Absolutely fantastic info and way of looking at it. I'm now setting up my driver opposite my trail shoulder and seeing much more consistent swing path. I absolutely love the no-fear fairway finder option for tight layouts or at the start of a round. One thing I've been doing lately is slow mo swings to teach the body the sequence, seems to be working and it's a good warmup as well.

After my lesson with Shawn and learning how to setup like Mu / Savv on my driver I have really improved my driving overall. I love teeing up the ball nice and high and setting my club down further back behind the ball and trying to catch it on the up the best I can. This is a great video!!

Yeah I think it amazes people I play with just how far and how high I hit it with such low strain. I was told Sunday my drive looked like a PGA Tour player drive LOL. All because of Shawn! I went from the 220 carry guy to the 270 plus carry guy by just changing to a strong grip and hitting it on the way up.

When you talk about the draw for Mu and you said he takes the diagonal stance...is it just his feet or do the hips and shoulders go diagonally too? Hard to see on video. I always have found that asking a question that may be obvious to others means there are others that want to ask the same question but don't ...no question is silly! You have already changed my game. Just goes to prove you are a natural born teacher!! Much love from Texas! Ty Shawn!

Hey Gregory! You are welcome and thank you for the comment! On our premium channel, we have a whole series dedicated to the diagonal stance that Hogan used for his long clubs and Driver in his later years after his accident. For those who don’t know about our premium channel, see www.wisdomingolfpremium.com and get access to my life’s work for just $9.95 per month (everyone needs to be able to afford good instruction; the game of golf needs this) and see the “driver” and “driver part 2” videos to start, then “great driver nugget” and then the “diagonal series driver” which gives you a nice prioritized way to go about the driver.

This is great and I concur. The one relatively minor point of note I'd make is that the low point of the arc does generally move forward from where the hands meet for the grip as there is a pressure and center of mass shift forward in the swing. This happens a bit less so with driver than irons. The visual and proprioceptive cues/keys of seeing and feeling that an ascending blow is achievable are excellent!

🇨🇦 Bill Morgan I have been watching Shawn for a bout 2 months now. In my 50 year search for the perfect swing I have seen countless videos, taken lessons...this guy does if for me. At 72 I'm hitting the ball in a much more comfortable manner, and much longer. The swing feels like it should, nice and wide and free. 15 min of gold.

Fantastic lesson, coach. I will definitely experiment a bit more with tee height to max out my existing launch and spin conditions. My driver speed is typically between 123-127mph topping out at 130mph and 187mph ball speed all with teeing the ball lower. Next stop is to try and tee it higher then let it fly!! Great stuff and thank you!!

Man I wish I could have an in person lesson with Shawn!! These videos have changed everything for my game! I started playing last November and watched countless hours of instructors saying the same thing over and over about bending wrists, rolling wrists, etc. and I never could find anything that would take away my massive slice and help me fully rotate my body(not very flexible) and help me stop coming over the top. My playing partners were all saying the same things as the instructors and I never could truly improve my game except for putting and chipping which still ain’t great but it’s improving. But I was losing too many strokes off the tee and couldn’t get my irons to connect at all. Then I found W.I.G. And he said everything almost completely opposite to what I’ve heard and I was truly scared to try it because it was so different from what I had heard. So I started converting little bits at a time and about a month ago I just dove head first and completely committed to every part of this process and I went from barely hitting 200-220 yards with a massive slice to a 320 yard drive on a par 5 a week ago (downhill, with the wind, perfect conditions) with a power fade and my playing partners can’t figure out why all the sudden I’m crushing the ball, and I’m not telling them 😁 our best player only beat me by 5 strokes the other day and I have a lot of room to improve with my irons still yet but the improvement is remarkable and I’M LOVING IT!! Thanks Shawn for letting us in on some of your secrets they’re making all the difference! Love from North Carolina, USA 🇺🇸

@@octoberskye28 i have my sim 2 it was originally in 10.5 but after this setup and a few shots i looked on trackman and the launch angle had gone up so much i cranked the loft down to 9° and carried on upping my launch angle and the ball was just going further and further each time .. the best thing this setup has done for me is really optimise my numbers the attack angle is now positive and the launch angle is so much higher so im getting all the benefits of swinging at 117mph seeing the distances is really eye opening ive even seen massive distances in my 5 wood aswell with the same setup on the tee some holes i play it safe and go 5 wood ive started carrying that alot further aswell really seeing so much benefits from this setup .. ive never spoke to shawn clements in my life never had a lesson from him im in the UK so im not promoting anything 🤣 but i can deffinatly say just from watching 2 videos and taking it to the range it has changed my game off the tee .. at one point a club fitter wanted me to have a 14.5 degree driver because my launch angle was so bad but i had so much club head speed after months of racking my brains i came across shawns youtube channel last week and changed my game in a matter of days pal 💯⛳👌

There appears to be some forward shaft lean, almost like an iron shot, with the driver. Is that correct or does the camera angle trick the eye?
@golflessons
@golflessons 2 года назад
What you see at address is not what you will find at impact; the key is in the predictions based on the actions to target. We are getting ready to throw the club in the direction we want the ball to start on and we are predicting that either the tip of the tee is getting clipped on the way up in that direction or the sole of club will sweep the ground in that direction depending on the tee height.

I learned to tee off a little low actually helped me with my consistency off tee. When I tee it high, I actually trying to hit it hard n causing a lot of issues off tee, it's fun to try out on the range, however it's not really necessary when play competitive golf. I think for an average golfer who's playing blue/white tees, 265 carry is plenty for most course, therefore accuracy is more important than distance in my opinion.
