Perfecting 3D Acrylic Flowers 

I'm getting my first set of acrylic sculptured nails done tomorrow! I've never been very girly and have rarely been able to maintain nice nails. I find 'girly' environments a bit intimidating, like hair dressers, beauty salons, spas etc - because I never know the correct terminology for things, but watching your videos has given me the confidence to try something new. I did lots of research on nail salons in my area and called up the most highly rated and recommended one. I asked about the application, maintenance, removal, potential damage etc and they were so polite and friendly! I'm so excited!! 💅🏼

They would look stunning over a blue base, I love them so much

My mom used to be a nail technician over 10 years ago. I remember once she got a hold of some Chinese nail art magazines when I was a little girl. I used to look at them for hours and hours; at all the beautiful models with their beautiful hair and skin. And I remember them having nail art just like this! You truly brought me back to that moment!

These 3D flowers are amazing Suzie! It made me giggle when you got so excited about perfecting your design with the lavender edged flower. I think you could definitely develop different flower styles like an orchid or a poppy. I could totally see a dark green/evergreen nail with some red poppies!

I love that you're showing a technique that you said you've particularly struggled with. It's very human and I think it's awesome to show your own mistakes through teaching others! :)

If you get a small bead & let it go matte before you start pressing it out it will allow you to press the petal out easier. And you could lift the sides of the petals so the petals so they are a little more raised & not so flat against the nail. I 💜 Your 🌸's & 📹's, I can watch them over & over again. That purple edge on those petals really made the flower pop! That would be a great look for a wedding, done in the bride's colors, of course. I think the flowers actually look like camellias, which just look like relaxed roses.

I've been HOOKED on your videos ever since Jenna Marbles mentioned you. After binge watching for the last couple weeks I had a question! How do you deal with peeling nails? I like my natural nails but they tend to be quite thin and want to peel at the tips. Should I buff them to even out the surface? Also, I would love to see a video on tips to keep your natural nails healthy (vitamins you could take, maintenance, how to make them stronger etc.). Thanks!

I've seen others do the petals on some wax paper or the paper you do the sculpture nails on then you can design the flower then pick up a finished flower on your nail or each petal individually to design your flower.

Suz, I don't do nails or have them (I'm a biter 😐) but I enjoy your videos and I really appreciate that you try things even if you aren't sure what the outcome could be. We can all use some of that optimistic fearlessness when trying something new and give ourselves a chance to practice our craft, make mistakes, and improve. You're the coolest!

CATS!! Could you tell us about your cats at some point, please? Your petals look cute. I learned how to do them with giant oval brushes. It's SOOOO hard to keep the brush dry! I'd love to get hold of one of those delightfully tiny brushes. Thank you for these tips! Always wonderful.

Are you using the monomer with the dip powder?

I don't even paint my nails because no matter what I do, they chip almost immediately, but I've watched about 20 of these videos, and I'm fascinated. Your designs are so gorgeous, and you do such a great job teaching!! Thanks for sharing your passion with us, including know-nothings like me. 😊😊

Hi Suzie! You have such an amazing and growing influence here on RU-vid and I would Love to see you do a video about Nail salon misconceptions and dangers!! There is still so much confusion with clients on what exactly is right and wrong when they are in a nail salon! Things like improper removal of acrylics, MMA, up-charging misleading products (solar nails), unsanitary utensils, being sure your tech is Licensed and working legally, and so much more! You are such a great resource for what is Proper technique and I think it's important to inform clients about what to look out for at discount and high end salons alike! I'm a nail tech and I'd love to be able to share a professionally produced video to clients, friends, and family that sums up all the important things to look out when receiving a nail service!
