My college band uses a warm up almost identical to lip slurs 2 but without the quarter notes as part of our daily warmup. I was nodding off to sleep (it’s like 1 am, so not because it’s boring) and when I heard it my head whipped up faster than a napping recruit when the Drill Sergeant walks in.
My Trombone teacher from jr high and high school, Keig Garvin, was a former Army Band musician. THESE were the warm-ups he had me do. So funny to find this on the web..... Reminds me of how much joy I find in playing. My deceased Mother would ask me if I was playing? I really need to play my horn. It is my meditation and truth.... ❤❤❤
Now I want to show this to my band teachers. I'm in high school and this is my fourth year in band/playing trumpet. I'm in 9th grade and I started band in 6th grade so that's why it's only four years. Also, do you need to be in the military (of any branch) to be able to play in their band? (If that makes any sense.) I'm thinking about joining the army or the air forces after high school and I really want to continue to play my instrument and would love to play in the military band.
Great question! We are all active duty Soldiers in the Army Field Band. The same goes for all of the other military bands. You must join the service in order to play in a service band.
Thank you for your service!!! Would you do me a favor? I’m Korean civilian. I’m just start to play the Trumpet. Let me know how to download the sheets. The website is not open.
"All you need is your instrument", uh what about music, huh? I'm in orchestra and we need music and our instruments -_-. I'm in the bass clef because I'm a cellist
Thanks for watching the video! If you'd like to follow along, there are download links for the sheet music is in the description. Since your instrument is in bass clef, try the trombone and tuba parts. Hope this helps!
