World Finna end soon, see yall another time
I'm fifteen and remember my great grandma listening to these many years ago because they reminded her of her husband. every time I hear them I cry. imagine growing up through this beautiful music
I'm 16 and love listening to this kind of song, It makes me think of when ppl were elegant and gorgeous, listening to these songs and driving a classic Chevrolet. It makes me chill
Over the past few years I bought a number of CD's from this company as birthday and Christmas presents for an elderly friend who died recently and I don't think I could have given him anything better. It was the music of his era and he played them every day and the music helped him to get through his last few years as a widower who longed to be reunited with his late wife. The quality of these recordings is excellent.
It hasn't been forgotten yet, a hundred years for some of these, so it's doubtful they'll ever be forgotten. People a hundred years from now will be listening to this, along with Black Sabbath and AC/DC!
Same, I guess it is a testament to how amazing the songs from this generation were, to induce feelings of nostalgia in a mind that was created decades later is astounding. I too was born in the 1990s.
I have just purchased this for my mum, she has been poorly for a while and hopefully this will put a smile on her face. born myself in the late 50s love listening to this music.
Hope your mum is feeling better and I'm sure that the music will lift her spirits ... Abdul Abulbul Amir always makes me laugh out loud! Thanks for supporting our independent label.
I am only in my forties and not even my parents were born at this time but I really love that time, seen it in movies and videos, and people had class, dressed well, no mobile phones to distract them, and less traffic and noise and the whole world was beautiful..
I am eighty-two years young and this is the music my parents listened to, and me too. What nostalgia, what memories. Today's music doesn't compare. Does anyone know a safe and sound chat room where Big Band affectionado's can get together?
:) and many stories to tell too no doubt. I envy you having those memories :) I love listening to people from that era recount their memories. what a time - never will it be repeated.
I don’t mean to sound like that guy, but I do enjoy music from this era a lot more than that of today’s. I do like some of today’s make no mistake, I just like this a lot better. It always warrants a little bit of making fun of me from my other buddies in the barracks when I blast this stuff
I am only 16 and for some reason, I just can't understand what my generation sees in music now. I can't understand anything they like honestly, other then listening to music and doing art. Music back then was lively and clean. There was no swears, no autotune, and no rap. I envy anybody who was alive to see these bands play live.
I agree a lot mate! I am 14 and I see all my classmates being edgy and listening to these over-autotuned songs that sound almost the same. I feel frustrated on how not many people of this generation try to explore more music genres and just stick to one that is not even quality!
I’m only 16 years old but listening to this in the morning on the way to school in my ‘79 Firebird is the greatest nostalgia ever. What a great sound to wake up to!
I used to listen to these with my dad when i was a kid, i am 89 now, i have lived a long ful-filling life and i miss the good ol' days when me and my pa used to go fishing and hiking. When I went to Vietnam i came back with a serious case of PTSD. I was a paratrooper in the 1st cav, when i was discharged i found out my father had died from liver failure when i was gone, as he liked to drink quite a bit. Whenever i hear these songs it reminds me of the great times i had in my youth. (thank you to my grandson for helping me to type out this commentary)
as a 14 year old, listening this type of music makes me somehow nostalgic. I love the music in this generation, it makes me feel some kind of feeling that I simply cannot understand.
I wish I could travel back to the 20s and live it up. I really wish I could. But part of me knows I have already. It’s just a blessing to have this music too.
my grand parents' songs were so beautiful, they took the time to enjoy the simplest things in life. this is an exemple to follow in a world where evething is going faster
