Thank you for this wonderful list of alternatives to the pillar fragrances. Will be putting Very Good Girl on my buy list - I have a sample and it’s beautiful. Own L’Interdit Rouge and it’s my favourite of all the other versions. So warm and sensual.
I'm so glad you like the new Chloe Nomade Naturelle! I just received my bottle of it a few days ago and I was expecting a light coconutty suntan lotion type if scent but I was surprised at how exotic is smells with the dates and jasmine! It is very different from original nomade and my absolute love nomade EdT, but somehow fits into the nomade "story". It is the chic traveller girl bronzed and wearing a cream coloured flowy dress walking barefoot through an exotic garden in the late evening ✨
Desperately, I googled you in search of your lipstick shade lol. I found your STUNNING blog!! I know blogs do not get the same traffic as video content, which explains the lack of recent posts. I have to say your blog is absolutely top-notch. Also, I appreciated that you used to link your clothing and makeup shades. Can you please do that again on here? I know your favorite lipstick is a discontinued CT shade (Too Bad I'm Bad, right?) I am equally obsessed with makeup as I am fragrances lol. Huge fan!!
L'Interdit Rouge is *it* I don't know what part of the original smelled like older woman to me (nothing bad about it, just not my type of scent) but Rouge is everything. So good! 💘
So useful! Most of my favorite parfumes in here. I was wondering if you has talked about Nomad yet. I literally searched in on your videos last week. I am looking for a new fragrance and am blown away by the timing. Thank you!
I literally just bought ‘very good girl’ an hour ago! Thank you so much for your video comparing the various flankers, it was really helpful. I absolutely looove the fruity touches in ‘very good girl’, I foresee it becoming a spring/summer everyday staple for me!! Xxxx
I am really enjoying watching these videos--very refreshing and interesting! I do wonder how many others have ever had the disappointment of a scent smelling so good in the beginning, but then one note comes in to ruin it at the end (or even in the middle)? This happens to me so frequently, especially with designer fragrances but it happens with niche as well. I loved Very Good Girl at first spray and was fully prepared to buy a full bottle but that vetiver in the dry down is so strong on me it makes me gag. I have never been able to deal with vetiver in feminine fragrances (in masculine oriented scents I have no problem with the smell of it) and I'm noticing it popping up more and more. Same goes for mossy base notes (except in Voca Viva where it doesn't really appear except for a whiff of something slightly earthy in the far dry down) and don't get me started on patchouli lol.
Loving all your videos! Would it be possible that you do a buying guide of Serge Lutens or Parfum d'Empire? I really like these houses. Have a great day !
So funny you should talk about nomade naturelle since I've discovered it this week only! It's soooo good and probably now my favourite from this range !! I fully agree with all of your pics ! Great idea for a video as well !!
Thank you for the quality content! Just got Aerin Mediterranean Honeysuckle Mimosa, but saw some comments that the original was better. What is your take on the mimosa flanker?
during the christmas I got a sample of black opium extreme and i grew to like it, I didn't at first. I let it chill out for two months, came back to it and voilà it was very lovely.
For me, L'Interdit Rouge at the start is ripe, black grapes and spices. The first notes of acquaintance are very sharp, rich, sonorous. I saw many associations with mulled wine. I have similar feelings. I feel thick grape juice here, perhaps with hints of pomegranate or cherry. All berries are seen as red, like the color of the bottle itself, burgundy, dark. L'Interdit Rouge sounds the most beautiful for me in the cold. Cherry sweetness, smoke, hints of gingerbread and woods are ideally combined with cold air.
I really appreciate how you describe and recommend fragrances that you yourself wouldn’t wear. I love Black Opium Extreme and agree with everything you said about it. Thank you for realizing that we all have different tastes and that’s okay! This is why I am subscribed to your channel, even though I don’t always agree with the scents that you choose for yourself. And your descriptions are so detailed that I can still get an idea of what I might like. I hate it when reviewers just talk about their emotions instead of telling us what the actual fragrances smell like! 😁
That's very kind of you to say, thank you so much ❤️ I tend to recommend fragrances that I love but to your point we all have different tastes and ultimately I want to help you all navigate this wonderful world of fragrances and make it as easy to digest as possible :)
When talking Armani Si, the Fiori flanker is my favourite. I'm not a fan of Passione for the same reason you love it, it smells like soap! I also prefer Black Opium Extreme to the Original. Good Girl Supreme is my favourite of that line.
Very interesting video and take on designer fragrances😊 I personally love L'interdit and am so impressed by both: Rouge and Intense, but I guess Intense can wait until winter. Rouge will be the first flanker I will purchase. I think I read that Kurkdjan is the perfumer of the Elie Saab one? Could be I am mistaking though. I need to try this one because I remember liking it the first time I smelled it, but I don't remember any notes or feelings. Thank you, Josephine! Take care 💚
Hi, I'm having Armani Si Passione and I'm in love with it, do you have any recommendations for something in the same Fragrance Family (Fruity Floral) ?
Hi, Can you please do a top 5 or 10 fragrances that does not have Jasmine note in them. I personally dont like Jasmine. It gives me nausea. 😕 All my fragrances is minus Jasmine. Btw loving your videos. ❤
8:57 ive recently added this to my collection and its the best peice i got next to coco mademoisle and black opium lobe the rouge for evening wear and formals
I love to wear Very Good Girl with Givenchy Live Irresistible Rosy Crush - Rosy Crush is the perfect Rose Turkish Delight but lighter than - & layers beautifully 1 part to 4 parts VGG You hv to seriously shake the bottle of VGG, though - or the vanillic nuances aren't there. Dreadful bottle, ofc, but nevermind, it stays hidden. I don't think it smells like Delina - but VGG layed with Rosy Crush, is a better version🤗💜
I just bought Angel Nova and I see that VGG also smells like this one. Do you think it’ll make sense to own them both? I wore AN and I wasn’t as impressed as I thought I would be so I may sell that and get VGG.🤔
I detest Very Good Girl (my nose hates any type of rose scent), so I prefer the original to it. However, I prefer Legere over them all (so, agreed that flankers can outshine their OG roots). Thanks for the video- looking forward to the Chloe flanker.
I only, strongly disagree with the very good girl. I tho get why a very young girl find it better than the OG. To me, there is no comparison. The original is the better of all the flankers. But, it's just my personal opinion and only.😉👍
@@jusderose after I commented I looked back at your videos and noticed you had done one on rose fragrances. The ones mentioned aren’t quite what I am looking for. I am interested in a high quality, bright, light rose fragrance for spring. I have samples of Aerin’s Rose Grasse and Miller Harris Rose Silence but not what I have in mind. Can you suggest anything that might fit the bill? Nothing powdery or musky. Just a nice wear whenever floral rose scent (maybe a cedar base).
Omg I love Very good girl, but I have to tell you about the newest Very good girl GLAM, which has been just released! I mean, if I could say the red shoe is one of my top 3 scents, then I don’t even know what to say about the newest Glam version, because it’s SO GOOD! I literally sprayed some on my hand in the store and couldn’t stop smelling my hand! I ordered 2 bottles right away 🫢 And also my recent favorite mens flanker is One Million Elixir - it’s divine! I feel like I would even wear it if not for masculine notes (or maybe I will?)
@@bnb0510 yes, it’s very similar, so. if you don’t like VGG then you probably won’t like this one either 🙁 BUT I must say it always depends on which exact note you don’t like there, so there’s still a chance you might like the Glam version more 😊
Lovely video, Jus! I usually prefer flankers than originals. I would like to try Very Good Girl. I like the original one, but I don’t have it, because it’s so popular. Do you like any flanker from La Vie Est Belle? I don’t like the original one, but I love L’eclat, it is a beautiful orange blossom. 😘
Was thinking about Armani My Way and the flankers (intense and now the new floral one). I know they might be a bit boring ordinary everyday florals. Wanted to hear your thoughts on the range. Thank you for this video. I have just put l'interdit rouge on my to buy list. Have got a sample of l'interdit and like it but might not buy a bottle.
Chiming in to say I LOVE Armani my way EDP. It’s got this sparkly tartness to it and it’s not too similar to L’Interdit or So Scandal. Armani my way intense smells super similar to the aforementioned but the original EDP is fun sparkly, fresh, with a grapey Tuberose/jasmine vibe.
@@jusderose I tested My Way over the weekend on my arm. Did 2 sprays and was overwhelmed with sweetness. And it was too strong for me. And I usually like a strong fragrance. Think I'm giving My Way and flankers a skip.
for some strange reason, when i tested black opium on me in the store the other day, it smelled like sour, stale coffee and there was just a hint of vanilla, something was also quite sharp when i sprayed it. this is why i don't get it at all, was something off about that tester?? it was a new tester so i don't think it was spoiled
absolutely not. just because they kinda share the name doesn’t mean they are flankers. Those are two separate fragrances and lines, they don’t share any similarities, not even in the base notes
Very good girl smells great on a card but on my skin it’s a really plasticky doll head. Not a safe blind buy. I recently just got My Way Floral, IMO better than the original for spring/summer.
Thank you Jus! I've been really interested in buying Very Good Girl for a while now, but unfortunately it's only sold online in New Zealand, which means getting you would mean a blind buy. Would you say this is at all blind buy safe?
I am an avid fan of Si fragrances and almost never miss a single new one. Throughout the existence of the line, in one format or another, I have had all versions of this wonderful perfume. And I did not want to buy only one - Si Passion. There is no passion here, there is no resilience either.
Did you get one of them? I would love to know which one and reason why.. I am leaning toward Rouge myself, but will have to test Intense before any purchase.
@@tchaouithtamazit340 Hi, I didn't get either of them...yet. I have been purchasing many other (niche) perfumes, so L'Interdit took a backseat. I am thinking of getting them both. I love the red one, but the Intense has such mystery about it, and patchouli which I love. I'll probably get both at a discounter. The Og is meh to me.
I actually prefer Very Good Girl to Delina Exclusif. I find Delina Exclusif a little too heady with its rose, which almost makes me nauseous. Also it’s interesting how noses work. When I wear Black Opium, I barely pick up any coffee. All I seem to get is sweet and creamy jasmine.
ThankGod someone said si passioni is better and different than si original.. 3 yrs back i went to buy the original but i end up buying si passioni and there’s no going back😊
@@alidagerber I only own Delina and not the exclusif. So there is that tart note in Very Good Girl and Delina. I personally prefer a tart note in my perfumes. To go with the sweet.
