Definitely have a different style CDI box in the yellow. Check your stator wiring, if you have both wire on the smaller 2 plug that goes into the CDi, you have a DC style stator. you gotta match the CDI to the each Stator. I had to learn when i bought the wrong CDi boxes a few times lol
Was gonna say this! That yellow scooter runs a DC cdi box which puts a constant 12v to the cdi box the way to test it is pull the box and put a volt meter on the power in line and its read 12v on an AC the same test will show 0v until you hit the start button
When driving that 150cc quad thing. The person driving, should have been tucking as low as possible. like was done on the mopeds. that being said. fun too watch!
Had one on my daughters taotao 125 ATV, it worked awesome in above 70 degree weather. When it got below that it didn't even start it... Went back to stock. I guess these Racing CDI's are hit or miss..
It's a DC CDI box. The two scooters need AC CDIs. Always check your stock CDI box before you buy a new one, if it's missing a connection on the 2 prong connecter, it's AC. If it has both wires on the 2 prong connector, it's DC.
you have to know whether or not you have an ac or dc unit. looks like you have an ac box but the taotao looks like dc machine. if you can turn the lights on before actually turning the engine over its dc. also "gy6" is a broad term. a 50cc gy6 will requite different parts from a 150 gy6. i have a 50cc gy6 with a 6pin dc cdi. i ordered an orange 6pin dc cdi with no rev limit and it took my scooter from going 34mph max to 44mph max. it has to be the right box tho if its the wrong kind it will never work
We ordered the wrong one.. We have the correct one coming now! our Mopeds need the DC version of the cdi box. We will have a new video soon with that test. Hopefully we arent disappointed again. Thanks for coming back to watch this one tho! We appreciate it!
You got AC current and you got DC current on a lot of these scooters just look it up through your homework you got to have all the pens and all the wires got a match or it won't work
So, I've watched this a couple of times now and the downside is that if I watch anything else that has any sort of speed run, i can't see the people driving by with out hearing "NEEEOOOOOOOOOMMMMM" in my head. Thanks for ruining youtube for me. 🤣
