No it's not at all important if you fools think there is a need of adding sugar in a salty dish then clearly you don't understand proper method of making pasta that's why adding random shit in the name of recipe cause even oregano and chilli flakes are stupid in pasta. It's pasta not pizza that these seasoning is needed
