Lucas may not have the most experience but he has the most charisma and a very strong aura which makes gets you intrigued with instantly. Of course all the members are great and aces but I'm so drawn to Lucas and his powerful dance moves

I feel like no one takes me seriously when I say that Lucas is a good dancer. He's so tall and has so much centre time that he would look like a fool is he was just a pretty face. Everything is a just a little bit harder when you have longer limbs and torso. He makes his long arms work for him and exude power without being overly sharp. Like he's cool with it? idk... The more seniority they have the more input they get in their styling. The stylist will consider what everyone prefers to an extent if it doesn't clash with the concept.Taemin, Kai, and Baek probably get first choice and can veto anything without a problem. The rest will take whatever they're given to avoid being labelled as hard to work with. Taemin always complains that the shoes he has to wear are super heavy. He must've been glad when other type of trousers started coming back after the long reign of the skinny jean.

Abt the styling, there's a clip from SHINee World Concert Tokyo Dome concert backstage where Minho seen teasing one of their stylists by imitating how she'd beg and cry for them to just please wear the prepared costumes coz if the boys refuse to wear them then the stylists would be the one to fault 🥲😂 so I think those idols don't really have choices abt styling unless it directly impact their stage performance. You can also see how idols would wear heavy boots/shoes, layered tops, leather jackets or jeans/tight pants, basically uncomfortable clothing possible for their dance practices, so that they're used to not only wear those movements-restricted costumes on stage but also dance even more swifter and lighter if they're given more accomodating costumes. In some of taemin's behind the scene concert videos, you can see how he'd do his dance rehearsals exactly in the fancy shoes he'd gonna wear for the concert instead of wearing more comfortable shoes, something that later even copied by his dancers (most of them then seen rehearsed with their dress shoes for the concert 😆). He explained how more than anything he need to wear good shoes which provide him balance coz unbalanced shoes would give him back pain and leg cramps if he performed with them for few gruesome hours on stage.

I was surprised he noticed Ten as Ten has the least lines in 100.

Lucas has no screen time on SuperM and is still attractive, he is definitely a star

Yeah Lucas is half Thai, people say that he is not a good dancer? It seems a bit ironic to me because is the one who debuted last so he hasn't been in the kpop industry that long. Personally I think he is a great performer, has very good facial expressions and even though he doesn't have much time, attracts attention. I practically got interested in SM groups because of him lol so thanks for noticing his skills

You know why you see Kpop idols in their dance practices wearing a lot of layers, and often what we would think of as street clothes, with heavy shoes, etc. instead of workout wear? One reason is because it helps build up endurance and to condition their bodies to be able to dance on stage with their stage outfits and not be affected. Why it looks so effortless on stage and like they hardly even exert themselves or sweat sometimes, is because their body has become used to being dressed in layers as they work hard while wearing tight jeans and heavy shoes, etc. That is why they can perform for more than 3 hours straight and still look and sound, like they just started the concert. It's kind of like if you spend a lot of time in a sauna, after a while your body gets used to the heat and you can endure more heat for longer periods of time. :D (It's the same reason why women who have to dance in heels will practice dancing in heels instead of tennis shoes, etc.)

I really enjoy both these choreos and how different the songs are. 100 really suits watching a live performance. Have you seen the live version of Can't Stand the Rain where they have live drummers? Senior artists who have been in the business a while, to an extent, always have a say in what they wear and how they look. Many times Idols will hire their own stylists when they become popular enough that they can afford to pay their own team instead of relying on the company to foot the bill. And often a group or artist will have worked with those same stylists for years, so at some point the stylists start to just know what kind of clothing and styles the artist likes and will design their stage outfits accordingly. So SM will give the stylists a concept and idea of what they want the group to look like and then the stylists will collaborate to come up with a look that works for everyone. Junior artists have less of a say. The company dictates what the younger/newer idols do because the company pays the staff, etc. For example, Super Junior has said that Lee SooMan (SM, the founder of SM Entertainment) used to come to them and ask whether they liked what they were wearing and depending on the members feelings on their outfits, he would often work with them to change or alter what they wore. And groups like SHINee who have a member like Key, who is SM's director of fashion, help to design their own stage outfits. So they get a big say in the style and looks for everything they wear. However, young rookie idols often are given a style and concept from debut, such as, you are the cute one, or you are the sexy one, etc. and their style will reflect that regardless of whether that is the style they would chose themselves.

Unfortunately, this performance of SuperM's "I Can't Stand The Rain" isn't the best example of this song or performance. I love this song and SuperM's live performance of it is amazing, however, the video you watched was a recording from Ellen's talk show which was posted on Ellen's RU-vid Channel, so I'm pretty sure they muted the sound of the crowd and they edited the footage, so you aren't even hearing SuperM singing live. I'm pretty sure the studio recording from their album has been layered overtop of the live audio. They did it so viewers can actually hear the song and enjoy the performance. That is also similar to how they often produce official DVD footage of concerts. They mute the sound of the crowd or lower the crowd noise and raise the volume on the voices of the singers and music. Because no one wants to watch an official performance video and all they hear is the crowd screaming. Most people come to watch the video to see and hear the performance of the people on stage. :D However, because this was a U.S. TV show, they didn't really understand the importance of being able to hear the audience when it comes to Kpop performances. Kpop video editors understand why they need to at least leaving the crowd interaction noise in the video even if it's only 20% of the volume because Kpop is all about the fan interaction elements. But I don't think Ellen's people were prepared for how passionate Kpop fans can be and the simplest solution was just to take all the crowd noise out. Which is kind of sad, because you miss something when its not the true performance. If you watched it when it aired live you would have heard them singing live, but because of the crowd and the poor sound system, I think they weren't sure how to handle it. Plus, I think "I Can't Stand The Rain" was the second performance after "Jopping," so at that point the audio was completely worn out. LOL So they had some "technical difficulties." ;P The space was too small and there were too many crazy passionate fans so it overwhelmed Ellen's sound system. Usually the sound tech on Ellen's show only needs to be high enough quality to pick up conversations, not amazing vocals and their crazy fans who want to blow the roof off the studio. LOL They weren't prepared to have to do any high tech sound mastering for this performance. :D
