I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. The reason this feels like it could be an NCT 127 or U concept is because for this album (NCT 2018, Empathy) they switched concepts. NCT Dream did “Go” which was more like an NCT 127 concept more mature and dark, and NCT 127 did “Touch” which was a very cutesy, bubbly concept which was more like NCT Dream was.

GO was such a unique concept it was honestly one of the dreamies best eras.. the lyrics of the song of breaking the social standards this along with them being teens during that time showing that they can be mature too, the dance had so many details kind of the feel of like.. rebelling teens and it's so sad watching them grow up this era was truly showing their potential, we need another concept like this i dont think any other kpop group gave me the vibes this song gives ! it was ahead of the time !!!!

SM have this training for different genres in dancing for their artists. Jaehyun mentioned in NNN that he took dance sport lessons during his training period. SM trained their artists to different genre of dancing for them to become skilled dancer.

Haechan really has the elegance and sophistication nailed into his dancing. In a recent video with 127, he said he has learned ballet, sport dance, jazz, contemporary dance so it really shows how skilled and smooth he is as a dancer!!! Truly a talented boy and he hasn't even turned 20 yet lmao what am I doing with my lifeeeee 😭✋

I remember the Dreamies saying ho the director had them walk randomly around the streets at night while the production crew carried the equipment and whenever the director saw something interesting theh them stop and just gave then vague instructions and let them do their thing. AND ALSO THEY PAID FOR THE SUBWAY THEY JUST JUMPED THE TURNSTILES FOR THE SHOT

I really loved this era! If you didn’t notice all the “bad/illegal” things they did weren’t actually breaking any laws. For example when they were jumping over the subway turn things they were actually exiting the station and therefore not breaking the law 😂.

Go is the second best NCT Dream title track for me- sitting behind We Go Up- as the overall message hit me hardcore. I spent my teenager years spray b0mbing at private walls just to convey a goverment-trigerring-awakening phrases. "We aim for a better world" as Jaemin specifically said, this song just sums up my youth.

This was Jaemin's first comeback, after debut because of his back injury. And this was their first song that had the concept of maturity. And nctzens also had joked that nct127 'touch' shouldve been for them, if you've seen that it's more fluffy in a way? And go is more mature. But if you focus on the lyrics of each song, touch is definitely more mature😂

Renjun is pronouced as it looks since it is a chinese name. "Ren joon" and so thats what I say. Although the other members say more "Lun Joon" or "Injoon" (his Korean name) so I think you can choose what you would rather say

Sorry just bringing this up just now If you romanize Renjun's Chinese name it would be "Ron-jin" (this is how you actually pronounce it but if you romanize it based on Korean characters, the spelling would be different). Since his name is Chinese, Korean and English romanizations are different. The Chinese members' names in Korean are written on how they pronounce it in Chinese. (Not their Korean names, I'm talking about their Chinese names and how it's written in Korean) An example would be Chenle's name, his name would be Chenle if it's romanized in English but his name would be Chon-lo (more accurately as Cheon-leo) if you romanized it in Korean But yes, Renjun's Korean name is Hwang Injoon (황인준) I just wanted to share what I've noticed and I hope this is helpful (I'm currently studying Korean btw)

Min Frost Min Frost Min Frost Min Frost hiiii i speak chinese!! renjun’s name in pinyin is huáng rén jùn, not ron jin! chinese doesnt have a “romanisation” since it already has pinyin!! and its pronounced that way!! in korean the members replace the r with their equivalent thats probounced as an L in the beginning of a word since its more comfortable in hangul bc they dont have the chinese “r” sound. so their korean names, while based on their chinese pronunciation, arent thaaaaaat accuarate when said korean. hope that helped!! im also learning korean btw but i already know chinese so

glad you reacted to this! GO was nct dream’s comeback for the NCT 2018 Empathy era (just like black on black, baby don’t stop, and boss) the concept was teenage rebellion and it was their first “mature” comeback after majority of them became adults that year. it was also jaemin’s comeback after being on hiatus from a back injury. i personally think this is one of the best in their discography. :)

The vibe I get with NCT Dream used to throw me off but then I realized that it literally is the development of a human. Chewing Gum was like being a child with We Go Up heading into Adolescence. Go was when NCT Dream became rebellious teenagers while Boom was the stage where you hover between teens and adult hood. Ridin' was when they finally became an adult. Am I the only one that sees them developing this way?

11:04 Yesss Jisung's popping😭😭 I'm not 100% sure since I'm somewhat new to the fandom so idk predebut stuff as much, but I'm like 99% sure that jisung mainly did popping genre before debut. I'm pretty he did many genre of dance predebut/pre audition but I'm pretty sure he specialized in popping. Anyways it's very apparent when you watch his fancams, especially if you watch it before/after watching Haechan's fancam since he's more of a smooth kind of dancer. Even though Haechan is my #1 bias in NCT (I have sooo many biases😅) Jisung's dance literally makes me so happy he's so freaking talented I mean he debuted when he was 14!!! It especially be hitting different since he's only 3 months older than me and I still have 1 year left in high school😭😂😂

The fact that Jeno went from NCT Dream Go, his line 'Nope.' to NCT U Misfit, and his line, which is also 'Nope.' is captivating. i remember feeling shocked when i watched go during empathy era. watching them from chewing gum to we young it always felt fresh and youthful. i'm the same age as the boys and watching them perform go felt empowering since i was going thru some mature changes in my life as well. i stanned them so hard ever since! still my favorite concept and cb to date. 💚 their choreo, vocals and rap were so domineering it makes u feel rebellious yet in control.

one of the reason why I love nct dream because their mv concept transition also evolve as they grow older... they are showing as the phases every child face us they grow up and its very nice. They started in chewing gum then we young because they were so young back then and now this mv show that they are in the state of rebellion stage of a teenager. Up to the present the ridin... darn from hoverboard to motorcycle my babies are growing up so fast. Every nct dream stan turn into parents of these kids😆😅

3:13 IDK if I'm remembering correctly but I think in 2018 there were talks that Go really was supposed to be the 127 song while Touch was supposed to be the Dream song, especially considering the order they released them, the pattern usually is U ➡ 127 ➡ Dream, but for Empathy they did it U ➡ Dream ➡ 127 so there might be some truth to that. Also the! hashtag! watermarks!

This song is from NCT2018 Empathy and in this album each unit switched concepts. "Go" by NCTDream took NCT U concept (dark, lyrical hip hop), "Boss" by NCT U took NCT127 concept (trap with R&B vocals) and "Touch" by NCT127 took NCTDream concept (pop, happy upbeat).

This was the comeback when Jaemin Cameback from his fracture, He came with an amazing mature look and so powerfull and this song was included in the Empathy Album with others like Black on Black, Touch and Boss, that was a collaboration between the units at that moments, it was I N S A N E,,, A M A Z I N G. Thanks for dissecting those body moves and footwork which highlight how good the Dreamies are. What many say that they are a whole dance line is true. And thanks for reacting to one of my favorite songs ever. GO is the anthem of that long gone youth and i love how the plaintive vocals, especially Haechan's, evoke the memories of my own fair share of teenage angst.

This was when NCT 127 and NCT Dream swapped concept. Love the EMPATHY era so much when they released soooo many great songs! Boss, Baby don't stop, Go, Touch, Yestoday. Basically Empathy is an NCT U full album featuring NCT 127 and NCT Dream.

I had started stanning NCT in 2017, but their NCT 2018 comeback was my first ever comeback, and man I still think about it a lot. But yeah, a lot of fans said that dream & 127 swapped concepts when this came out. Right after Go came out, the MV for 127's Touch came out & it was 127's first time having a softer song as a title track. Some ppl weren't happy, but I love both songs!

2018 Was such an interesting era for NCT, first of all we got NCT 2018 with "Black on Black" and then NCT Dream came back with "Go" (much more mature but still youth-like) and NCT 127 released "Touch" which was gorgeous (it is probably the lightest and happiest concept I've seen NCT 127 pull off). It was like they had swapped concepts!!! ( + Jungwoo and Lucas debuted)

They were like switching concept with NCT 127. While they were doing GO, not too long after that NCT 127 came out with that lovely cutesy concept with “Touch”. And NCTzen were loving that.

“oh noooo tailgatingggg, so bad”. nct dream knows it too, that’s why they tapped the passes on the scanners before jumping, but from that angle it looked like the gates stayed closed haha. i remember renjun telling us back when the song dropped. it’s so cute that they were playing the rebellious teenager concept but didn’t actually tailgate; LEGENDS!
