Thank you so much for this video! I didn’t even know what the problem or fix was before this video. I always kept pushing the back leg too far back and ended up with the front foot way too close and after watching this I realized I put too much emphasis on catchinh the weight with my front foot, so I ended up leaninh forward, sequentially jumping forward too, and ending up in a shit position that «just happened» every time. Today’s session was so much better, I felt like I finally «got it», the basics of a proper jerk, instead of just yoloing it and hoping I’ll push the front leg further this time. This is the content that keeps people like me wanting to progress and keep at it! Huge thanks again!
I think this greatly explains why not just with my bummed right knee the spilt jerk never feels very good for me but also why the power jerk feels so much more natural and easier to me.
Thanks very much for the tips. I've been working on my split jerk and, my coach always says "push your front foot out further". I like the advice about kicking the front foot forward and keeping the head upright. I'll give this a go.
Memento Mori never forget. Also, great video! I’ve basically done everything you say not to do lol the one thing I’m always afraid of during the split jerk is clocking myself in the jaw as I dip and drive.
Great tips! Jerks are definitely my biggest weakness right now. Also, you should tell those guys in the background to STFU when you're making a video lol.
@@juuzouuu9103 haha, yeah, I was mostly joking. I actually kind of like the ambiance that the background noise adds to his other recent videos-- but this week the noise was a bit excessive. A lapel mic would help, but that's also pretty annoying to set up. In my workout vlogs I just use my phone audio and I do my oly workouts in my backyard in the middle of West Philly-- so I definitely can't cast stones about poor audio! My neighbors were having a passive-aggressive argument outside when I was trying to test out my c+j max recently lol
