You did not show the transfer system from the hypodermic needle/butterfly needle at medial vein (into tubes). I was hoping to see how the transfer system works. Thank you for the informative content.
Whenever I get my blood drawn, I always ask the phlebotomist to do it from a hand vein. I did that twice in 2014, and it wasn't as painful as the inner elbow.
You should always wear gloves-- I do not touch patient skin with my bare hands-- then when you get your supplies you never touch the gray part of the blood tubing to keep sterile because that is a needle in that gray part.
