Bro, sunghoon is amazing. 10 years of figure skating and this man can do a triple spin on and off the ice if he wants to. You should watch his performance or when he went to the rink with i-landers, he has beautiful form and poise. He is extremely professional. (He is my bias if u can't tell and I was a fan before i-land)
They debuted not even 2 weeks ago and they hold such power....YES!!! also if you love turns and spins you should difinitely react to GFRIEND especially Love Whisper. They're also part of BigHit Labels
Man I would die to see you react to I-land on Patreon, looove your longer videos for shows like this Edit: they have these “live jam” session they stream where they just put on music and dance however, it’s low-key but they look like they’re just having fun and sometimes they pop offff, that’s really cool to me to see they actually enjoy just vibing like that
Great video as always Jeff!! I would have two requests: 1) Would you react to other two rookies: MCND and DKB? I think this year a lot of rookies were amazing including these two and Enhypen, Treasure, P1Harmony... 2) would you do a top 10 of your favourite dancers in the KPOP industry? Not best, that would create flames maybe, just your favourite, I think that would be interesting.
New subscriber here! I am always looking forward for your reactions. I really learned a lot esp the terms either dance/vocals. . . Thank you for this! More vids to come😊 -music major here. . .
@@jarolrivera640 his figure skating career literally wasn't in decline??? he literally won silver in junior worlds TWICE. he was working on his triple axel (the hardest jump) when he quit, and he was this close to making a name for himself. obviously, it was a personal problem as he barely had a year in his first senior skating season. which I completely understand as a figure skater feeling completely burnt out after dedicating 11 years of your life to a sport, it gets tiring u feel like ur getting nowhere, but cmon he's only better off in enhypen now bc he just looking happier following his n e w passion. but don't say his skating career was in decline bc it wasn't it was literally just starting to take off as well as he can't just keep skating. skating takes so many hours of training. I'm just in high school and nowhere near his level and I do not have a life. its insane how he was still competing when he was a trainee at bighit, both careers take a ridiculous amount of time and energy its insane.
@@amourmyg5997 Exactly. I even heard he was like top 10 of young ice skaters that people look forward to in the future in terms of success; something like that, people had high hopes for him and he had a good stable fanbase as an ice skater too that was growing. Definitely was making a name for himself even though he found something new he wanted to do. The amount of work he put in to both things must be tiring but all worth it.
@@leenuhh_ yeah he really was. i figure skate and I like to go and look at other countries junior national skaters and I knew about him and few of my friends knew abt him and we were all like, "damn he's gonna go far" so when the contestants for iland were released and ppl were like "omg park sunghoon is a figure skater" i was like lmao what. I'm just proud of how much effort he's put into figure skating and being an idol, and I will be sad if he eventually has to quit quit figure skating bc I was always wanting to he him get to or near the Olympics, but he loves enhypen and loves being an idol so its all good :) his happiness is most important
8:18 niki’s spin seriously looked so good here & that just HAS to be because of his background in ballet edit: i took the time to look at each member & i would say that sunghoon's looked the 2nd best (you guys already know why hahaha)
good luck on watching i-land i went into that show knowing who was going to debut but i still cried every episode bc you get so attached to ones that have to leave but the performances on that show are SO good.
Niki only did 1.5 turn. He was facing left (my pov) when he turned then facing right when he stopped. Sunghoon also did 1.5. Other members did just 1 turn because of their position. I guess they adjusted the position based on who can turn well. Check where they are faving first before they did the turn. But some of then did it gracefully. Check their legs when they turn. You can see their form. Especially Sunghoon. You can see his legs crossed during the turn.
@@jarolrivera640 Sunoo used the turn for coming closer to the center, is a normal thing among dancers get on position without making it evident. He was pretty great, don't worry :)
They literally are trained to be this way from I-LAND, remember the times they had to learns new chreographies within 6 or 7 days? Old painful and happy times. I am so proud of them all, they are literally the best!
IVE BEEN WAITINGGG (ahhh also there are 4 bighit trainees heeseung, sunghoon, jay, and jungwon but they all moved to belift so maybe thats how you saw that bighit vibe in their dance moves etc. edit: yes the guy in the middle with leather pants is heeseug~)
@@nelenalove247 yea i heard about that too, about him getting in through bighit global auditions but im not for sure about so i js put the ones we have confirmation of~
Their choreographer and performance directors are also Bighit during their i-land days, they were also their judges..hence excellence was expected during every performance test they have each week. If you see their pre-debut performance and compare it to their performance now you will see how much they've grown in 10 months..
@@dreamsthatchangedourlives5919 yup i do remember all those performancess and the high expectations the judges had for them, which makes sense to be honest considering they had to beat a lot of trainees to even get on the show which meant they had to be very skilled in one of the main assets that make an idol (singing, dancing, rapping) to make it. yesss they have been and im sure will continue, growing and improving but i feel like it was showcased especially in their facials and their stage presence overall because we all know (well im pretty sure all eggies should know at least lmaoaoo) they’ve always had stable vocals and well rounded dancing skills. aHhhhh im so proudd to be an eggie/engene and most importantly of enhypen~
Thank you for your in-depth reaction! Enhypen’s age range is 14-19, though the maknae is turning 15 in a few days, and their level of professionalism is already insane. They prepared this and four other choreos (all of which have amazing stage performances) in the 2 months between the show ending and their debut, and that’s not even mentioning all the recording and filming. They had a MAMA 2020 dance break as well and all I have to say is that these boys can *work*, literally.
I can't believe that I'm older than the maknae...I mean, we are the same age but my birthday was in October.. Here we have a couch potato that was a competitive for almost 10 years 🥔 and there we have a talented guy that is working hard dancing and singing every day 🤸♂️🤸♂️🤸♂️ . . . Yeah I'm fine- My self-esteem is untouched 👍💀
Ni-ki, the 14 y.o. maknae, who's also their dance leader, is also a fan of big movements & synchronization. Even back in iland, he would advise his groupmates/competitors to make their movements big & sharp. He did a 1 3/4 turn here.
8:20 ni-ki the second from the right with black shirt and pants and blonde hair did a double turn and he has a ballet background:) he is the youngest(05 liner) and the main dancer or the dance leader as the members call him:)
The youngest member (Ni-ki) at 6:35, the one walking through the middle He is actually only 14! I was shocked when I found out- Edit: His birthday was on the 9th so he's 15 now
yes, that's Ni-Ki. he is 14. I was also surprised when I found out that he was 14. I was the same age as him, but I just lay at home. he's already an idol. poor me :'(
waiting for your enhypen on mama reaction as well as their "let me in" and "10 months" performances. i wanted to see your reaction to them literally flying in 10 months choreo😂
I am a new fan and you’re right, I’ve noticed that there is no weak dancer in this group. Obviously some are better at freestyle etc. but choreo wise everyone delivers.
Pls react to Stray Kids, The Boyz and Ateez Collab stage on mama yesterday :> also the dance practice of Breath, and Lazt piece already dropped. Thank you and You are one of my fave youtube reactors Stay Safe always Everyone
About the trainers yes, in Iland you will see that it's the same people from BigHit. The choreographer of BTS, their music producers, etc~ Also, 3 enhypen members were former bighit trainees, so yeah they were trained by basically the same people
in a simple way, one could say that though enhypen is under belift lab, the music + choreography is handled by bighit. if you’re talking about trainee background, then half of them are bighit trainees.
@@lwber211 nope, Jake did not train in Big Hit. He won the global audition with over 500 applicants. Then he proceeded to train in Belift before joining the show.
i feel like they did niki dirty, he didn't have much center time despite being one of, if not the best dancers in the group. i get that he may not have many lines bc of his fluency but 😔😔
I don't think it's because of his korean from what I've heard his korean is pretty good i think we will see more of him in the next come back he's a sub rapper so it makes sense that he didn't get as many lines as usual but he could also be in a similar situation as Felix from stray kids when he wasn'tas good at pronunciations ect but is very good at dancing. The part that i don't understand is the fact that he didn't get to dance in the center quite often i hope in thier next comeback he gets more lines and center same goes for jay
@@erosivy sub rapper?where di u get that?(but he can rap thou)but There's no confirmed positions yet except Jungwon(leader) Heeseung (Center) and Ni-Ki(Main dancer-confirmed by the members)
I think you will like I-land they focused heavily on team aspects, individual character profiles and PERFORMANCE. Heavily emphasised stage performance!!
Plzzzzzzz watch i-land so you can understand how special this debut is, and was for everyone who watched the show. All imma say is forever #OT23. Ugh my heart. And since I'm on pateron this would be something great to add to your schedule since nct world 2.0 is over. Just a heads up though it is $20 on weverse.
3:35 you ain't wrong about them having the same trainer as the groups under BigHit Ent. like BTS and TXT. Enhypen is managed by Belift Lab but they are a joint label created by BigHit Ent. and CJ E&M Ent. and Bang Sihyuk the CEO of BigHit Ent. is in charge of producing and training.
Sunghoon (the one in the black and white jacket) used to be a figure skater for about 9 years and Ni-ki (the ash blonde) has ballet training, they are the best at doing turns.
Also, please take a look at NI-KI's dance cover to Rie Hata's choreography. Rie Hata was so pleased that she posted it on her instagram. Maybe you'll notice how good he is. twitter.com/ENHYPEN_members/status/1330479847446077453
You wanted to be on the lookout for NI-KI - that was him (blond hair/black top) that did that 1-1/2 turn after the 'Red Blood' section on the right (Jake on the left in the green did a 3/4 turn). Heeseung has the wide wing span legs and did the high leg kick. You can also see how NI-KI and Sunghoon (former competitive figure skater) hold their bodies differently in the very beginning - that's their ballet training showing.
ngl for me iland was very different compared to another survival show, especially the part 1, i feel like the system was too harsh for them. not try to exaggerating but i always cried in each episodes 🥴
ni-ki prioritize synchronization the most like he led the Grounders team performance FIRE and got better feedback than ilanders. thank ni-ki in a group!
The BigHit training will of course include the same team of trainers, but the common theme that I've observed is - just quality. They are clean, they are synchronised, each expression is extended to the end of each digit, each jump is the same height (unless it's meant to differ), the whole presentation is - well - neat. Choreography may rest on familiar elements which form a band's vocabulary, but always includes new elements. Enhypen use a common "language", but their dance is different to BTS'. I love Enhypen's dance skill. They are the first band that comes close to BTS' standard, and they do so very early in their career - but they have been chosen because of the skills they already have rather than for their potential - of course. BTS never had that luxury, and it took them years to perfect, but I feel that the fact that they developed together has built an unrepeatable bond with ARMY, and has also informed their song writing and their music. There will never be another BTS, but I look forward to seeing more music from KPop that has a substantial meaning and message. It is clear that Enhypen are a great band for KPop, but I will need to see more before I can tell if they have the potential to produce meaningful music.
i feel that they did ni-ki dirty on the song and on the choreo. since he is the best(or one of the best) dancer on the group(he worked for shinee as a dancer during tours, he learns choreo super fast and taught other ilanders on the show even though he didn't have to), i was expecting more center parts for him. he didn't have a lot of lines, but that's okay, cuz the other members vocals are better and this song doesn't have a rap part(i guess he's gonna be a lead or sub rapper). hope they don't do him dirty, cuz he has main dancer potencial.
They're not doing him dirty tho. Stop with these thought. Just look how they gave niki the dance break on mama. And a cool center and lines for let me in.
@@louderthanbombs5631 yeah right a dance break that didn't last more than 5 seconds and they didn't even film it properly!!!!!!! plus always dancing at the back and the sides when he is the MAIN DANCER yeah right they're not doing him dirty aha
Please don't say like that. They just debuted. There is a long way to go. Although he didn't get centre or many screen times in Given-taken, he still kill it and we all knew that. They just started bro. Don't hate on other members and stuffs or think unnecessary things.
@@mohaf3157 i don't think so. look at his age and look at heeseung's. look at his training period and look at heeseung's. look at his background as a dancer, he toured with shinee as a dancer while being almost a child. heeseung have better vocals and facial expressions, but when it comes to dancing, ni-ki is the strongest in the group. if he's this good at this age and with so little training, imagine when he gets at heeseung's age and heeseung's training period of time. ni-ki is main dancer material for sure. also, vocals doesn't have nothing to do with being main dancer and getting center time. there are a lot of main dancers in kpop groups that don't have the best vocal.
