I feel like Hyunjin was making a point, running his hands through his new short hair. Like "look, I don't need long hair I'm amazing no matter what."

the fact that people tried to drag him for the solo part which you, someone which knowledge about dance, and all the others ones I've seen have done nothing but praise it for how amazing it is only shows how biased people are and that they're willing to ignore the talent and passion someone has just bc of their hatred. I'm so happy he got to do such a hard choreography to show everything he's capable of, bc being a idol often makes it more hard to show their full talent than just to look pretty for the camaras

Hyunjin said in the Spotlight video for AOTM that he intentionally wanted to show a different, more powerful side than what he has shown in his past solo dance performances.

It's the fact that people dragged him on twitter for being one of the most relevant dancers of this generation, he worked very hard for this, he really did, I always love your analysis and how you see every detail in a professional way, this is what counts and not what any pixel says about him, I am a # 1 fan of his short black hair, it suits him the most, Hwang Hyunjin is the most perfect man alive I swear!

I am very proud of him, he worked so hard. In bbl after this was realize he said that he couldn’t help but cry, because it was hard. He also said that he doesn’t like to talk about how difficult it is for him sometimes, but he is really happy to see we enjoyed it.

It really amazes me how high Stray Kids’ stamina is in general. Last time I went to a Stray Kids concert they performed 4 of their high energy songs consecutively in a row without stopping and it’s like??? How the hell are you pulling off such high energy choreography, singing and rapping with such stable voices AND looking so good??? The amount of training & hardwork that must have taken for all of them. It’s insane

The fact that people on twt dragged him for that solo part and saying that he lacks skills and his whole aura and expressions are fake shows how much people are ignorant and hating on him for no valid reason, I’m no expert but I could see how the choreo was really on the difficult level and how insane his moves are, thank you for spitting facts and explaining to us how a brilliant dancer and performer Hyunjin is I have soo much respect for his dedication and hard work.

I feel like Hyunjin is going to be like Lay. The monsterous dedication and technique execution. This man is this dangerous at only 21. My God he's going to be even more powerful

This performance is a remix of the song "Motley Crew" by Post Malone. (I believe it was referencing the heavy metal band from the 80s (with a different spelling). "Motley (mot = sounds like pot) crew" as a term is pretty ancient and means an unusual, random, undisciplined & probably dangerous group, like the crew of a sailing ship of olden times. That's what the performance looks like at the start - all the dancers in a group holding the hat up like the mast of a ship, and Hyunjin takes the hat & joins their motley crew, until he throws the hat away later.

I watched this AOTM...probably ten times in a row when it was released? Hyunjin's charisma is so captivating. As much of a good dancer as some people may be, it's hard to stay interested in the performance if they're not good performers but he has both the skills and stage presence. It's insane- he's insane for this!

The fact that he knew people would be expecting something like playing with fire and yet still said "Sike" is Main Character King Behavior

5:44 yes, JYP and Div1 lets them grow up their skill. Because stray kids has a genre by themself and JYP know it, so he give freedom access to Stray Kids doing anything.

Honestly i can see the whole group is more them able to be artist of the month in studio choom, but i can see why it was Hyunjin that is the first member to acomplish this !! When he dances on the dance practice or the stage is so mesmerizing that you don’t see the time pass by , that kind of performance not everyone that can do that !! We stays are very proud of him even when he thinks about if he can’t do it because of the pressure that he still hás on his shoulder !! He’s a performer if a lot of adjetives like : imaculate, powerful , delicate when need it etc !!! Like one time Freddy Mercury said : i’m not a artist i’m a performer !!

when you said the choreographers really put him through a lot I remember him saying in the spotlight video how there was seemingly no time to breathe but when I saw the actual performance video i was rlly amazed how he executed the choreography. he really must have a lot of stamina akdjdjjd

Hyunjin is unreal, his dancing, his expressions, the entire package was amazing, we definitely got more than what we bargained for but the sad thing is right after this premiered he got on Bubble to say that he had low self-esteem 😪so if anyone is reading this that has his bubble please go and let him know how amazingly talented he is because this blew my mind.🙌🙌👏👏👏😍

The haters only make him unstoppable and more known by others. They so threatening by his power and made fool of themselves by hating something that didn't have anything to be hated for.

I can't imagine the amount of time and effort he put to excel this choreo, it looks SO freaking hard to execute, and knowing that he prepared for it during the Noeasy promotions, the very late and the so early bubble msgs he used to send make so much sense now

I think he mention in his spotlight (preview) of Aotm that for this one he want to show his another side (the strong side? ) of him compare to play with fire and when the party’s over.

I love the fact that an anti of skz on twitter made a compilation of a few seconds of hyunjin's performance saying how bad it was, and people who did not know him went to see it on youtube just to check if it was that bad ,and then it was full of comments in hyunjin video of people who said they came from twitter and were surprised at how good it was, they did not understand why someone on twitter had done something like that. I understand it envy.

This performance is amazing in every way, and Hyunjin is on his way to become one of my favorite dancers in kpop - I am really glad to see him improve every time. A talented individual indeed.

I know you must be tired to read this but remember Hyunjin is ONE OF THE FEW IDOLS that didn't born with talent. He worked his ass off until almost death to be what he is now. This man is 100% HARD WORK, he's part of the 5% of idols that didn't have previous knowledge in the field. PD: I believe Hyunjin is one of the best performers and has one of the best stage presence right now. (He was not the beast he is now even in his debut, he found himself after debuting).

it gets more unbelievable when you realize that he was juggling between so many responsibilities and promotions that require his full focus as an idol and dedication and stamina while he was preparing for this performance , the amount of details that got noticed by someone normal like me enhanced as you explained it professionally , the process of him building the idea of his stage right with grasping this beautiful tiring choreo must have been super intense , Hyunjin just earns that respect , thank you for sharing your take , truly an eye opener and same I actually spent two days trying the process how new this Hyunjin was , it was one of his main focuses with this aotm, he wanted to show a new side and he nailed that

As usual, an intelligent, entertaining reaction and analysis of a performance. When I watched Hyunjin’s AOTM, first thing I said was “I can’t wait for Jeff’s reaction especially to Hyunjin’s floorwork.” It’s my favourite part. Nice one Jeff! 🥰

In the 3rd section I feel like taemin has been part of the inspiration for some of the moves

hyunjin worked so hard for this. he even said himself that he struggled with this dance. this was a powerful performance that was outside of his comfort zone, from more on contemporary pieces. i honestly think this is the best aotm performance. I'm not saying this as a fan, but as a performer as well.

In the Behind the scenes we can see that he has it devided in at least 2 parts, but while training he did everything in one go, so yes. amazing stamina.

Thank you for talking about how height can be a hinderance because not enough people do. I’m 5’10 and it can be very easy to look weighed down and shortcut your moves, but hyunjin never does that. His musicality and speed are truly something for a person of that height.

I’m OBSESSED with this performance. I just watched the behind video for this performance and it was so amazing to see. I would recommend watching it!

im so late but there's a reason Hyunjin (and i'm pretty sure every other artist that has come to studio choom) didn't slide on the floor as much as he could've, and that was because the floor itself isn't slippery/smooth. i remember it being the case even all the way back to Chaeyeon's AOTM video (the first to be featured in the aotm series). and both of them had to kind of improvise on the spot when they realized they couldn't slide in some parts of their choreo, so Hyunjin doing that bboy move feels like an even bigger feat because it turns out he needed to exert more effort to lift his whole body off the floor ;u; anyways thank you for the video Jeff

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Hyunjin moves as if he can make gravity work for him. He moves so lightly when he needs to that it seems like gravity is on his side lol

When I saw Hyunjins performance for the first time I thought that the choreo looked so easy until I realized it only looked that way because he dances with so much passion and hard work! This is not easy at all to do!

I literally cried after watching this artist of the month, after all of my screams about how good this whole thing was, I am so proud of hyunjin. Literally people see him as just a pretty face, lots of people where even dragging him on twt for some parts but that took alot of fandoms to the video and all of them said "bruh this is bullshit this guy is so talented what where the people on twt on about". Hyunjin has went thru alot, to arrive where he is now, we gotta remember how much blood, sweat and tears he poured into his training. When he entered the company he didn't know how to dance and he grew to not like it at some point cause he got always scolded, also others where saying he didn't need to know how to do anything since he is so handsome he would debut either way, and this put hyunjin thru a new sense of motivation, he was gonna prove all of them wrong. He worked so hard and became to me one of the best dancers we have in kpop today. He is so talented, has amazing controll of his body and can do many styles, his fluidity is insane, stage presence on point, facial expression insane, I just love him so much. He is truly an amazing artist, I am so proud of him.

Hyunjin is truly an artist in every shape and form and he's enjoying himself in this dance which I'm happy for and the way he expresses the dance and moves whether it's hard hitting or fluid, the little details, technicalities 🤯. He puts his all in anything he loves and I'm So so proud of what he has accomplished and is going to accomplish in the future. He is such a humble human and loves his members and STAY so much, his bubble messages yesterday made me treary eyed saying how thankful he is for his members, friends, family and colleagues, how his self-esteem has been at 0% these days, how hard it was and how STAYS and the members have saved him once again. Also saying how he didn't want to tell us he has been having a hard time but we keep raising him up, making him want to depend on us Shout-out to Versachoi for rearranging the song, the choreographers MOTF, the stylists and makeup artists, the dancers, Studio Choom and of course the man himself Hwang Hyunjin for such an amazing performance. Can't wait for the unfiltered version of the performance and the choreo record which is the behind the scenes. Hands down one of the best dancers in Kpop. Would love to see him do a stage with Kai or Taemin

The training and filming video was released and Hyunjin talked a lot about the difficulty of the dance and that it is the most difficult dance he has done so far and requires a lot of effort and energy and that there are many parts that he will be filming continuously I'm so proud of him because I saw how nervous he was about the outcome and the reaction of Stay but he did a really great job, and thank you for your reacting💖💖
