I surfed socal for 20 yrs, mostly in san diego county: o'side harbor and pier, tamarack st in carlsbad, cardiff reef, swami's point. Able to surf trestles as my dad was navy officer at Pendleton. Base sticker on car allowed me ez access.

I’m not sure. Looked like the cut was on the scalp, but I was 100 yards away when it happened so not sure. He was conscious, but def rattled. Really hoping he’s okay.
Just saw he posted on IG. Says he's gonna be fine 🤙 I got all his rides and the rescue on video. Didn't want to post it until I knew that he wasn't hurt seriously. So I'll probably post it this week
Nah, sum of Pipe's best surfers are out there and a lot more people are wearing helmets, it's good to see more guys having them on. Koa's injury would probably be less severe if he had one on.... Use your noggin and cover your melon
