This made me think of a S6 lite (DeX) as an Espresso 13" monitor (tab & monitor) set up seen the other day. The idea is the same regardless of actual gear envolved. Very nice and reasonably affordable. The only iffy bit is the future of DeX. I hope Samsung will continue this line of gear.
Already have s23 ultra. Why on earth would i spend 900USD just for that monitor? If i am willing to spend that much money, wouldn't i i go for galaxy s8 ultra or tab s9 series??? There will be dozens of advantages with the tablet than a external monitor
not a terrible point. This is a 4K OLED display though so if you need a larger quality display and you would use it for more than just Android stuff this could be a good option.
@@henlohenlo689 well actually it can. Samsung tablets have the feature to use it as an external display, although it's available only for samsung laptops. But yeah, i agree that if someone wants to use consoles and as a display for other devices, its great 👍
@@kabirulhalder4872 maybe ur right though a 2nd tablet is better for the dollar. i was thinking maybe external monitor might be good, but i think the price point for external monitors should be quite lower than a tablet, seems like they are similar prices tablets? then i don't the bang for the buck is there. i do want to use my phone with a larger screen in addition to a tablet, but i guess i could simply own 2 tablets and 1 of the tablets of the 2 be a budget tablet like the a8. i actually own the a8 and use it for google docs, but maybe in future i will add the s9 or the s tablet. if a good external monitor portable costs 200 bucks or so let me know if you find it?
You only have to update your mobile phone. You can start working on the go, keep working on your monitor when you get somewhere, disconnect and keep going. Its cheaper to buy a New monitor than repair a broken tablet screen. You can use it on your computer or even steam deck.
i would totally use portable monitors or extra screen only if the price point per screen size is very low in relation to a tablet. if it is similar price then it makes more sense to by a 2nd or 3rd tablet instead. im open to a decive that is ONLY extra screen if they manage to make it cheap. that would be the goal. more screen space without breaking bank.
Thanks for the review - can you use the s-pen directly on screen to (as an example) mark-up pdf's in the Notes app (Samsung)? Or does that only operate on the phone screen itself?
This monitor is certainly quite amazing. For $1000 US it should be. I've been passively in the market for a monitor to use with my LG phone's Screen+ (DEX equivalent from the other Korean giant) for quite some time. The best deal that I've seen so far is the 13.3 inch Innocn OLED portable monitor that's currently going for $165 + tax through Amazon, brand new. Yeah, you lose the touchscreen functionality, a couple of inches diagonal, and a bit of resolution (1080p) but it's got the HDR, 1MS refresh rate, and stereo speakers. I'd like to see Shane review it.

When you conbect the S23 Ultra to the monitor , the s23 battery powers the monitor, however, how long time is the S23 ultra battery able to keep the monitor on??? I thought to connect the S23 ultra the minitor directly for Gaming through DEX THANKS
How about when I use my phone as my camera for live streaming and while it is connected to the monitor, I use the monitor for gaming. Will it work like that??
Pls give me information of the cable that you used to connect your phone and the monitor. I could not use only 1 type C cable to use Samsung Dex on my Desklab monitor, my cable is Type C to C support Thunderbolt 4 and compatible with previous versions. Thank.
so does this moniter have 2 hdmi ports basically one tha t i can use for my dex using USB c and one for my ps3 with hdmi mini although i do have a 244p moniter for my pc and ps5 i want another one but i dont have much space
