Nice video! We have been living in Dijon for ten years, and we love it. You have portrayed our city pretty much the way we see it every day. We have seen the city center improving gradually over the years. We see quite a lot of tourists (our house is one if the landmarks on the owl tour), and we appreciate them! We have three major shopping malls, all linked by the tramway, but we almost never go there, the center has all the shops we need. We also have some very nice hiking opportunities around, with beautiful hills, cliffs, a lake, rivers, forests, a beautiful botanical garden. A bientôt !

Loved loved loved this! I felt like I was watching the Amelia & JP version of "Emily in Paris" with the great French background music, etc. Funny story: years ago my brother and I accidentally ended up in Dijon for a few days and we LOVED it there. The people were so friendly. We also went to Beaune for a wine tasting and that was amazing as well. Great video!

@@Mir-wx5ui Thanks for your concern, but I already moved from the US to Europe a number of years ago, and I know how hard it is. Of course Emily is fiction. I was just commenting on Amelia's and JP's production values for this video, which I thought were delightful.

Just a quick FYI, When looking at the price of a restaurant meal in France there is a service charge embedded in the menu price. It's called "Service Compris", usually 15%. It functions somewhat like a tip, so you generally don't tip in France unless you want to show some special consideration, maybe an extra 5% or so. But it is not expected. So when you see a menu price of 12 euros, think of it more as a 10 euro menu price and a 2 euro tip. The weather in France this spring has been unusually wet and overcast. Even here on the Côte d'Azur where it is normally sunny.

About the "dirty" stereotype that seems to pop up in every French bashing conversation, I find France to be much cleaner than most countries I've been to. It certainly is much cleaner than most of the US. Some spots in Paris at specific times can get a little dirty but I'm always surprised when I see videos from "travel influencers" about how filthy Paris is. If Paris is filthy than what can to say about New York or LA? I'd admit that the graffiti situation is a little out of hand but that's pretty much the same thing all over Europe. I blame that on the fact that some treat graffiti as an art instead of throwing the "artists" in jail where they belong for vandalizing the public space.

@@Sayitlikitiz101 Stayed a month in an apartment a street off from the Eiffel Tower. The mostly American tourists left trash every morning while they waited for the tour guides. The streets were cleaned every evening but the number of tourists was overwhelming. As a frequent visitor, I would NOT recommend visiting during the summer.

On Numbeo a comparison between Dijon and Porto, the second largest city in Portugal, the country where I live, shows that rent in Dijon is 48% lower than in Porto, which is shocking. Most Portuguese have been priced out of the rental market in both Porto and LIsbon. Students now have a really hard time studying in those two cities. But, on the positive side for Porto, restaurants and groceries there are much cheaper. You can have about four cups of coffee in Porto for the price of one in Dijon and two bottles of wine for the price of two. But, workers in Dijon make a lot more money on average than those in Portugal so they can afford the higher prices.
